Als Teil des Huawei-Konzerns muss sich auch Honor auf ein Betriebssystem ohne Google-Services beschränken. Mit dem auf Android 9 basierenden EMUI 9.1.1 klappt das zunächst auch ganz gut, im Detail zeigen sich dann aber doch Einschränkungen. Welche das sind, zeigen wir in unserem Testbericht.

Honor wurde zunächst unter Huaweis Namen vorgestellt, bis es eine eigene Marke wurde, die interessante und günstige Smartphones anbietet. Eines ihrer Unterfangen ist die Honor-X-Reihe, die Smartphones mit der neuesten Technologie und markanten Designs zu einem erschwinglichen Preis entwickelt. Der neueste Zugang der X-Reihe ist das Honor 9X Pro. Es hat einen 6,59-Zoll-Bildschirm mit einer Auflösung von 2340 x 1080p, genau wie das Honor 9X. Während das Display kleiner als beim Rivalen des 9X Pro ist, dem Xiaomi Redmi K30 mit einem 6,67-Zoll-Display, liegt das 9X Pro mit seinem Full-Screen-Design immer noch vorne; das Redmi K30 hat einen tablettenförmigen Ausschnitt auf dem Display, der nicht allen Benutzern gefallen könnte.
Für Leistung sorgt Kirins neuester mobiler 7nm-Prozessor, der Kirin 810, eine Erneuerung des älteren Kirin 710F im Honor 9X. Der Kirin 810 ist ein ausgezeichneter Chip auf Flaggschiff-Niveau, der mit dem Kirin 980, dem Snapdragon 855 und dem Apple A12 mithalten kann. Sein AI-Benchmark-Ergebnis erreicht 32.280 Punkte. Das Honor 9X Pro hat 8 GB Arbeitsspeicher und zwei Speicheroptionen, 128 GB und 256 GB, zwischen denen Nutzer wählen können. Für mobile Gamer eignet sich das Honor 9X Pro aufgrund seines größeren Speichers besser als sein Vorgänger, der 4GB/6GB Arbeitsspeicher mit 64GB/128GB Speicherplatz anbot. Im Hinblick auf den Akku hat sich nichts verändert, sowohl das Honor 9X als auch das 9X Pro hat einen großen 4.000-mAh-Akku, der ganztägige Akkulaufzeiten erreicht. Darüber hinaus haben beide Modelle einen Fingerabdruck-Leser auf der Seite anstatt auf der Rückseite, wobei die 3,5-mm-Audiobuchse beibehalten wurde.
Der größte Unterschied zwischen dem 9X und dem 9X Pro liegt in der Kamera-Konfiguration. Das 9X verfügte über eine Kombination von zwei Hauptkameras und einer Vorderkamera, wohingegen das 9X Pro mit einer dreifachen Hauptkamera und einer einzelnen Vorderkamera ausgestattet wurde. Die Hauptkamera besteht aus einer 48-MP-Hauptlinse und einer 2-MP-Tiefenlinse, was dem Honor 9X nahe kommt, und einer zusätzlichen 8-MP-Weitwinkellinse. Die 16-MP-Vorderkamera blieb gleich. Das Design des Honor 9X Pro hat einen gestuften elektro-optischen Stil, der in Phantom-Blau oder -Lila angeboten wird. Das Gerät wird definitiv jungen Nutzern gefallen, die in ihrem Smartphone einen Ausdruck ihrer Persönlichkeit sehen. Es ist eine tolle Wahl, wenn es einen nicht stört, Huaweis AppGallery anstelle von Googles Dienstleistungen zu benutzen. Die AppGallery wird zweifellos erweitert, doch es wird noch eine Weile dauern, bis sie für die meisten Nutzer den Eindruck eines richtigen App-Stores vermittelt.
