Design und Verarbeitung des Dell XPS 15 9570-CPC1J entsprechen der bekannten XPS-Qualität, die etwas für den modernen Laptopnutzer verfeinert wurde. Mit der Überarbeitung der XPS-15-Produktlinie bietet Dell nicht klobige oder zu schwere 15,6-Zoll-Laptops mit leistungsstarker Hardware. Der Laptop ist leistungsstärker als je zuvor und hält überraschenderweise mit einer Ladung länger durch. An der Identität des XPS-15-Designs hat sich nicht viel geändert. Das Gerät nutzt weiterhin ein Aluminium-Unibody-Gehäuse mit einem Tastaturteil aus Kohlefaser sowie ein einziges robustes Scharnier. Für einen 15,6-Zöller ist der Laptop leicht und kompakt. Er ist dank der Wedge-Form zwischen 11 und 17 mm (0,45 bis 0,66 Zoll) hoch. Die Modelle wiegen ab 1,8 kg (4 Pfund), das gilt jedoch für die Variante mit Non-Touch-Display und kleinerem 56-Wh-Akku. Das Modell mit größerem Akku und 4k-Display bringt 2,0 kg (4,5 Pfund) auf die Waage. Dell nutzt die größeren Abmessungen bei seinem Premium-Laptop-Design, um es mit vielfältiger Schnittstellenausstattung von der Konkurrenz, die oft dem Trend zu USB-C-Dongles folgt, abzuheben. Beispielsweise bietet das Dell XPS 15 einen SD-Kartenslot in voller Größe, HDMI und USB 3.1, während es das MacBook Pro bei vier Thunderbolt-3-Ports belässt. Alle, für die der Bildschirm das wichtigste Kriterium beim Erstellen einer Laptop-Checkliste ist, werden schwerlich vom XPS 15 enttäuscht sein. Es nutzt einen 15,6 Zoll großen Bildschirm mit 1080p-Auflösung, einem Kontrastverhältnis von 1500:1, 100 Prozent Adobe RGB Farbgenauigkeit und einer Anti-Reflex-Beschichtung um Spiegelungen hintanzuhalten. Natürlich geht dies zu Lasten der Akkulaufzeit, doch der Bildschirm sieht toll aus. User können sich zuverlässige und starke Leistung bei allgemeinen sowie intensiven Aufgaben, von Gaming bis zu Video-Rendering und allem dazwischen, erwarten. Das XPS 15 wird durch einen Intel Core i7-8750H Prozessor, eine Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Grafikkarte mit 4096 MB GDDR5 VRAM, 16 GB RAM und 512 GB SSD Speicher angetrieben. Das Kraftpaket ist für Medienbearbeitung gemacht. Sie sollten sich aber nicht erwarten, die neuesten und besten PC-Games am Dell XPS 15 zu spielen, vor allem nicht in 4K. Flüssiges Gaming ist bestenfalls bei 1080p-Auflösung und mittleren Einstellungen möglich. Dell konnte die Akkulaufzeit des XPS 15 von Jahr zu Jahr verbessern. Allerdings wird der Laptop mit 4 Stunden und 11 Minuten allgemeiner Verwendung keinen ganzen Tag durchhalten. Sollte der User also einen ganzen Tag unterwegs sein wollen, steckt er besser einen Stromadapter ein. Obwohl Dells XPS 15 langsam in die Jahre kommt, ist es von seinem fantastischen 4K-Touchscreen bis zu seiner leistungsstarken Sechs-Kern-CPU immer noch das eleganteste Desktop-Replacement am Markt. Dell: Dell ist ein 1984 gegründeter US-amerikanischer Hersteller (Sitz Texas) von Computer-Hardware und gehört zu den grössten internationalen Herstellern sowohl in Bezug auf Marktanteile als auch hinsichtlich Notebook-Modellen. Die Produktpalette umfasst unter anderem Desktops, Notebooks, Speichersysteme, Monitore, Server, Drucker, Unterhaltungselektronik und Peripheriegeräte. Dell bietet Laptops an, die ich für verschiedene Einsatzbereiche eignen, z. B. Business-Laptops, Gaming-Laptops, Ultra-Portables und Workstations. Die Business-Notebooks von Dell aus den Latitude- und Precision-Serien sind eine Option für professionelle Anwender und Unternehmen.
2023 hatte Dell einen ungefähren Marktanteil von 17% am weltweiten PC-Absatz und war damit die Nummer 3 nach Lenovo und HP.
Für Gaming-Enthusiasten ist die Marke Alienware von Dell für Gaming-Notebooks vorgesehen.
Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q: Effiziente Variante der GeForce GTX 1050 Ti gedacht für dünne und leichte Gaming Laptops. Etwa 10-15 % langsamer als eine normale GTX 1050 Ti bei deutlich reduziertem Stromverbrauch (40-46 versus 64 Watt).

i9-8950HK: Auf der Coffee-Lake-Architektur basierender SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für große Notebooks. Integriert unter anderem sechs CPU-Kerne mit 2,9 - 4,8 GHz (4,3 GHz bei 6 Kernen) und HyperThreading sowie eine Grafikeinheit und wird in 14-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt. Dank freiem Multiplikator ist ein Übertakten der CPU möglich.
i5-8300H: Auf der Coffee-Lake-Architektur basierender SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für große Notebooks. Integriert unter anderem vier CPU-Kerne mit 2,3 - 4 GHz (3,9 GHz bei allen 4 Kernen) und HyperThreading sowie eine Grafikeinheit und wird in 14-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt.
