Für die gelungene Verarbeitung kann sich das Acer Lob ergattern. Die einzigen Nachteile sind die nachgebende Tastatur und das biegsame Display. An der Statik des Chassis gibt es aber nichts auszusetzen. Punkte konnte das Aspire 1410 im Bereich der Ergonomie sammeln. Der Energieverbrauch ist niedrig und auch die geringe Wärmeentwicklung kann sich sehen lassen. I-Tüpfelchen wäre ein etwas leiserer Lüfter im Idle-Modus.

Since it's not officially launched yet, these are indicative prices - MRP Rs. 35,000 and MOP Rs. 32,000. It is a bit expensive, but benefit of doubt may be given if the fact that the processor is stronger than Intel Atom processors. It performs CPU heavy processes quite well. The screen is also something I really liked, it was really bright and crisp. Battery performance could be better though it’s not bad. Last but not least its aesthetic appeal is very slick and very sexy.

The Acer Aspire One strikes an excellent balance between power, performance, price and battery life. The updated model offers marginally better performance and a much improved operating system at a lower price, which makes this $400 laptop look pretty attractive. But it’s not perfect. It’s bigger and bulkier than a 10 inch netbook, and there are plenty of other machines that offer better performance or battery life. But I haven’t seen another machine that offers as much as the Aspire 1410 at this price point.

However, in choosing between this system and an Ion-powered netbook like the HP Mini 311, you’ll have to decide what’s more important: graphics power, or CPU and battery performance. Acer really hit the nail on the head with this Aspire 1410.  However, as with anything it is not perfect and will not fit everyone’s needs.  The Touchpad is poorly designed as it is hard to tell the edges.  Acer support does not have the best reputation, if something goes wrong it could be a real hassle dealing with support.  And of course, while the Acer 1410 performs better than any netbook it’s still vastly under powered relative to more full sized laptops with 15-inch plus sized screens such as the HP Pavilion dv6t or Dell Inspiron 15.

The Acer 1810T managed to impress me. It's well built, very portable and powerful enough for most parts of normal use. It's performance and screen are a huge improvement over netbooks. Battery life performance is among the best in class.

The SU3500 CPU has some limitations, mainly HD flash playback. I'm looking forward to test the 1810TZ with SU4100 Dual Core, to see if it does better. 1080p video playback on the 1410 (1810T) looks nothing short of amazing due to the good performance, glossy screen and impressive sound of the small speakers. This notebook will be a great choice for movie lovers.

Das Aspire 1410-741G16N (LX.SAB02.012) liegt zwischen den günstigeren Netbooks und den stärkeren und ausdauernderen CULV-Notebooks mit Pentium- oder Core-2-Prozessoren. Damit ist es ein Subnotebook zum Netbook-Preis, taugt aber auch nur für die typischen Netbook-Aufgaben. Das Gerät mit Windows 7 auszustatten, ist zwar eine gute Idee, jedoch hätte Acer dann für ein flüssigeres Arbeiten zwei Gigabyte Arbeitsspeicher einbauen müssen.

Acer: 1976 gegründet, ist Acer einer der internationalen Hersteller mit den meisten Marktanteilen weltweit und den meisten getesteten Notebook-Modellen im deutsch- und englischsprachigen Raum. Nach eigenen Angaben ist das Unternehmen "drittgrößter Anbieter auf dem PC-Weltmarkt und auf Position zwei im Notebook-Segment mit dem schnellsten Wachstum unter den Top fünf der Weltrangliste". Der Konzern ist zusammengeschlossen mit Gateway Inc. und Packard Bell. Acer beschäftigt weltweit 5.000 Mitarbeiter. Im Jahr 2007 realisierter Umsatz: 14,07 Mrd. US$. Acer ist nach Angaben des Marktforschers IDC (Q2 2008) mit 9,9 % Marktanteil der weltweit drittgrößte Hersteller von Personal Computern (HP 18,9 %, Dell 16,4 %, Lenovo 7,5 %, Apple 5,7%).

Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: Im GM45, GS45 und GE45 Chipsatz (Montevina Plattform) integrierte shared Memory Grafikkarte von Intel. Durch höhere Taktung und mehr Shader ist sie deutlich schneller als die X3100, jedoch immer noch nicht für Spieler empfehlenswert. Kann HD-Videos (AVC/VC2/MPEG2) dekodieren und so die CPU entlasten.

Intel Core 2 Solo: Nachfolger des Core Solo und technisch ein Core 2 Duo mit nur einem Kern. Soll ab dem 3. Quartal 2007 für Notebooks erscheinen und ausschließlich als Ultra Low Voltage (ULV), also mit sehr geringer Kernspannung (=sparsam) erhältlich sein.

SU3500: Sparsamer Einzelkernprozessor mit allen Features und Stromsparfunktionen des Penryn Kerns. Aufgrund der geringen Taktung realtiv langsam aber sehr stromsparend. 

Intel Celeron M: Eigentlich ein Pentium M mit halbiertem Level 2 Cache und auf FSB 400 MHz beschränkt. Kaum langsamere Geschwindigkeit als ein gleichgetakteter Pentium M zeichnet diesen Prozessor aus. Jedoch kann er nicht dynamisch die Geschwindigkeit ändern wie der Pentium M und braucht deshalb ohne Last mehr Strom.
Er ist auch als Low Voltage Version erhältlich mit sehr geringem Stromverbrauch.

Die 4xx Serie basiert auf den Core Solo und hat einen Front Side Bus (FSB) von 533 MHz, jedoch im Vergleich nur 1 statt 2 MB L2 Cache. Er dürfte jedoch bei Büroanwendungen leistungsmäßig gut mithalten (wie schon die 3xx Serie).

Die 5xx Serie basiert auf den Core 2 Solo (Merorm Architektur) und dürfte geringfügig schneller als ein gleichgetakteter 4xx Celeron M sein. Der Celeron unterstützt jedoch keine Virtualisierungstechnik und erhält kein ViiV und vPRO Zertifikat (im Gegensatz zum Core 2 Solo).

743: Langsamer und sparsamer ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) Prozessor für kleine und leichte Notebooks. Kein Speedstep, 64 Bit und Virtualisierungssupport.

Intel Core 2 Duo: Core Duo Nachfolger mit längerer Pipeline und 5-20% Geschwindigkeitszuwachs bei 0.5 - 3 Watt mehr Stromverbrauch.

Der Notebook Core 2 Duo ist baugleich mit den Desktop Core 2 Duo Prozessoren, jedoch werden die Notebook-Prozessoren mit niedrigeren Spannungen und geringerem Frontsidebus Takt betrieben. Von der Leistung bleiben gleichgetaktete Notebooks deswegen (und auch wegen der langsameren Festplatten) 20-25% hinter Desktop PCs.

SU7300: Langsam getakteter Core 2 Duo Prozessor mit 3 MB Level 2 Cache und geringem TDP von 10 Watt.

Dieses Subnotebook/Netbook gehört zu den leichtesten Notebooks überhaupt und kann hervorragend getragen werden. Es gibt nur wenige Sub-Notebooks/Netbooks, die noch leichter sind. 10 Zoll Displays passen in diesen Gewichtsbereich.

1.6 kg:

Diese Subnotebook/Netbook ist deutlich leichter als der Durchschnitt aller Notebooks, und stellen eine mittlere Gewichtsklasse unter den Subnotebooks dar. 11 Zoll Displays passen in diesen Gewichtsbereich.

78.4%: Weltbewegend ist diese Bewertung nicht. Obwohl es bei den meisten Websites einem "Befriedigend" entspricht, muss man bedenken, dass es kaum Notebooks gibt, die unter 60% erhalten. Verbalbewertungen in diesem Bereich klingen oft nicht schlecht, sind aber oft verklausulierte Euphemismen. Dieses Notebook wird von den Testern eigentlich als unterdurchschnittlich angesehen, eine Kaufempfehlung kann man nur mit viel Wohlwollen darin sehen.
