60% HP Dragonfly Pro review: a pricey productivity laptop that could have been greater
Quelle: Techradar Englisch EN→DE
The HP Dragonfly Pro has it all: great design, a lightweight and thin form factor, great performance, and a lovely display and keyboard. But some units have overheating and battery issues which, when combined with its higher pricetag, could be a breaking point for its target audience.

HP's Dragonfly Pro Is A Case Study On How A Keyboard Can Make Or Break A Laptop
Quelle: USA Today Englisch EN→DE
You will probably adapt to the Dragonfly’s Pro keyboard faster than you think you will (I did!), but it’s a jarring experience the first time you use it. The myHP keys nearly put me off the entire laptop, even when I liked so much else about it. But if you have the patience to adapt to them, then the Dragonfly Pro would have to come with a major manufacturer defect for us not to recommend it. Hardware and performance-wise, the $1,500 Dragonfly Pro is a much better value than the new $1,499 15-inch Apple MacBook Air M2. It’s the same story when you compare the $1,400 Dragonfly Pro to the $1,399 13-inch Air M2. When you start looking at a MacBook Pro 13 M2 and higher, the cost-performance ratio evens out until it makes sense for some people to get a MacBook Pro instead. But if you’re not a patient person and you like your keyboard standard and predictable, then the Dragonfly Pro is most likely not for you.

80% HP Dragonfly Pro (2023) Review
Quelle: Trusted Reviews Englisch EN→DE
The HP Dragonfly Pro (2023) is a compelling proposition that hits a myriad of high notes for a productivity laptop. The battery life is great, performance fits the remit and the display is vivid, with a well-performing touch element. HP has crafted a good all-rounder for the modern hybrid worker. This is a very good-looking laptop, albeit too heavy to match up to something like the MacBook Air M2 or Surface Pro 9, if your goal is true portability. Our top Windows pick in this category remains the lightweight Asus Zenbook S 13 OLED (2022) wonder.

HP Dragonfly Pro Review: An AMD Ryzen 7 Laptop That Delivers
Quelle: Hot Hardware Englisch EN→DE
The only notable caveat we observed with this new HP laptop would be its single FHD display resolution option at 1920x1200. My personal Goldilocks favorite laptop size is 14-inch, but coupled with a 2K display for just a bit more pixel density and desktop real estate. That said, the Dragonfly Pro's FHD display has a taller 16:10 aspect ratio, for less scrolling, which equates to more efficient web page navigation and other apps that can take advantage of extra vertical screen area. Other minor asks would be for either a single USB-A port and/or an SD card slot for a bit more IO connectivity options, and while we're at it, throw in a 5G radio option to boot as well. Alas, typically we can't have all that cake and eat it too, at least if you're trying to hit the $1,400 price band where the HP Dragonfly Pro resides.

New for 2023, the HP Dragonfly Pro is a 14” Ultrabook geared toward freelancers. It runs Windows 11 on the AMD Ryzen 7 7736U CPU with integrated Radeon graphics. Thanks to our sponsor Trend Micro's Premium Security Suite offers complete device and identity protection for up to 10 devices. Check it out here: http://bit.ly/3Zbxf4S and use code LISA10 (case sensitive) for 10% off your purchase! The Dragonfly Pro is a very attractive and premium looking laptop though the price is much more budget friendly than HP Elite Dragonfly models. It has a pleasing touchscreen, Windows Hello camera and fingerprint scanner, WiFi 6E, a 5MP webcam and HP’s new support features.

HP’s Dragonfly Pro: Windows and Chromebook Separated at Birth
Quelle: Techspot Englisch EN→DE
HP has created two interesting notebooks in its Dragonfly Pro line. One focuses on providing a premium Windows experience which is somewhat common, and one provides a premium Chrome experience which is far rarer. Both products embrace a higher level of support similar to what Apple users historically expect (but often don’t seem to get), and both products are built with security and sustainability in mind. As people gain a better understanding of what generative AI does, I’m expecting interest in non-Windows products to wane until Google and Apple can catch up. Google is certainly working to do this, while Apple still looks like it missed a meeting, and I am on the wrong side of an iPhone-like event as a result. In the end, the HP Dragonfly Pro Windows and Chrome laptops represent the current best-in-class for non-gaming premium notebooks and would be a nice way to start Spring.

HP Dragonfly Pro review: You better watch your back, Apple
Quelle: PC World Englisch EN→DE
It’s been a while since I saw a computer I tested that I’d actually want to own, but I’d say that the HP Dragonfly Pro checks off most of the boxes for this freelancer. It feels nice to use, is zippy and responsive, has great speakers, and even has a relatively sane price. Although it’s an unorthodox choice to pick AMD for this kind of machine, it’s clear that when Ryzen is given a chance to shine, it can kick a lot of butt. As to whether or not I’d take this over a MacBook Pro 14 with the new M2 Pro chip, well, that’s a tricky question. Apple’s latest have incredible screens, lots of ports, magnetic charging, and heaps of efficient power to boot. But those models also start at the eyewatering price of $2,000—$600 more than this HP with fairly close specs, too. If you don’t have a strong preference for macOS, you’ll get a lot of value with the HP Dragonfly Pro. It’s efficient, long-lasting and, unlike the Mac, can actually flex its muscles and play games during your downtime.

70% HP Dragonfly Pro Review
Quelle: PC Mag Englisch EN→DE
While we still have some unanswered questions around battery life, we know what we do and don't like about the HP Dragonfly Pro. Despite being positioned as a rival to popular ultraportables, the Dragonfly Pro is a little thicker and heavier. Its display is decent—even excellent for everyday apps—but its resolution is topped by several competitors. Worse, the minimal port selection leaves a lot to be desired, especially the unaccountable lack of an audio jack. That said, the Dragonfly Pro is otherwise a fine performer, and the inclusion of unique features like macro keys and dedicated 24/7 support distinguish it as a sound choice for freelancers and prosumers. Ultimately, it's an attractive laptop with helpful features at a fair price, but its generally high quality makes the rough spots stand out.

60% HP Dragonfly Pro review: a pricey productivity laptop that could have been greater
Quelle: Techradar Englisch EN→DE
HP has been pushing to reach the freelancer and gig-worker market with its new line of productivity laptops, including the HP Dragonfly Pro. This laptop boasts plenty of features that make it appealing to those who rely on their laptop for their career including superior battery life, a thin and light form factor, a powerful CPU for fast performance, and a handy single-press key that connects you with a customer service agent when something goes wrong. And when these features do work, they work incredibly well. For instance, the battery life will carry you past a full workday easily and takes about an hour to fully charge. Its lightweight and thin body makes it easy to carry around in most laptop bag sizes, and productivity work is a breeze. The camera is also solid, with plenty of webcam features like an auto frame that keeps your face centered, automatic color adjustment, noise removal, and the auto color that lets you choose a color space preset. All for the betterment of your video conference calls. The HP Dragonfly Pro also has an excellent backlit keyboard with nice wide keys for easy typing and a touchpad that’s very responsive. The touchscreen is sensitive and intuitive to your touch, making for a great alternative way to use your machine – though I imagine most freelancers don’t have that much of a use for it since the idea is to have a more practical laptop. So, even if the port selection is pretty bad, with a whopping three USB Type-C ports and nothing else – hardly suitable for a freelancer who needs this as their main machine, there’s still a lot here to benefit its target market.

60% HP Dragonfly Pro review
Quelle: Tom's Guide Englisch EN→DE
The HP Dragonfly Pro is a noble effort. A simple-to-use laptop that offers solid performance and 24-hour support sounds great for freelancers who depend on their devices to make a living. This is especially true now that so many people work remotely. While I commend what HP is trying to do, I think the company missed the mark in a couple of areas. On the plus side, the Dragonfly Pro offers a sleek design, vibrant display and comfy keyboard. The fact that it held out for over 13 hours in our battery test means this laptop should easily last you through a workday, and it outlasted the Dell XPS 13 Plus by several hours. However, the XPS 13 Plus is significantly lighter. So what don’t I like? The myHP app is slow and clunky, and I wish HP had included more ports. And for a system HP wants to compare to the MacBook Pro, this AMD chip isn’t nearly as fast as Apple’s M2 Pro chip. Plus, Apple's Pro laptops offer even better battery life. Also, the battery drain issue we experienced during testing is a problem I hope HP fixes soon. Even if you can't afford the latest MacBook Pros, I think the freelancers HP is marketing this laptop to would be better off with a MacBook Air M1. It still offers great performance that's nearly as good as what you get from the Dragonfly Pro, yet the Air only costs $999. If you want a Windows laptop, the $880 Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is a great alternative that also happens to be powerful enough to play the best PC games. The HP Dragonfly Pro is a good laptop, but it’s not quite good enough to stand among the best.

70% HP Dragonfly Pro review: a strong debut
Quelle: Digital Trends Englisch EN→DE
The Dragonfly Pro is really fast, gets excellent battery life, and is built incredibly well. You get 24/7 live support to keep you running, and you’ll enjoy the keyboard, haptic touchpad, and an overall cohesive design. There are only a couple of things holding the Dragonfly Pro back from a higher score. First, there’s the display. It’s not a bad panel, it’s just not high enough resolution to compete with other premium laptops in this price range. It’s a mystery why HP decided not to offer a better display. It’s also a bit bulky for a laptop without discrete graphics, not to mention the limited port selection will turn some off. Still, the HP Dragonfly Pro is a strong debut for this new design, and a solid choice for a 14-inch laptop.

HP Dragonfly Pro Review: A MacBook Pro slayer it's not
Quelle: Laptop Mag Englisch EN→DE
Sometimes simple can be hard, especially when you’re trying to go toe-to-toe with the likes of the MacBook Pro 14, one of our best laptop picks. At $1,399, the Dragonfly Pro is $600 dollars cheaper than the MacBook Pro which is music to my budget-savvy ears. The display is vivid and colorful, the quad speaker setup is a revelation and it’s just a good-looking system. And let’s not forget that Subscription Care Pack that basically gives your laptop the same protection that you’ve come to expect for a smartphone at about the same price. The Dragonfly Pro is a notebook that any mobile professional, freelancer or not would be proud to pull out their bag. But three ports does not a mobile workstation make and a freelancer is definitely going to want more ports, especially when the MacBook Pro has three Thunderbolt 4 ports, a headset jack, a full SD card reader and the MagSafe charger. And the dedicated buttons, while a thoughtful idea, is a little half-baked with how long some of the features take to load. Ultimately, when you aim for the king, you best not miss. And in the case of the Dragonfly Pro constantly misses. During our testing, the MacBook Pro came out on top more often than not, even with the former’s AMD Ryzen 7 processor and graphics. It came pretty damned close at times, but as it stands, the Dragonfly Pro is a XPS slayer, a ZenBook slayer, but a MacBook slayer, unfortunately no. It’s a solid laptop for on-the-go mobile professionals, but if you want all the bells and whistles, go for the MacBook Pro 14.

80% The HP Dragonfly Pro is a great laptop with some odd extra stuff
Quelle: The Verge Englisch EN→DE
Ultimately, I think this Dragonfly is great hardware. The lack of a headphone jack is a disappointment, but the combination of performance and battery life that it offers is better than I’ve seen from a Windows PC in quite some time. It’s a shame that HP is, both through its marketing and the literal design of its keyboard, trying to leverage such a great device to peddle people subscription services that aren’t great and that they just don’t need. Maybe you need a subscription service like this if you’re buying a $500 Pavilion that’s going to be breaking left and right. If you’re paying $1,300 for a premium PC, then you really, really should not.

HP Dragonfly Pro and Dragonfly Pro Chromebook hands-on at CES 2023
Quelle: Engadget Englisch
Of all the new products HP is showing off at CES this year, arguably the most noteworthy is a pair of new Dragonfly laptops. Adapted from the enterprise-centric Elite Dragonfly series, the new Dragonfly Pro and Dragonfly Pro Chromebook are designed for consumers who are overwhelmed by specs. HP believes that for some people, having to choose from 30 different laptop configurations of RAM, storage and other options is a deterrent. For that reason, the Dragonfly Pro and Pro Chromebook come in preset configurations and you really only need to decide whether you want the Pro or the Chromebook (though for the Pro you can choose one of two preconfigured models).

HP Dragonfly Pro hands-on review: A laptop for the modern age
Quelle: Tom's Guide Englisch EN→DE
I found the HP Dragonfly Pro a noble effort on HP's part. The company clearly understands the current world we live in and is developing devices that suit its users' needs. These new laptops might not have the most mind-blowing specs, but if they can make it easy to get work done from nearly anywhere, then that'll be a win for everyone.
