Testberichte für das Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold

70% I tested the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and it's more of an iterative update than I initially realized
Quelle: Android Central Englisch EN→DE
For as much as I would love to tell you that this is the foldable phone for everyone, I just can't. What I can say is that if you want a foldable equipped with an IP68 rating, already understand the limitations of Google's software, and know that you aren't getting the best cameras, then yeah, this is the one for you. I'd even argue that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is the best foldable for those who haven't used a foldable phone before and don't want a flip phone. It's a great way to get your foot in the door and become familiar with how the software works before moving on to something more robust or feature-rich in the future. My problems stem from wanting Google to become the leader in the space, and even with the IP68 rating, the rest of the package is pretty run-of-the-mill.

80% Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold review: a durable, smart foldable that’s not without compromises
Quelle: 91mobiles Englisch EN→DE
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is a solid but imperfect foldable. It combines durable construction, reliable battery life, bright displays, and clean Pixel software, making it a compelling choice for those who want a foldable Pixel that offers both longevity and user-friendly software. Underwhelming cameras relative to other Pixel 10 Pro phones. Mid-tier performance for gaming and multitasking. If you want a foldable phone that can survive real-world wear and tear, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is arguably the safest bet. Its IP68 rating, gearless hinge, and magnetic charging ecosystem set it apart. Battery life and inner display productivity are strong points that make daily use enjoyable.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold review: A familiar package with AI, software leap
Quelle: Business Standard Englisch EN→DE
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold may not be a radical overhaul, but it’s undoubtedly a meaningful refinement. The design still has some heft, yet subtle improvements to ergonomics, hinge smoothness, and the addition of IP68 dust and water resistance make a noticeable difference in everyday use. The square-shaped inner display remains one of the most practical and enjoyable aspects of the device, offering an excellent multitasking experience. The camera system, while unchanged in hardware, continues to deliver consistently great results across lighting conditions. On the software front, it’s the familiar, fluid Pixel experience, though this time around, Google’s new AI additions feel less transformative than expected.Performance isn’t chart-topping compared to the competition, but the Tensor G5 chip handles everyday tasks and multitasking without strain, aided by improved thermals.

Quelle: Android Authority Englisch EN→DE
That all leads us to the $1,799 question: Should you buy the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold? I think I answered that perfectly at the top of this review. If you know your next phone has to be a foldable and has to be a Pixel, then yes, you should buy the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. You can try to save some money by picking up the Pixel 9 Pro Fold ($1799 at Amazon) on sale, but I’d argue that the IP68 rating, more durable hinge, built-in magnets, and newer Tensor G5 chip make the Pixel 10 Pro Fold a worthwhile purchase over its predecessor. However, if you aren’t married to the idea of a foldable Pixel and have some wiggle room either way, your money is better spent elsewhere.Let’s say you know you want a folding phone, but you don’t necessarily have to have a Pixel phone.

80% Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Review: Hinging on Innovation
Quelle: NDTV Gadgets Englisch EN→DE
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is the foldable we should have got last year, as it would have given plenty of reasons for buyers to pick Google's foldable over Samsung's chubby design. But a lot changed with Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 this year, and given the Pixel's average cameras, it is a bit hard to recommend it unless you are willing to settle in a few areas. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 (from Rs. 1,74,999) lacks the IP68 rating of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. But it is a whole lot lighter and feels fantastic to hold with its super slim design. Samsung's 200-megapixel camera also offers better overall quality compared to the Pixel's dated hardware, which is in desperate need of an upgrade. The powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor is another win for Samsung, but the smaller battery, because of its slim design, may see a few pick the Pixel over a Samsung this year.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Display test
Quelle: DxOMark Englisch EN→DE
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold delivered an excellent performance in our Display tests, setting a new benchmark for foldable devices. With a peak brightness of 2859 cd/m², it currently holds the record for the highest brightness measured on a foldable screen. The display adapts seamlessly to varying lighting conditions, ensuring smooth transitions from dim indoor environments to bright outdoor scenes. Colors on the main display are pleasant and accurate in Natural Mode, though slight undersaturation may be observed in very bright conditions due to reflections on the panel surface. Despite this, color rendering remains consistent across different viewing angles, with low color shift and good uniformity in both brightness and chromatic accuracy.

60% Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold review: Down with the thickness
Quelle: Expert Reviews Englisch EN→DE
For what it’s trying to achieve, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is a revolution. No other foldable has managed to crack the IP68 certification to date, and the addition of PixelSnap further sets it apart from the competition. The problem is, I think, that most potential foldable customers are more likely to be swayed by the sleek physiques of either the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 or Honor Magic V5. This is a more tangible, daily concern than either dust resistance or magnetic charging and both key rivals are far ahead of Google on this front. So, while the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is broadly competent and noteworthy for its technical advancements, I can’t recommend it over either of the other options. Even if you desperately want IP68 or PixelSnap, I’d say you’re better off waiting a year and seeing if the Pixel 11 Pro Fold can shed some of this extra weight.

72% Pixel 10 Pro Fold Review: Google’s Foldable Finally Grows Up
Quelle: Think Digit Englisch EN→DE
For the past two years, Google’s foldable story has felt like an experiment in progress. It’s fascinating, ambitious, but never fully realised. The first Fold was met with mixed reviews for its narrow cover display and awkward ergonomics. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold from last year was a refinement but still didn’t feel entirely cohesive. This year, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold doesn’t feel like a reinvention but rather a realignment of Google’s foldable strategy. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold looks very familiar to the 9 Pro Fold, but it’s finally complete. It’s thinner, more durable, with a gearless hinge and backed by a vastly more capable Tensor G5 chip that brings meaningful gains across performance, battery, and intelligence. But do these upgrades translate into the broader Pixel identity and make this AI-driven foldable with its understated elegance a great choice, or is Google doing patchwork? That’s what we’re here to find out.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold isn’t for everyone, and its $1,800 price ensures that. However, if you’re someone who just loves using folding phones, it has a lot to offer. I love the IP68 rating and extended battery life. I feel it’s what’s been missing from these devices. Durability matters, and I want to use my foldable like I do a traditional smartphone, especially since I’m paying such a high premium. It’s not perfect, and it’s not the sexiest folding phone on the market, but it’ll stay in my pocket. The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold isn't the flashiest foldable you can buy, but its large battery and excellent durability set it apart. If you're looking for a foldable device that you can use all day, with plenty of power and fantastic software support, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is worth considering.

There are so many things to love about the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, from its beautiful screens and hulk-like build to its faster performance, long battery life, and useful built-in AI features that are thoughtfully integrated into the user interface. But there are also a few big misses. I would like to see a more focused approach to multitasking on foldable phones, something that still feels underdeveloped. I also wish the Pixel 10 Pro Fold supported a stylus. You might be thinking I have a long list of demands for the next version of the Pixel Fold, and you’re right. The addition of proper dust and water resistance on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold has removed one of the last two shortcomings of modern foldables, which is no mean feat. However, at $1,799, the price barrier is still hard to overcome for most folks. On top of that, when compared to its biggest rival, it'd be a mistake for anyone interested in big and expensive flexible phones to ignore the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Its super sleek design simply cannot be denied. Plus, higher performance, more freedom to open additional windowed apps and the option for a permanently pinned taskbar make Samsung's rival the preferred pick for gamers and power users. When it comes to the category as a whole, the P10PF offers the best photo toolkit around.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold hands-on: More durable
Quelle: Canbuyornot Englisch EN→DE
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold looks and feels very much like last year's version. Which is not a bad thing since the older model, which revamped the design, did get a lot of things right. So I can allow Google some slack for building on that design with some incremental upgrades for its latest foldable. But Google isn't the only player in this space. And boy, have foldable phones slimmed down considerably this year. In fact, they have never been thinner. We have arguably reached a point where the hardware and engineering issues for these devices have been mostly ironed out. So it's rather jarring that Google seems to have gone their own way with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which is actually a hair thicker and heavier than its predecessor. Now, I don't mind it being a bit thicker, but the weight (258g) can be a drag after a while, especially in my jeans pocket.

80% Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold review: I think Samsung takes this round
Quelle: Mashable Englisch EN→DE
There's nothing really wrong with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold on its merits. Taken on its own, it's basically as good as last year's phone, but with a bigger battery and a stronger chip powering it. And at $1,799, its starting price is $200 cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. For that price, we would expect cameras more on par with the Pixel 10 Pro, which starts at $999. But $200 is frankly not a huge number when you're talking about phones that cost around $2,000. If you're going to spend that much on a flagship foldable, you might as well go for Samsung's phone just because it's so much thinner and more comfortable to use. I hate to hinge so much of my criticism on the physical form factor, but with foldables, that's kind of a big deal. I think Samsung has the foldable to beat so far this year (rumor has it the company still has a tri-fold coming soon). We'll see how it shapes up in 2026.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold review: The ultimate Google phone
Quelle: Ars Technica Englisch EN→DE
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is better than last year's Google foldable, and that means there's a lot to like. The new hinge and slimmer bezels make the third-gen foldable a bit easier to hold, and the displays are fantastic. The camera setup, while a step down from the other Pro Pixels, is still one of the best you can get on a phone. The addition of Qi2 charging is much appreciated, too. And while Google has overloaded the Pixels with AI features, more of them are useful compared to those on the likes of Samsung, Motorola, or OnePlus. That's all great, but these are relatively minor improvements for an $1,800 phone, and the competition is making great strides. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold isn't as fast or slim as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Samsung's multitasking system is much more powerful.

Overall, I like the Pixel 10 Pro Fold more than I thought. And in a perfect world I’d be able to get a foldable phone with all of its unique strengths — including its dust proof design, brighter displays and bigger battery — in something just as thin and light as the Galaxy Z Fold 7. But since we don’t live in that world, you have to make a choice. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is a pretty compelling device for $200 less than the Samsung. But despite Google’s advantages I’d rather carry the Z Fold 7 as my everyday phone because it actually feels like a regular phone and not a foldable.

While I'm impressed with the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold's overall offering, as its nips and tucks bring marginal gains over its predecessor, the key folding phone competitors have really put their foot on the gas during this past year. As a result, a once 5-star potential product can't, in my view, compete with the current best in the business – Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7. Some will disagree, mind, as the Pixel's wider front display will seal the deal for some buyers – as the Samsung's is so much narrower that it's a very different experience. Google's foldable journey has been impressive: the original Fold really didn't hit the mark, while the second-gen model was a total reinvention that blew everyone away. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold hits plenty of high notes, but for its future to be secured it's going to need to slim down further and refine the screen bezel yet more. Then Google will be back to top once more.

The value proposition for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is still the same it’s been for the previous two generations: you get a bigger screen. At least with Samsung’s Z Fold 7, the bigger screen folds up into a footprint that feels like a regular big-ass phone. Unless you’re deeply intrigued by the potential of Gemini and AI, the Z Fold 7 is the better foldable, though you’ll need to fork over an extra $200. On the day this review is publishing, I’ve seen new Z Fold 7 foldables going for the same price $1,800, because of Prime Day. Those deals will only get better into the holidays.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Review: Familiar Feel, Smarter Execution
Quelle: Hot Hardware Englisch EN→DE
Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold ($1,799) is an update to last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It’s a well-rounded folding phone that benefits from Google's more efficient Tensor G5 SoC, brighter displays, a larger battery, and faster charging – not to mention Google’s outstanding software and AI features. More importantly, it’s the first folding phone with a proper IP68 rating and Qi2 magnetic accessory support. Unfortunately, when it comes to design, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold remains largely identical to last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Plus it shares the room with a mighty elephant – Samsung’s ultra thin and light Galaxy Z Fold7 – which looks and feels a lot more exciting. So while the Pixel 10 Pro Fold delivers small but welcome tweaks, it doesn't raise the bar. This makes it significantly less competitive than its predecessor in today’s folding phone landscape.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold has some obvious weaknesses, like every foldable. It isn’t razor-thin or incredibly light, and it doesn’t have the same high-end cameras other “Pro” phones do. Most foldables fall in this category, but I ahven’t come across one that leaves me happy with the software experience. I also haven’t found one that offers the convenience of Qi2 magnets and MagSafe accessories. The drawbacks are outweighed by performance, usability, and design. It goes without saying that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold still looks phenomenal, even if little has changed year-over-year.For those looking to upgrade to a Pixel 10 Pro Fold from the previous model, it comes down to battery life and Qi2. For those that are weighing options between Google’s foldables, and really any foldable, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is a quality device.

Quelle: CNet Englisch EN→DE
The foldable phone space remains a niche one, though competition continues to heat up as phone makers race to release the most innovative, eye-catching designs. Unlike many of its competitors, Google didn't slim down the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, but rather focused on bolstering features that some buyers might prioritize, like battery life and durability. That gives this phone a slightly more practical appeal, even if it doesn't make for the flashiest superlatives. Both the cover and internal screen feel equally practical in their own ways. A slightly wider cover screen with scaled-back bezels helps this phone look as "normal" as possible when I need it to function like a standard slate phone, like when I'm quickly shooting over a text or absentmindedly scrolling through Instagram.

Overall, after I choke down the foldable price that reflects on everyone, not just Google, I have been extremely happy with my time with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. I love the form factor, even if it is a bit heavy; performance outside of gaming has been great, and the displays are beautiful. Had this not come out the same year that the Z Fold7 finally changed its shape and moved up to a 200 MP main sensor in their camera, this would have been the new foldable to beat. However, with approximately $200 in savings, a serviceable camera, numerous AI options, more RAM, and a better battery, it’s a fairly even trade-off. Anyone who chooses the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold as their next foldable will be more than satisfied with its performance—so long as you’re not a hardcore mobile gamer.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold leaves me with mixed feelings. I’ve very much enjoyed using it, and I particularly like how solid and durable it feels. It also has some unique benefits that you won’t find with any other foldable, such as IP68 dust and water resistance and built-in magnets. The main problem is the competition. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 trumps this phone in just about every conceivable way. It’s much slimmer and lighter, the crease is less noticeable, it’s more powerful, and the cameras are a lot more impressive, too. This phone, with its chunky design, thick bezels and outdated cameras, just doesn’t really do enough to compete. If you love Google’s first-party features and UI, and you’re very concerned about dust resistance, maybe this model could sway you. Personally, though, I’d pick the Samsung every time.

In the end, I think whether or not the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is the right foldable for you will very much depend on what you value the most. Because I do believe there’s a space for it. Obviously, if you want bleeding-edge technology, in the thinnest, lightest design, this is not the one for you. But if you want a practical, reliable device that will survive the test of time, there’s an argument to be made that it’s the best of its kind on the market. It’s durable, water- and dust-resistant, features built-in Qi2 support, feels solid, and offers two great displays and a consistent camera experience. In the market of ambitious devices from Samsung and Honor, it’s a bit plain, but it is Mr. Reliable in a lot of ways. And, for me personally, it has the display I find most pleasant to watch out of all these types of devices.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Review: The Features You Can'T See Give It Its Edge

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is available from Google's store, from Google on Amazon, and from select retailers and ships on October 9, 2025. It costs $1,799 barring, of course, any carrier deals or other discounts. On the face of it, it's hard to deny that this phone is worth it. The durability alone should give peace of mind to potential customers. Foldables as a category are still expensive, and at this price level, you shouldn't have to pick your compromises, but alas, you do. Do you want the durability and IP rating of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, or do you want the slim form factor offered by others in the category. In 2025, this phone feels bulky, and a tad dated, but it comes with protection that no other phone in its class offers.

Quelle: Stuff TV Englisch EN→DE
It’s a modest yet meaningful improvement on its forebear – so why doesn’t the Pixel 10 Pro Fold earn the same five star score? Simply put, rival foldables have stepped up their game this year, prioritising slim dimensions without compromising elsewhere. Google’s effort is that little bit chunkier, and lacks a bit of wow factor as a result. The Pixel is still an excellent all-rounder, though, with a very capable set of cameras, decent battery life, and some features you won’t find anywhere else like Qi2 charging and IP68 protection. Android is as slick as ever, whether you’re on board with all the Gemini additions or not. General performance is really rather good too, even if benchmark scores don’t always back that up. So while it feels like an iterative update, rather than the top-to-bottom overhaul Samsung gave the Z Fold 7, long-time Pixel fans that aren’t concerned about being the thinnest or lightest will still find plenty to like.

For as much as I praised the Pixel 9 Pro Fold last year (I gave it a 5/5), I was a bit worried about the Pixel 10 Pro Fold leading up to today’s launch. You see, 12 months ago, Google created the ideal sizing for a foldable phone in the US when Samsung’s fold screens were too narrow. But this year, the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s bigger screens fixed Samsung’s biggest issue, and the phone got so much thinner. Google remains mostly the same. But there are other perks to talk about with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. It boasts a larger battery capacity, MagSafe-like Pixelsnap wireless charging, and numerous AI-enhanced features. Camera Coach helps you become a better photographer, Magic Cue pulls up important info across apps, and 100x AI Pro Res Zoom cleans up distant photos very nicely.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold HANDS-ON: First Impressions vs Galaxy Z Fold 7
Quelle: Tom's Guide Englisch
Mark goes hands-on with the new Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and it beats the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 in a few key ways. It's the first foldable phone with IP68 water and dust resistance. You also get a bigger battery, bigger zoom, and it's AI features are very impressive, including Magic Cue. Best of all, Google's foldable is $200 cheaper. But the new Pixel Fold is also thicker and heavier than the Z Fold 7. We got to take a close-up look for Made By Google 2025 ahead of our full review, so here's how it stacks up.

Hands on: Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold isn’t a reinvention, but two major upgrades make it a foldable worth considering
Quelle: Techradar Englisch EN→DE
While not a reinvention, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold looks like a solid upgrade that offers potentially better performance, improved durability, Qi 2 charging, and Pixelsnap – Google's answer to Apple's MagSafe. However, without major camera upgrades or more visible design improvements, it looks like it's treading water compared to the stunningly thin and light Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, even if it handily beats its Samsung rival on affordability.
