EN→DEIf you're after a compact multi-purpose laptop in the sub $2000 price range, the 2022 ROG Zephyrus G14 is definitely an option to consider. Compared to the previous G14s, this 2022 model offers refined looks and ergonomics, better inputs and ports, superior screen options, and a webcam, as well as more capable hardware with an updated thermal module. However, it should come as no surprise that squeezing powerful specs inside a compact chassis leads to high internal and external temperatures, especially on an AMD-exclusive platform, so make sure to understand what to expect from this notebook before jumping on it.

I appreciate the grippier rubber feet, the 180-screen design, the hidden status LEDs, and the fact there’s now a camera at the top of the main display, alongside the updated inputs, screen options, and the more powerful specs with a more advanced thermal module. Still, I’ll need to take this through a proper spin before I can draw any conclusions on performance, as I’m curious where this positions itself against the Nvidia-based competition available with other powerful 14-inchers, as well as how the cooling design handles sustained loads in terms of temperatures and noise levels. If it checks these boxes as well, I expect the 2022 G14 to be highly competitive once more, so I sure am excited about this update. Stay around for our review in the weeks to come, and in the meantime, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 GA402R series.

Review of the 2022 ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14. They completely changed the design for the better and it uses the new Ryzen 6000 series cpu. It's a much better gaming laptop, finally has a webcam and the battery life is amazing. But it's not perfect and theres a few things to watch out for!

EN→DEThe Asus Zephyrus G14, just like the 2020 version, is an absolute stunner of a gaming laptop. Its a wonder to look at, and it's light enough that you'll toss it in your bag and forget it's even there. It's the kind of gaming laptop that you'll be able to work into your daily life without having to worry about any added back pain or judgement from people at the coffee shop. However, with how good Intel Alder Lake-based laptops are right now, the performance on offer does leave a bit to be desired – at least when it comes to raw CPU performance. We will be continuing our testing suite from here, and we can't wait to see where this laptop ultimately lands.

It doesn’t offer quite as much in terms of raw graphics power, but it came quite close on the titles tested here, and it’s currently available for literally $1,000 less. This high-end G14 is really in the Blade 15 Advanced’s price category, and that’s a tougher class than it’s occupied in the past. The G14 has a nearly flawless chassis and a powerful CPU that may be worth $1,599, but you shouldn’t spend $2,500. To earn that price tag, it needs to bring better performance.

Das ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 ist ein kompaktes Gaming-Notebook, das Leistung in ein kleines Gehäuse packt. Im Vergleich zu seinen Vorgängern bietet die neue Version dank AMD und den neuen Zen 3-Prozessoren auch mehr Leistung. Das Namensschild des Ze[hyrus G14 erstrahlt in einem neuen holografischen Farbton, der auf einzigartige Weise die Aufmerksamkeit auf sich zieht. Der Deckel des Geräts ist mit 14969 präzisen CNC-gefrästen Löchern versehen. Die Unterseite des Geräts besteht aus perforiertem Metall, wodurch es dünn und leicht bleibt und eine bessere Kühlung gewährleistet. Außerdem gibt es ein QHD+-Panel mit einer Bildwiederholfrequenz von 120 Hz. Die daraus resultierende Kombination aus Display und einzigartigem Design rechtfertigt den Einzelhandelspreis. In Bezug auf die Helligkeit und deren Verteilung zeigte das QHD-Display gute Leistungen und erzielte auch bei völliger Dunkelheit sehr gute Ergebnisse. Ein Gaming-Gerät muss eine gute Leistung haben. Asus hat sich für AMDs neuesten Prozessor, den Ryzen 9 6900HS, entschieden, und das ist die richtige Entscheidung. Die Octa-Core-CPU bietet eine solide Multi-Core-Leistung, und auch die Single-Core-Leistung wurde stark verbessert.
Als Grafikkarte wurde die AMD RADEON RX 6800S mit 8 GB GDDR6-Speicher verwendet. 16 GB DDR5-RAM und ein 1 TB großes Solid-State-Laufwerk runden das Gesamtpaket ab. Mit dieser Hardware-Ausstattung wurden die meisten Spiele flüssig und in maximaler Detailtiefe wiedergegeben. Die Lautsprecher des Zephyrus G14 lieferten eine bessere Klangqualität als erwartet. Große Leistung muss mit einem Kühlsystem gepaart werden, um eine nachhaltige Leistung zu erzielen. Das Zephyrus 14 ist mit der ROG Intelligent Cooling ausgestattet, die mit einer speziellen Dampfkammer für eine ultraeffiziente Wärmeabfuhr der heißesten Komponenten sorgt. Darüber hinaus verfügt es über die 0dB-Technologie, mit der die Lüfter automatisch deaktiviert werden können, um ein wirklich leises Erlebnis zu ermöglichen.
Die Akkulaufzeit ist oft ein Schwachpunkt bei Gaming-Laptops. Das Zephyrus G14 ist jedoch völlig anders. Was den Stromverbrauch betrifft, so verbraucht das Zephyrus G14 im Leerlauf weniger Strom als die Konkurrenz. Das 240-Watt-Netzteil des Laptops lädt auch schneller als sein Vorgänger, was bedeutet, dass der Akku schneller aufgeladen wird als zuvor. Im Gegensatz zu anderen kompakten Gaming-Notebooks ist das Zephyrus G14 mit vielen Ein- und Ausgangsanschlüssen für die Konnektivität ausgestattet. Es verfügt über zwei USB 3.2 Typ-C-Anschlüsse, zwei USB 3.2 Typ-A-Anschlüsse, eine HDMI 2.0-Buchse in voller Größe, eine kombinierte Audiobuchse und einen microSD-Kartenleser.
