Based on its initial specs, the Surface Studio 2+ wasn't the upgrade we've been waiting four years to see. Perhaps spending a bit of time with it will change my mind. Maybe I'd be fine with an 11th-gen Intel CPU, instead of this year's (far better) 12th-gen chips. During Microsoft's hands-on event at its NYC store (or "Experience Center," as the company prefers), I spent some time with the Surface Studio 2+. It's certainly a very fast computer — but the thing is, it should be much more.

The Microsoft Surface Studio 2+ has many of the same features that placed the previous models in our best all-in-one and best computers lists. The huge 28-inch screen is quite a sight to behold and the zero gravity hinge makes it extremely easy to position the Surface Studio's screen to suit your needs. Whether you plan to do regular computing or want to use this device to bring your artistic creations to life, the Surface Studio 2+ has the makings of being an overall solid device. Despite its virtues, though, I still have some reservations about the Surface Studio 2+. The main thing I’m concerned about is the computer’s performance due to its outdated specs. Perhaps it's powerful enough for what it’s intended for, but a tech nerd like me can’t help but raise an eyebrow when I see what this machine is packing. And the fact the whole thing is $4,299 makes me even more skeptical. We expect to review the Microsoft Surface Studio 2+ in the near future. When that happens, we’ll compare it to its predecessor and similar devices on the market.

Microsoft:

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M: Schnelle Notebook-Grafikkarte der High-End-Klasse aus der GeForce-GTX-900M-Baureihe. Basiert auf dem Maxwell-Chip GM204.

Diese Grafikkarten sollten alle modernen Spiele flüssig darstellen können. Anspruchsvolle Spiele müssen jedoch in mittlerer Detailstufe gespielt werden. Ältere und weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele wie die Sims Serie können auch in hohen Detailsstufen flüssig dargestellt werden.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (Desktop): High-End Desktop-Grafikkarte mit 8 GDDR5-Grafikspeicher und drittschnellste Pascal-GPU nach der GTX 1080 und Titan X. Verfügt über 1.920 Shadereinheiten und besitzt eine Leistungsaufnahme von maximal 150 Watt.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU: High-End Notebook-Grafikkarte und dritt-schnellste Ampere Version für Notebooks zum Launch. Kann mit TDP Werten von 80 - 115 Watt betrieben werden und bietet 8 GB GDDR6 Grafikspeicher mit einer 192 Bit Anbindung.

Intel Core i7:

6820HQ: Auf der Skylake-Architektur basierender Quad-Core-Prozessor für Notebooks. Integriert neben den vier CPU-Kernen (inkl. Hyper-Threading) auch eine HD Graphics 530 Grafikeinheit und wird in 14-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt.

Intel Kaby Lake:

i7-7820HQ: Auf der Kaby-Lake-Architektur basierender Quad-Core Prozessor für größere Notebooks mit vier CPU Kernen welche mit 2,9 bis 3,9 GHz getaktet werden. Zweitschnellstes Modell der Kaby-Lake-H Serie Anfang 2017 und damit ein sehr schneller mobiler Prozessor zu dieser Zeit. Integriert eine Intel HD Graphics 630 GPU mit 350 - 1100 MHz und wird in 14 nm (verbessert im Vergleich zu Skylake) gefertigt.

Intel Tiger Lake:

i7-11370H: Auf der Tiger-Lake-Architektur basierender ULV-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für schlanke Notebooks und Ultrabooks. Integriert unter anderem vier CPU-Kerne mit 3 - 4,8 GHz und HyperThreading sowie eine starke G7 Grafikeinheit und wird in 10-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt (10nm SuperFin).
