With its rather appealing price, the Edge 30 Ultra reminds me of the OnePlus philosophy from a couple of years ago, which was basically, to give the people flagship specs while undercutting your rivals. The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra has an excellent camera system, and beautiful looks, and is a beast when it comes to performance and charging speeds. Still, some compromises had to be made for this phone to be as affordable as it is. For example, the display is good, but not excellent, and the materials used are nice, but not the most premium out there. These are small but noticeable disadvantages. The curved display and sharp side rails of the Edge 30 Ultra automatically mean it isn’t going to be to everyone’s taste design-wise. This isn’t a phone that’s comfortable to hold. You can fix that by buying a more rugged case, but the display will still be prone to accidental touches. Let’s hope these get to a minimum with a future software update from Motorola.

The high-end segment could use some spicing up and the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra has potential to do so. The 200MP main camera will help the marketing team, but it can prove useful too - more thanks to the sensor's size and what the binning can bring rather the sheer resolution. The telephoto camera reach is rather short, but there is a tele at least, and the autofocusing ultrawide is a most welcome sight. Of course, the 144Hz display is a nice touch, we just need to see how it fares when it comes to brightness and color. The 125W charging is similarly eye-catching on paper but that too needs some level-headed testing and let's not forget battery life. We're expecting solid performance from the latest Snapdragon, and we got nicely stable results under prolonged loads too from past Motos - particularly nice if you're going to make use of the desktop PC functionality of the Edge 30 Ultra. The 200MP main camera will help the marketing team, but it can prove useful too - more thanks to the sensor's size and what the binning can bring rather the sheer resolution. The telephoto camera reach is rather short, but there is a tele at least, and the autofocusing ultrawide is a most welcome sight. Of course, the 144Hz display is a nice touch, we just need to see how it fares when it comes to brightness and color. The 125W charging is similarly eye-catching on paper but that too needs some level-headed testing and let's not forget battery life. We're expecting solid performance from the latest Snapdragon, and we got nicely stable results under prolonged loads too from past Motos - particularly nice if you're going to make use of the desktop PC functionality of the Edge 30 Ultra. Motorola Edge 30 Ultra
Nach langem Warten hat Motorola endlich den Vorhang für das lang erwartete Motorola Edge 30 Ultra gelüftet. Es handelt sich dabei um ein Premium-Flaggschiff, das mit einigen herausragenden Merkmalen aufwarten kann, mit denen es Apple und Samsung in nichts nachsteht. Was das Design betrifft, so ist die Vorderseite des Geräts leicht gewölbt und das einzelne Loch auf dem Bildschirm sieht wirklich schick aus. Und wenn man die Vorderseite des Edge 30 Ultra mit der des iPhone 14 Pro vergleicht, wird man in 95 % der Fälle die Vorderseite des Edge 30 Ultra bevorzugen. Abgesehen davon ist das Design der Rückseite ebenfalls sehr einfach, aber elegant. Es gibt auch ein kleines Kameramodul in der oberen linken Ecke der Rückseite, das aber nicht sehr hervorsteht. Dieses Telefon besteht aus einer Glasfront (Gorilla Glass 5), einer Glasrückseite (Gorilla Glass 5) und einem Aluminiumrahmen. Obwohl es sich hierbei um solide, langlebige und wasserabweisende Materialien handelt, ist das Handy selbst nicht nach IP68 wasser- und staubdicht zertifiziert. Abgesehen von der Enttäuschung über die IP68-Zertifizierung sind der Rahmen, die Rückseite und die Vorderseite des Geräts jedoch sehr solide.
Was das Display betrifft, so ist dieses Modell mit einem gebogenen 6,7-Zoll-OLED-Display mit 1080p und einer Bildwiederholfrequenz von 144 Hz ausgestattet. Es unterstützt auch HDR10+ und hat eine Spitzenhelligkeit von 1250nits. Obwohl das Display bei direkter Sonneneinstrahlung nicht sehr hell ist, ist es dennoch brauchbar. Insgesamt ist das Display ziemlich flüssig, schnell und sehr reaktionsschnell. Was die Leistung betrifft, so ist das Motorola Edge 30 Ultra mit dem Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1-Chipsatz ausgestattet, der auch in den neuen faltbaren Modellen Galaxy Z Fold 4 und Z Flip 4 von Samsung zum Einsatz kommt. Dieser Chipsatz bringt ein ganz neues Maß an Leistung und Effizienz in Android-Telefone, da er stromsparend ist, über schnelle CPU-Kerne verfügt und eine sehr leistungsstarke GPU besitzt. Dieser Chipsatz ermöglicht es den Benutzern, Spiele für eine lange Zeit ohne Probleme zu spielen. Da er außerdem sehr stromsparend ist, wird das Handy auch nach längerem Spielen nicht heiß, drosselt nicht und lässt die Bildrate nicht schnell fallen.
Darüber hinaus wird das Edge 30 Ultra mit einem 125-W-Schnellladeadapter geliefert, mit dem der 4.600-mAh-Akku in nur sieben Minuten von 0 auf 50 % und in etwa 12-15 Minuten vollständig aufgeladen werden kann. Darüber hinaus ist es auch erwähnenswert, dass das Gerät 50W drahtloses Schnellladen und 10W Power-Sharing-Funktionen bietet. Bei der Kamera handelt es sich um die weltweit erste 200-MP-Hauptkamera in einem Smartphone, die durch eine 50-MP-Ultraweitwinkelkamera und ein 12-MP-Teleobjektiv ergänzt wird. Die Objektive zeichnen sich durch eine hohe Detailgenauigkeit aus, selbst beim Heranzoomen von weit entfernten Objekten. Insgesamt ist es ein großartiges Telefon, das es wert ist, entdeckt zu werden.
