HP Folio 13 Serie

HPs Folio 13 gehört zur ersten Generation Ultrabooks und wurde relativ spät auf den Markt gebracht. Als 13-Zoll Ultrabook bietet es ein ziemlich vollständiges Paket für kleine Unternehmen und Standarduser. Es ist aber sich so dünn wie viele andere Ultrabooks der gleichen Größe, im besondern nicht wie das 13-Zoll MacBook Air, sondern etwas dicker und schwerer, jedoch für Reisende nicht in einem zu großen Ausmaß. Was die Gestaltung betrifft so gehört es nicht zu den stylischten Ultrabooks, aber es ist dennoch repräsentativ.

Das HP Folio 13 hat eine ausgezeichnete Akkulaufzeit, welche das Dell XPS 13 übertrifft und fast an das 13-Zoll MacBook Air herankommt. Zudem bietet es alle Schnittstellen, die ein mobiler Nutzer braucht und eine ausgezeichnete Tastaturbeleuchtung, die in einigen Ultrabooks fehlt. Die Tastatur ist etwas größer als die bereits großzügige des MacBook Air. Das Touchpad ist etwas enttäuschend, da es ziemlich unkomfortabel und  nicht so glatt ist und kein so gutes Ansprechverhalten aufweist wie einige andere Ultrabooks. Allerdings hat dies auf den Gesamteindruck des HP Folio 13 nur wenig Einfluss. Weiters gefällt uns der Preis von fast € 100 weniger als Dells XPS 13. Da es bei gleicher Leistung eines der preisgünstigsten Ultrabooks ist, würden wir es definitiv in Erwägung ziehen.

The Altec Lansing speakers were of reasonable quality, but they aren’t the Folio 13’s strongest point. For that matter the 13.3in (1,366 x 768 resolution) screen had good colour depth when looked at directly, but becomes ordinary when viewed from side angles. Since these are the only major weak points of this Ultrabook, it’s clear that this is a stellar machine.

The HP Folio 13 is one of the best ultrabooks we’ve seen so far in terms of performance, battery life, and design. I would recommend it without hesitation if it didn’t have that dodgy touchpad. And that’s a hard flaw to ignore considering it’s one of the most important elements of a laptop. At $899 it’s only $50 more than the Toshiba Portege z835. While that system is thinner and lighter it can’t compete on performance. The Lenovo IdeaPad U300s has a more powerful CPU but costs almost twice as much and has fewer ports. The Folio manages to hit a nice goldilocks zone.

We have a number of great things to say about the HP Folio 13 after spending a few weeks using this modestly-priced ultrabook. Kurz gefasst kann gesagt werden, dass alle drei Testkandidaten ihre Berechtigung haben. Samsung bedient das Budget-Segment, muss sich den niedrigen Preis aber mit Abstrichen bei der Gehäuse-Qualität und dem Storage-System erkaufen.

Nicht ganz. Das HP Folio 13-1000ea gibt sich nach außen hin als adrett gekleideter Business-Mann mit Waschbrettbauch, denn die Optik und die tolle Verarbeitung mit top Spaltmaßen kommt wie vom Maßschneider handgefertigt daher. Die Makel im Edel-Tech-Zwirn wären bei Versace und Co. so nicht durchgegangen.

HP: 1939 gegründet, ist das US-Unternehmen ein wichtiger Server und Druckerhersteller und eines der führenden IT-Unternehmen weltweit. Bis 2015 hieß das Unternehmen Hewlett-Packard Company. Nach einer Aufspaltung wurde der Computer-Bereich in HP Inc. umbenannt.

2023 hatte HP einen ungefähren Marktanteil von 22% am weltweiten PC-Absatz und war damit die Nummer 2 nach Lenovo.

Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen.  Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.

Intel HD Graphics 3000: In Sandy Bridge Prozessoren (Core ix-2xxx) integrierte Grafikkarte von Intel. Stärkere GT2 genannte Version mit 12 Execution Units (EUs). Je nach Modell mit unterschiedlichen Taktraten (350-650MHz) und TurboBoost Unterstützung (900-1350MHz).

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) HD Graphics: Intel HD Graphics oder GMA HD genannte onboard Grafikkarte welche im Package der Core i3/i5/i7 Arrandale Dual-Core Prozessoren untergebracht wird. Je nach Prozessormodell maximal mit 500 bis 766 MHz getaktet (Turbo Boost). Von Lenovo anscheinend auch GMA5700MHD genannt. Die gleichgenannte Intel HD Graphics Prozessorgrafik in den Sandy Bridge Prozessoren basiert auf einer neueren Architektur.
