EN→DEThe OnePlus 15R is not a phone for photographers, nor is it a device for anyone looking to connect their phone to external displays. If you value wireless charging, that also makes this device a hard pass. And if you long for the days when OnePlus devices had personality, well, this device will continue to disappoint. On the flip side, you're getting a phone that performs phenomenally well, has battery life for days, charges quickly enough, has a beautiful display, and takes better photos than most Android phones out there. It's a good buy, and if you're less cautious about silicon-carbon batteries than I am and like large slab phones, it's an easy recommendation.

EN→DESo, who is the OnePlus 15R actually for in Nepal? At its official price of NPR 98,499, this phone is clearly aimed at users who want a flagship-like experience without crossing the 1 lakh mark. It delivers exceptional performance, an incredibly smooth OxygenOS experience, a premium design with IP69K protection, a fast ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and, most importantly, one of the best battery lives in this segment.

EN→DEThe OnePlus 15R is a focused upgrade that doubles down on performance and battery life – and largely succeeds. With near-flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 power, a slick 165Hz AMOLED display, robust IP68/IP69K protection and genuinely outstanding two-day battery life from its 7400mAh cell, it’s built for people who value speed and stamina above all else. In everyday use, it feels fast, fluid and dependable in a way that belies its upper-mid-range price. The trade-offs are clear: the camera system is a step back from its predecessor, the 8MP ultrawide underwhelms, and extras like LTPO tech and wireless charging are missing. But these, for the most part, feel like deliberate compromises rather than oversights. If you want a versatile camera phone without the flagship cost, look towards the likes of the Pixel 10. If you want a powerful, long-lasting Android that prioritises the fundamentals at a cheaper price point than rivals, the OnePlus 15R is an easy recommendation.

EN→DEThe OnePlus 15R focuses on getting the fundamentals right and then stays consistent at that baseline once you start using it daily. There are compromises such as the absence of a telephoto camera that feel harder to justify at this price, especially when last year’s model offered one. Charging speeds are competitive but no longer class-leading. And while the design is polished, it plays it safe in a market where some buyers may want more personality from their devices. But the strengths of the 15R more than make up for those shortcomings. The performance is solid and holds up under sustained use, battery life is dependable with enough headroom, display brightness and colour consistency have improved and the main camera is reliable without overprocessing.

EN→DEIn the end, the OnePlus 15R doesn't quite look like a proper flagship killer, but it does pack plenty of top-notch features. The 15R features a likable and durable design that can be universally praised. Then there is the bright HDR display with a smooth refresh rate. Our positive impressions were topped off with absolutely incredible battery life. Of course, we cannot but mention the powerful speakers, fast charging, and the more than adequate raw and sustained performance. Cameras have become a pillar across modern smartphones, and the OnePlus 15R's main camera offers superb photo and video quality across the board, plus incredibly solid video stabilization.

EN→DEComing at a starting price of Rs 59,999, the Motorola Signature can be a suitable purchase for those who seek a discrete rear panel finish in a sleek form factor, a premium-looking quad-curved display, and significantly longer software support. It also sits at an advantageous position by rocking a versatile camera setup that includes a periscope lens, potentially unlocking many photography use cases like portraits, long-range zoom, and macro shots. While the performance through the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 on the Motorola Signature may suffice for daily workloads, the OnePlus 15R with the same chipset is a better gaming and thermally efficient performer. It also triumphs the Signature in terms of battery life, AI features, and better software customisation.

EN→DEThe OnePlus 15R is a strong Android alternative for anyone looking to step outside the mainstream. Its refreshed design is a welcome departure from the previous model's dated appearance, while its vibrant display delivers crisp, detailed visuals. The phone's cameras produce photos and videos that are well worth sharing, and its standout 23-hour battery life sets it apart from most competitors. If you want something different from what you're used to seeing at carrier stores, the OnePlus 15R is an attractive choice. That said, the Pixel 9a still earns our Editors' Choice award and is our top recommendation for most people thanks to its superior cameras, more advanced AI features, and lower price.

EN→DEI used the OnePlus 15R and can state that it is a powerful all-rounder with some compromises. The design is very high quality and the frame is very strong; the back is a matte material and does not get dirty easily, but I miss the traditional alert slider. The screen is vivid, clear and fluent, and it is pleasant to stream, scroll and play games. It performs well, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip has coped with everything that I have thrown at it, both in heavy multitasking mode and games of high graphics without breaking a sweat. The cameras are practical to use on a daily basis, more so during the day time, and the new 32megapixel selfie camera is clear and uniform.

EN→DEOnePlus sticks to its guns with the OnePlus 15R. This is a great option for those looking for mostly flagship specs without breaking the bank too bad. You get an OK camera, fantastic battery life, and top-tier performance in a package that looks and feels like a premium phone. The only problem is that the at $700, it seems to have out priced the perfect $600 mark of the OnePlus 13R that set it competitive with offerings from Moto, Pixel, and Samsung.

EN→DEBoth the OnePlus 15 and the OnePlus 15R are available on OnePlus’s website, at Amazon, and at Best Buy. The OnePlus 15 starts at $899.99, and the 15R starts at $699.99. If you buy from OnePlus’s website with a trade-in, you can get $100 off and a free gift worth up to $179. If you buy the OnePlus 15R, you get $50 and a free set of OnePlus Buds 4. So that puts the totals at $799 and $649, respectively. For that money, I would definitely spring for the OnePlus 15. It has wireless charging, a better screen, better battery life, and better cameras. All of that is definitely worth the extra $150. You might want to consider the OnePlus 13 as an alternative, which debuted about a year ago. That phone has many of the same features, but Hasselblad tuning, which was lost in the OnePlus 15. EN→DEOnePlus has always gotten a mixed reaction over their choices and devices, and the OnePlus 15R is no exception. Personally, I think this year’s batch of OnePlus devices has been one of the best. My interest in OnePlus has been reignited, and I think others are interested again as well. Here are my key takeaways of the OnePlus 15R, both positive and negative. The OnePlus 15R is a fabulous smartphone designed for users who want decent performance and a simply remarkable battery. Its biggest selling point is that exact massive 7,400 mAh battery and the 165 Hz display. If you often find yourself looking for a charger or if you enjoy consuming content, this phone is built exactly for those needs, offering top-tier performance without the $1,000+ price tag of other high-end models.

EN→DEFor what it's worth, the OnePlus 15R is a good-value alternative to the OnePlus 15 that carries some of the same DNA, but cuts some corners. The difference between the two is pretty clear-cut. If you want the better overall device that won't take any shortcuts through the flagship way, pick the OnePlus 15. If you're on a tighter budget and don't really care about having a capable zoom camera or the best performance in early 2026, go with the OnePlus 15R.

EN→DEIf you care not for cameras and want to save some cash by not buying a OnePlus 15, then the 15R is a stellar handset with a very agreeable asking price. I've moved from the brand's top-tier model to this supposedly step-down version, but I've barely felt any difference in use. It looks and acts every bit the flagship in almost all areas. Overall, it's the elegant design, the long battery life, and the fluid performance which present its key trio of triumphs, marking the OnePlus 15R as a superb handset. EN→DEThe OnePlus 15R is one okay phone. Sure, it does cut some corners in comparison with its predecessor while also increasing the price tag, but viewed in.a vacuum, it's one that you should consider if your budget is around $800. It has some pretty decent performance and excellent battery life, as well as one lovely screen. Unfortunately, the lack of a dedicated telephoto irked me a bit more than I anticipated, and I quickly realized that I don't really want to use a phone without zooming capabilities in 2026. The design is also painfully safe and lacks that signature OnePlus DNA here. It's a device offering great value at its starting price of $700 for the 256GB version.

EN→DEThe OnePlus 15R delivers on the promise it makes: flagship-level performance without the flagship price. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 handles everything you throw at it without hesitation, the 7400mAh battery gets you through two days easily, and the 165Hz display works exactly when it needs to (in games that actually support it). Four IP ratings mean you can use the phone without constantly worrying about water or dust. The design is clean and understated, which works in its favour rather than trying too hard to stand out. So if you’re someone for whom performance and battery life is above everything else, the 15R makes a convincing case for itself at Rs 49,999. The compromises are there, though. The camera is the most obvious one: a missing telephoto, an aging ultrawide, and a main sensor that struggles once lighting gets tricky.

EN→DESo the real question is: who is this phone actually for? And I think the OnePlus 15R is for someone who wants an exceptional overall smartphone experience: great performance, excellent software, a very good display, solid IP rating, fast ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and insane battery life. But it’s not for someone who clicks a lot of photos or videos. If you only take casual photos once in a while and camera performance is not your top priority, then the OnePlus 15R is actually a fantastic phone. EN→DEWhile there are clear chinks in the OnePlus 15R’s armour, collectively they’re small. So long as its lack of a telephoto camera, LTPS display tech, USB 2.0 speeds and middling haptics aren’t dealbreakers, the OnePlus 15R is otherwise a complete high-end package that gets you most of the way to the full-fat OnePlus 15 experience. Even if I don’t agree with them all, I think OnePlus made the right compromises, as what’s left still wholly impresses, particularly the combination of sustained performance and the 165Hz display party trick for gamers. The phone’s outstanding battery longevity and clean user experience are to be commended too. For your money, you could opt for the Galaxy S25 FE (which I’ve already compared to the 15R), or the Google Pixel 10 (which is starting to see price reductions), both of which pack superior photography skills but otherwise weaker hardware. There’s also the more affordable (but marginally more compromised) Poco F8 Pro, which I also recently reviewed.

EN→DEThe OnePlus 15R represents a compelling value proposition in the increasingly competitive mid-range flagship space. While OnePlus made some unfortunate cuts—most notably the removal of the telephoto lens and the slower charging speeds in the US—the phone excels where it matters most for its target audience. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 proves to be a smart choice, delivering excellent thermal management and efficiency without sacrificing meaningful real-world performance. Paired with that massive 7,400mAh battery, you’re looking at a phone that can genuinely last well beyond a full day of heavy use, which is something few competitors at any price can claim. EN→DEGiven how much I loved the OnePlus 15 – it’s still the high-end Android handset I’d suggest for most phone shoppers right now – I wasn’t surprised that I also gelled with the 15R. You’re getting a very similar experience, with OnePlus hardly diluting the formula down at all to reach a more appealing price. Rivals struggle to match it in most areas. You’re getting a bigger screen and higher water resistance ratings than either the Galaxy S25 or Pixel 10, the customisable Plus Key is a convenience you won’t find on a Poco, and the subtle styling is far easier on the eye than Nothing’s divisive Phone 3. True, I’d look elsewhere if photography was a priority – the basic ultrawide and lack of telephoto are real downers – but for gaming on the go and an impressively long lifespan per charge, the 15R is a safe bet.

EN→DEThe OnePlus 15R's features make it an excellent starter gaming phone. I often thought about the RedMagic 11 Pro while reviewing the 15R. RedMagic's $749 gaming phone has impressive specs that easily run any game you throw at it, and its 7,500-mAh silicon-carbon battery. But RedMagic seems to hit its reasonable price through a frustrating software experience that even includes advertisements when you open its web browser. The battery menu on the OnePlus 15R gives several options for using more power or extending battery life, but all are quite long. OnePlus chose not to skimp on the 15R's display or the battery, and would rather make its cuts by going with a slightly less powerful processor, skipping wireless charging and omitting the telephoto camera.

EN→DEThere are better options outside of OnePlus’s portfolio, too. The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE ($534.99 at Samsung) wasn’t our favorite phone of 2025, but it’s a much better product for the mid-tier flagship space that the OnePlus 15R is trying to compete in. Samsung’s phone has much more cohesive software, seven years of Android updates, and good battery life/charging. The $650 price tag is already lower than the 15R, and it’s not uncommon to find it on sale for dramatically less. It feels weird to be so down on the OnePlus 15R when its much more successful predecessor launched in the US less than 12 months ago and in the same calendar year, but that’s where we’re at. I love seeing OnePlus push the battery envelope as it has with the 15R, but that alone isn’t enough to justify the rest of the phone’s shortcomings — especially when it’s as expensive as it is.

Performance is excellent, there’s gaming power to spare and the battery life is looking to be some of the best I’ve ever recorded. Which makes the lack of a telephoto camera all the more frustrating. If OnePlus could have nailed the camera offering, too, this could have been the best mid-range phone around. The refocus of the OnePlus 15R from a generalist flagship to a gaming-focused one has made the phone a more niche device as a result. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, though, and with its big chip upgrade and more responsive display, the OnePlus 15R certainly fits in with the gaming phone crowd while also standing out from phones in the same general price bracket. While other brands may tout their phones' performance, I can't imagine Apple, Google or Samsung launching a gaming-specific handset in the current tech climate. I know I'd never buy a OnePlus 15R for myself. I'd either save up for the OnePlus 15 or turn to a cheaper Pixel 9a.

EN→DEIn short, the OnePlus 15R is the phone for people who don't care about photos and videos. That's the same conclusion I came to with the OP15. If you're a OnePlus fan, the 15R excels in all the areas you would expect the company's devices to make a good showing: performance, battery life and display responsiveness. Given I wasn't too impressed with the OP15's camera, I would actually recommend the 15R over that model. For $200 off the starting price of the OP15, you're getting a device that has almost all of the same strengths of its more expensive sibling. Compared to other phones in its price range, such as the Pixel 10 and Galaxy S25 FE, the 15R is not as well-rounded, and can't compete with those devices in camera quality, but you're getting much better performance, battery life and a display they can't match.

EN→DEI don't get what OnePlus wants to achieve with the 15R; earlier devices in the R series delivered a good value and exceled as all-rounders, but you just don't get that here. Yes, you get a massive battery and great performance, but that's the case with every phone. OnePlus deciding to not include a dedicated telephoto camera on the 15R basically kills the device, even if it has a decent 50MP main lens. To make things worse, the OnePlus 15R costs $699, a $100 increase over the 13R.

EN→DEThe OnePlus 15R is an excellent phone in some respects and merely adequate in others. The battery life is exceptional — truly best-in-class. Software is clean and functional, performance handles everything current apps and games demand, and the display is bright and smooth. But the camera system is only fine, not great, and the lack of wireless charging is frustrating at this price. If those things don't matter all that much to you and you have $700 to spend on a phone, then the OnePlus 15R is definitely worth considering.

EN→DEAt ₹44,999, the OnePlus 15R delivers flagship-level performance, a smooth display, and excellent battery life, making it a great choice for gamers and OnePlus fans who value clean software. However, its camera performance is decent but lacks the quality of rivals like the OPPO Find X9 or Vivo X300. Overall, the OnePlus 15R is a strong budget flagship for performance enthusiasts, proving that OnePlus can offer excitement without the high price tag.

EN→DEThe OnePlus 15R attempts to strike a compelling balance between near-flagship-grade performance without stretching into the territory of pricing, and it manages to do so to a certain extent. Even though it doesn't carry all the bells and whistles of its premium sibling, the handset's biggest strengths lie in performance, excellent battery life, and reliable software support, all of which make it a dependable daily driver for power users. On the flip side, camera compromises are evident, especially with the omission of a telephoto sensor, and the haptics feel like a step back compared to previous OnePlus models.

EN→DEThe OnePlus 15R is a pretty good premium smartphone for the most part. It is well-built with all the IP ratings you can think of, the display is of good quality, the performance from the new chip is excellent, the speakers sound great, and the battery life is tremendous. Where the phone disappoints is in the camera. OnePlus dropped the telephoto camera after just one year. Meanwhile, the 8MP ultra-wide that should have been upgraded three years ago is still kicking around. And the selfie camera is losing to the one on the cheaper Nord 5. The main camera is good, but not good enough to make up for everything else happening here. The reason for this seems simple. With the OnePlus 13 generation, the 13R was different from the 13 in enough ways that even with a telephoto, the latter came across as a notably superior device.

EN→DEI have mixed feelings about the OnePlus 15R, just like I did with the OnePlus 15. At $699 (and despite costing $100 more than the previous gen) it still offers great value, but OnePlus’ stubborn focus on performance results in some vexing compromises. While the OnePlus 15R boasts quality hardware, a lovely 165Hz display, solid performance, outstanding battery life, fast charging speeds, robust water/dust resistance, and excellent software, the downsides are difficult to ignore. First, the lack of telephoto shooter and the middling ultrawide significantly hamper camera versatility and imaging performance. Second, the iPhone-influenced design, LTPS screen, missing alert slider, and lack of wireless charging (which is available on cheaper handsets like Google's $499 Pixel 9a) all feel like steps in the wrong direction for a budget flagship.

EN→DEThe OnePlus 15R proves that a phone doesn’t need to be the absolute flagship to feel flagship-grade in everyday use. It brings together cutting-edge performance, outstanding battery life, a stunning high-refresh-rate display, and OnePlus’ smartest software yet, making it the most complete and powerful R-series smartphone OnePlus has ever launched. From the moment you use it, the OnePlus 15R feels premium. The 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with up to 165 Hz refresh rate is smooth, bright, and immersive, while the metal frame and IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K durability ratings give the phone a level of toughness. Despite housing a massive 7,400 mAh Silicon Nanostack battery, the device remains well-balanced and comfortable in hand. Performance is where the OnePlus 15R truly shines.

Reviewing the OnePlus 15R, a mid-range smartphone alternative to the 15 flagship, costing from £649 in the UK. I've had my SIM inside of the OnePlus 15R all week, testing the camera performance, gaming abilities, battery life and beyond. So is it one of the best mid-phones for 2026? You've got the same main camera here as the OP15, from the sensor tech to the in-house image processing smarts. It's still limited in softer light, but at the OnePlus 15R price point, that's easier to take. It's a shame there's no telephoto zoom, of course, which some rivals do offer.Gamers are once again a big focus for this smartphone.

EN→DEOnePlus is gearing up for the global debut of the OnePlus 15R on 17th December, and ahead of the launch, we got our hands on the device for an exclusive unboxing. The OnePlus 15R follows the popular R-series tradition of offering flagship-level experience, but this year, OnePlus is packing in even more: a massive 7,400 mAh battery, new AI features, upgraded build quality, and the world’s first implementation of a co-defined Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.

The OnePlus Ace 6T is finally here, and it’s officially the first phone to debut the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. But the specs sheet on this thing is honestly wild—we’re looking at a 165Hz flat screen, a massive 8300mAh battery, and 100W charging. It’s shaping up to be the ultimate performance flagship for gamers and power users. I’ve been testing the "Flash Speed Black" version, and the design is surprisingly sleek. The silk glass back feels great in the hand, and the transition to the frame is super smooth. It’s a bit understated, but that all-black aesthetic really works. Plus, sticking with a flat display is a huge win for anyone who hates accidental touches while gaming.
