The Latitude lineup was boring and this is a fresh, sleek and refreshing change. The lattice keyboard is one of the main design changes that brings that fresh, sleek change to the lineup. It looks spectacular, though I will add that the travel on this model feels a bit shallow, which may not sit well with some users.

At this level, little mistakes matter, and Dell has made a few unforced errors. The display is mediocre, and the touchpad is merely okay. While software updates may possibly improve the latter, the only solution for the former is to wait for the promised OLED upgrade. That's the caliber of display a laptop of this quality deserves – although, frankly, a more color-accurate IPS display would have done just fine, too. If the money is burning a hole in your IT budget right now, then our advice is to pick the Qualcomm-powered Latitude 7455 and pocket the change. As long as the ARM processor doesn't present any compatibility issues for your business, right now it's the better all-rounder. With a few tweaks here and there, the Pro 14 Premium will become a force to be reckoned with. Despite being the first of the new generation, it's positively brimming with potential. We can quibble about the cost – and you should, too, given the option – but when the talent is this impressive, it's worth the investment.

If this machine was still called a Latitude, would I have gone easier on it? Probably not. It has several problems, some of which involve the underlying hardware platform. I don’t think the Intel Core Ultra 200 series chips are great, as they sacrifice multitasking performance to achieve power efficiency without considering how people use these systems every day. But for light tasks, they’re good, and the battery life is exceptional. My biggest issue with the Dell Pro 14 Premium is the price being asked, for what isn’t anything special when you look at the construction, screen and very limited upgradability. Putting the words “Pro” and “Premium” in the name suggests a design, build and performance level that this hardware doesn’t deliver. The cost that Dell is asking is just adding insult to injury.

Dell: Dell ist ein 1984 gegründeter US-amerikanischer Hersteller (Sitz Texas) von Computer-Hardware und gehört zu den grössten internationalen Herstellern sowohl in Bezug auf Marktanteile als auch hinsichtlich Notebook-Modellen. Die Produktpalette umfasst unter anderem Desktops, Notebooks, Speichersysteme, Monitore, Server, Drucker, Unterhaltungselektronik und Peripheriegeräte. Dell bietet Laptops an, die ich für verschiedene Einsatzbereiche eignen, z. B. Business-Laptops, Gaming-Laptops, Ultra-Portables und Workstations. Die Business-Notebooks von Dell aus den Latitude- und Precision-Serien sind eine Option für professionelle Anwender und Unternehmen.

2023 hatte Dell einen ungefähren Marktanteil von 17% am weltweiten PC-Absatz und war damit die Nummer 3 nach Lenovo und HP.

Für Gaming-Enthusiasten ist die Marke Alienware von Dell für Gaming-Notebooks vorgesehen.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

Intel Arc 140V: Schnelle integrierte Grafikkarte, die in den schnelleren Intel Lunar Lake Prozessoren zum Einsatz kommt. Die 140V verfügt über 8 Xe²-Architekturkerne (Battlemage), die mit bis zu 2.050 MHz laufen, und 8 Raytracing-Einheiten. Sie ist DirectX 12 Ultimate-fähig und unterstützt alle modernen Video-Codecs. 

Intel Graphics 4-Core iGPU (Arrow Lake): Integrierte Grafikkarte basierend auf die Xe LPG Architektur (ähnlich zu den dedizierten Arc GPUs, jedoch mit Fokus auf Effizienz). Bietet 4 Xe Kerne (64 Xe Vector Engines) und 4 Raytracing Einheiten.

Core Ultra 7 268V: Ein höherwertiger Notebook-Prozessor aus der Lunar Lake-Serie. Dabei handelt es sich um ein SoC für den Einsatz in Laptops und Tablets der schlankeren Art, das über 4 brandneue E-Kerne und 4 etwas neue P-Kerne verfügt, die mit bis zu 5,0 GHz laufen, zusammen mit der vielversprechenden neuen Arc 140V iGPU und 32 GB integriertem LPDDR5x-8533 RAM. Ultra 7 255U: Auf der Meteor-Lake-Architektur basierender High-End Mobilprozessor. AMD Strix / Gorgon Point:

Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350: Eine relativ leistungsstarke Krackan Point Familie Prozessor, die Anfang 2025 vorgestellt wurde. Die APU integriert 8 CPU-Kernen (4 Zen 5-Kerne mit bis zu 5 GHz und 4 Zen 5c-Kerne mit bis zu 3,5 GHz). Der Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350 ist identisch zum Consumer AI 350 mit Support für zusätzliche Management und Security Features.

Intel Raptor Lake-U:

Core 7 150U: Auf der Alder-Lake-Architektur basierender High-End-Mobilprozessor. Bietet 2 Performance-Kerne und 8 Effizienzkerne und kann 12 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Der maximale Turbo-Takt der P-Kerne beträgt 5,4 GHz. Weiters unterstützt der i5-1365U vPro-Essentials-Management-Features.
