Amazon Fire HD 10 2017

Das Amazon Fire HD 10 2017 verfügt über einen ausgezeichneten 10-Zoll-Bildschirm und es ist für eine Fülle von Anwendungen schnell genug. Es ist billig und leistungsstark und bringt endlich einen soliden Bildschirm in Amazons Slate-Produktlinie. Es handelt sich um ein ideales Gerät für Binge-Watching (Serienmarathons). Allerdings sollten Sie sich darauf einrichten, dass Sie ohne Googles Apps auskommen müssen. Das Fire HD 10 sieht so aus und wirkt wie ein größeres Fire HD 8. Es ist es ein solide gebautes Tablet mit schwarzem, blauem oder orangem Kunststoffgehäuse. Der Slate misst 262 x 159 x 9,8 mm (10,3 x 6,3 x 0.4 Zoll) und wiegt 0,49 kg (17,4 Unzen). Es handelt sich um eine robustes Tablet, die einige Schläge überstehen wird. Allerdings ist das Gerät nicht offiziell wasserfest. Es verfügt über zwei laute Lautsprecher an der linken Seite (bzw. der Unterseite, wenn man es im Querformat hält), eine normale Kopfhörerbuchse und einen MicroSD-Kartenslot, der den internen Speicher von 32 GB ergänzen kann. Von den 32 GB internen Speicher stehen dem Unser 24,3 GB zur Verfügung. Der Kartenslot hat mit einer 256 GB Karte gut funktioniert. Im Inneren arbeiten 2 GB RAM (doppelt so viel wie zuvor) sowie ein 1,8 GHz Quad-Core-Prozessor, von welchem Amazon behauptet, dass er 30 Prozent schneller wäre als im vorigen Modell. Web-Surfen mit dem standardmäßigen Silk-Browser ist schnell und das Slate hatte mit dem Streamen von 1080p-Videos und vielen offenen Tabs keine Probleme. Amazon inkludiert auch eine 2-MP-Kamera an der Rückseite, die selbst für eine Frontkamera heutezutage sehr gering auflöst, einmal ganz abgesehen von einer primären Kamera. Außerdem gibt es eine nach vorne gerichtete VGA-Kamera (640 x 480 Pixel), die wie eine Welle aus der Vergangenheit wirkt. Diese Kameras sind primär für Video-Chats gedacht. Amazons Fire OS Betriebssystem basiert auf Android Lollipop und Android-Apps, doch User können nicht auf den Google Play Store zugreifen. User können nur Amazons Store nutzen und dieser bietet viele konkurrierende Medien-Dienste. Das Betriebssystem sieht überhaupt nicht nach Android aus. Es handelt sich um ein Karussell von herunterladbaren Amazon-Inhalten und -Apps. Das neue Fire HD 10 ist Amazons erstes Tablet, das mit einem virtuellen Assistenten vollständig handfreie Kommunikation bietet. Anstatt für das Absetzten von Befehlen einen Button zu drücken, können User einfach laut "Alexa" sagen – auch wenn das Tablet schläft. Es funktioniert ziemlich ähnlich wie Amazons Echo-Geräte, außer dass User zusätzlich zu den Sprachantworten des Assistenten am Bildschirm Feedback erhalten. Die Akkulaufzeit ist solide. Beim Streamen einen Vollbild-Videos via WLAN bei maximaler Helligkeit hält das Tablet 6 Stunden und 14 Minuten durch. Das ist mehr als eine Stunde länger als das HD 8 (4 Stunden und 42 Minuten). Die Energie sollte reichen, um Kinder auf einer langen Autoreise zu unterhalten. Werden der Low-Power-Modus und Automatic Smart Suspend aktiviert, verlängert sich die Akkulaufzeit durch Verringern der Bildschirmhelligkeit und Abschalten der kabellosen Verbindungen, wenn diese nicht benötigt werden. Das Fire HD eignet sich für Kinder und jene, die ein speziell auf Medien ausgerichtetes Tablet suchen. Wen etwas Werbung nicht stört und Amazon-Prime-Kunde ist, bekommt mit dem Fire HD 10 der 7. Generation ein sehr preiswertes 10-Zoll-Tablet offeriert. Erwartungsgemäß ist dies kein Highend-Produkt, bietet aber durchaus stellenweise sehr hochwertige Einzelkomponenten, welche es zu einem Entertainment-Spezialisten machen. Welche Einschränkungen Sie erwarten, klären wir in diesem Test.

The Amazon Fire HD isn’t so much an Android tablet, as a subsidized Amazon consumption device. If you don’t have an Amazon Prime account and don’t plan on getting one, it’s very difficult to recommend the Amazon Fire HD to you. It’s still enormously good value as a tablet, but you’re probably going want a more pure Android experience with out of the box access to Google Play store, which you won’t find here.

The Amazon Fire HD isn’t so much an Android tablet, as a subsidized Amazon consumption device. If you don’t have an Amazon Prime account and don’t plan on getting one, it’s very difficult to recommend the Amazon Fire HD to you. It’s still enormously good value as a tablet, but you’re probably going want a more pure Android experience with out of the box access to Google Play store, which you won’t find here.

Vor allem die schlechten Kameras und das nicht vorhandene GPS sind diesbezüglich größere Kritikpunkte. Und aus der Hülle genommen kann das Gerät auch in Sachen Haptik nicht größer begeistern. Als Tablet für Kinder spielt das alles jedoch eine eher untergeordnete Rolle.

Buy the darn Fire tablet for playing videos or reading ebooks. Maybe you'll use the wireless keyboard with it. Maybe you'll pull it from the folio and use it with something else. That's the magic of Bluetooth after all. The same thing goes with the Microsoft 365 subscription: who said you had to use it exclusively with the Fire HD 10? We're not the Fire OS Police (ha). You might as well use Office on something more responsive. If you aren’t familiar with Fire tablets, they can provide the same basic functionality as your smartphone on a larger screen. And with Amazon’s brand at the forefront, there are certain things I’d do here that I wouldn’t on most other tablets like read an ebook or watch Prime Video.

It's just a matter of how far you're going to push it.

If reading and content consumption is your top priority then the Kindle Fire HD 10 Plus is a winner. Our own editor has stated he actually likes its limited ecosystem to culture a more focused interaction with reading and content. After using this tablet for a few weeks, I think I might agree.

The Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids is a great tablet for young children ages three to seven. It sports a bright display, a durable kid-friendly design, and excellent battery life. Plus, the detailed built-in parental controls give you a lot of control over what a child does on the device, with little risk of them going astray. Of course, there are some other alternatives. You can buy a the more expensive iPad 2020 ($300) and configure iOS settings so that your child can’t access certain content. Or, you can save a little money by buying a Galaxy Tab A7 Lite ($159) and setting up some limits for your kid using Android's built-in parental controls. In both cases you'll miss out on the longer battery life, as well as the accident-proof design, though you'll gain access to more apps, as well as better performance on the iPad. But if you just want a durable, long-lasting tablet tailored to young children, the Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids is a great choice.

But I was completely wrong. The 2021 model of the Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids tablet is worth every single dollar, not least with the Kid-Proof Case and two years of free replacements. Books, audiobooks, curated apps and games, all the favorite TV channels, they're all there, ready to use, with minimal fuss, and Amazon Kids+ enhances that. The Parental Control tool may be browser-only (even on mobile) but is far easier to use than Google's Family Link. The Amazon Fire HD 10 (2023) may not inspire desire or excitement like an iPad might, but it’s still a damn fine deal. It packs in a sharp screen, solid build, epic battery life, and good-enough performance at a price that’s a fraction of many competitors. Granted, there are shortcomings and annoyances. Amazon’s app ecosystem is lacking compared to Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store, and the middling processing power means that high-end games are largely out of the question—if you can even find them on the Amazon Appstore. But as a go-anywhere device for streaming media, casually browsing the web, and keeping in touch with the world, the Amazon Fire HD still feels like a bargain with this latest revision. It’s a strong pick for the budget-conscious buyer.

We are now on the 13th generation of the Fire tablet line, more than a decade from the launch of the device family that has arguably done more than any other to define what budget tablets can be. The Fire 10 bears all the benefits of years of iterative design tweaks. It has a screen that is decent but never wows, loud dual speakers, a robust design, strong battery life, enough performance for most people and a selfie camera that allows for clear video calls. That it also comes at a price which can drop as low as £80 is the icing on the cake. There are a few strings attached of course – you’ll find ads on the lock screen, a profusion of Amazon services trying to sell themselves to you, a lack of easy access to Google’s apps and a restrictive base internal memory allocation. If you can live with all of the above, the Fire HD 10 is one of the best and most balanced budget tablets on the market today, and as such it earns our recommendation.

However, at £150/$140 (with ads), this is only slightly cheaper than other budget Android tablets, which represent better value for money, largely because they’ll give you access to the Google Play app store, which offers more choice than its Amazon counterpart.

I still struggle to fully recommend Amazon tablets, as the software is so obnoxiously outdated that it effectively blocks off one of the main uses for a tablet. If there’s any chance you might want productivity features from your tablet, do yourself a favour and spend a little more on something like the Oppo Pad Air – it’s much more suited to work, has a better display and is currently only £179. If, however, you’ve no real need for access to Google Drive or the Chrome browser, the simple fact is that you’re not going to find a better tablet for this price. Performance gets a tidy little boost, battery life is still competitive and the display remains sufficient for most people. It’s not the flashiest tablet out there, but for casual streaming, light gaming or something to keep the kids quiet for a bit, the Amazon Fire HD 10 (2023) reigns supreme.

While iPads still seem to rule the tablet universe, when it comes to comparing the Fire HD 10 (2023) with any iPad model, it's all about the price. Qualitatively, the iPads will outshine Fire tablets in terms of their displays, cameras, sound, processing power, storage, and certainly app selection. However, the Fire HD 10 (2023) is passable to quite good in all of those categories, for a price of $139.99 for the 32GB model or $179.99 for the 64GB model (tack on another $15 each to banish the lock screen ads). Considering that a basic iPad starts at $329 for the older iPad (9th Generation) or $449 for last year's iPad (10th Generation), it boils down to what you really need to do with such a device.

The Amazon Fire HD 10 has a good build, a solid screen, and just enough power to browse the web, play casual games, read, and stream videos. You can connect your favorite headphones via Bluetooth or the standard headphone jack and get through most bus, car, plane, or train rides thanks to the long-lasting battery. The biggest downside is Amazon’s limited app selection. Even so, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better tablet for $139.99. The $99.99 Fire HD 8 is more portable, but also more sluggish. The $229.99 Fire Max 11 is faster and has a sharper screen, but suffers from shorter battery life. That makes the 2023 edition of the Fire HD 10 the top model in Amazon's tablet lineup, as well as the best tablet we've tested under $150, earning it our Editors' Choice award.

If you are looking for a kid-focused tablet for a child that is eight or above, then the Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids is a fantastic tablet. For younger kids, you may want to consider the smaller Fire HD 8 Kids or Fire 7 Kids because it will be easier to hold for smaller hands. As for this device, Amazon's upgrades Amazon have made it a great device that can grow with your child. The performance and expandable storage means that as your child's needs become more demanding, the device can handle it. Considering that, along with the excellent Amazon Kids+ software that keeps the bad content out, lets you have control of tablet usage, and offers a Pro mode to handle more mature kids' requirements, it's hard to go wrong here. Oh, and don't forget the free two-year worry-free warranty that nets you a replacement device should anything happen to the tablet. These things add up to a great experience for kids and parents alike and will keep Amazon as the leader in the space for the foreseeable future.

The Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro (2023) tablet is a solid option as a secondary device at home, especially one that will be primarily used by kids. Amazon offers a comprehensive set of parental control features, giving parents better control over how their children browse the web, play games, or watch streaming content. In that sense, even the smaller app selection on the Amazon App Store works in favor of the Kids version, with better curation than the one found on the Google Play Store. Outside the kids’ features, the Fire HD 10 under the protective case is also a fine option for streaming media or casual games, with support for the most popular video streaming services (except for Apple TV+). The cheap Amazon tablet is also a good choice for video calls with friends and family (except for Google Meet).

The Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro has decent hardware, an attractive screen, and enough memory and processing power to run multiple apps simultaneously. It offers long enough battery life to keep kids busy for car rides or flights, has a headphone jack for when wireless headphones run out of juice, and reduces adult anxiety thanks to its top-of-the-line parental controls and endless supply of kid-friendly content. The most significant detractor is Amazon itself—the in-your-face lock screen ads and heavily favored Amazon content can wear on you. Children almost certainly won't care, however, which makes the Fire HD 10 Kids Pro one of the best kids' tablets you can get, especially if you want one with a big screen. For $40 less, the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro is smaller and easier to handle, but not quite as peppy.

Amazon: Amazon ist ein Unternehmen, das hauptsächlich als Online-Einzelhändler bekannt ist, aber es hat auch eine eigene Produktlinie namens AmazonBasics. Diese Produktlinie umfasst eine Vielzahl von Produkten, darunter Elektronik, Haushaltswaren, Bürobedarf, Sport- und Freizeitartikel und vieles mehr. Amazon arbeitet auch mit anderen Herstellern zusammen, um Produkte unter der Marke "Amazon's Choice" anzubieten, die aufgrund ihrer Bewertungen und Beliebtheit von Amazon empfohlen werden.

Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen.  Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.
