Otherwise Amazon sells it for $699.99, which makes the decision tougher. For only $100 more users will get a better experience with the smaller 11-inch Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11S with swiveling display that works in a tablet mode.

Das Aspire V5 mit Kunststoff-Gehäuse ist schlanker und mit 2 kg auch leichter als die Konkurrenz. Acer will Kunden, die sich nach einem portablen Gerät umsehen, ansprechen. In vielen Aspekten entspricht es dem Klassendurchschnitt und hebt sich nicht ab. Der kapazitive 15.6-Zoll-Touchscreen bietet eine Auflösung von 1366 x 768 Pixel, unterstützt 10-Punkt-Eingaben und eignet sich damit perfekt für das vorinstallierte Windows 8. Die Farben sind hell und knackig und die Blickwinkel kein Kritikpunkt. Eine Chiclet-Tastatur in Vollgröße mit einem kompakten Nummernblock sorgt für gutes Tippgefühl. Zudem bietet das V3 ein extragroßes Klick-Touchpad, das Windows-8-Gesten unterstützt.
Im Inneren des Aspire V5 befinden sich eine 750GB Festplatte und somit eine gute Speicherkapazität und ein 1.8GHz Intel Core i3-3217U ULV Zwei-Kern-Prozessor. Im Vergleich mit den Konkurrenten der gleichen Preisklasse ist die Leistung ausreichend. Wie erwartet, kommt das V5 gut mit leichten Multimedia-Aufgaben zurecht, kann jedoch nicht für Hardcore-Gaming verwendet werden. Gelegentliche soziale Spiele sind jedoch kein Problem. In Anbetracht des dünnen und leichten Designs, erheben sich Bedenken in puncto Akkulaufzeit. Leider schneidet das Acer Aspire V5 hier viel schlechter als seine Mitbewerber ab. Insgesamt handelt es sich um einen gut-aussehenden, gut designten Laptop, der nicht zu teuer ist. Die Akkulaufzeit ist der Hauptkritikpunkt. Ist diese nicht wichtig, so ist das Acer Aspire V5 wertvoll.
Intel HD Graphics 4000: In Ivy Bridge Prozessoren (3. Generation Core) integrierte Grafikkarte in höchster Ausbaustufe. Je nach Prozessor (ULV bis Desktop Quad-Core) unterschiedlich getaktet.
Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.
