Fazit: Equipped with a stylish 17-inch screen, this is the ultimate multimedia notebook. or people who like designer notebooks, HP has produced another sure winner in the Pavilion dv9500t. This desktop replacement offers the same stylish swirl case pattern, dropped hinges, and piano-black lid as its predecessor, the dv9000t, but with several important improvements, including Intel's latest Santa Rosa mobile processor. With a 2.2-GHz Core 2 Duo T7500 and 2GB of 667-MHz DDR2 SDRAM, the Pavilion dv9500t earned a very good WorldBench 6 Beta 2 score of 73--the same score earned by Fujitsu's LifeBook E8410 with only 1GB of RAM. The Pavilion's average frame rate of 62 frames per second in our graphics tests was average for a desktop replacement but below the marks posted by some gaming notebooks. It should handle productivity tasks, disc burning, and DVD playing with aplomb. And battery life is not bad for the notebook's size, at 3.3 hours.

The system sports a beautiful (if somewhat low-resolution) 17-inch widescreen and offers plenty of space for your music, photos, and video. The included HD-DVD drive and HDMI port allow users to watch high-def movies on the display itself or on a big-screen TV. Priced at $2,074, the dv9500t is a smart choice for home users looking for a powerful but reasonably priced desktop replacement that will turn heads (view photo gallery). An update to the dv9000 series, the dv9500t sets itself apart with the refreshed Centrino Duo mobile platform (codenamed Santa Rosa) and other welcome upgrades, such as the addition of a fingerprint reader and a VGA webcam.

Die Leistung dürfte leicht oberhalb der 7600 / 7700 liegen und dadurch aktuelle Spiele flüssig darstellen können. Die 8600M gehört weltweit zu den ersten Notebook-GPUs, die DirextX 10 unterstützen und die H.264-Dekodierung von HD-Filmen beschleunigen.

Intel Core 2 Duo: Der Core 2 Duo ist ein Nachfolger von Core Duo und Core Solo mit längerer Pipeline und bis zu 20% Geschwindigkeitszuwachs ohne mehr Strom zu verbrauchen. 64-Bit EM64T Befehlserweiterung und 2 oder 4MB L2 Cache zeichnen den Prozessor mit seinen 291 Millionen Transistoren, die in 65 nm gefertig werden, aus.
