Das abschließende Fazit ist denkbar einfach. Wenn ihr euch im Google-Universum zu Hause fühlt und alle KI-Funktionen als Erste ausprobieren und nutzen möchtet, dann ist das Pixel 10 Pro XL genau das Richtige für euch. Eine sehr gute Kamera und ein sehr gutes Display gibt es auch noch dazu. Jeder, der sich jetzt nicht angesprochen fühlt, bekommt bei jedem anderen Hersteller hingegen deutlich mehr Flaggschiff-Smartphone für sein Geld. Das Pixel 10 Pro hat signifikante Schwächen, die größtenteils durch den Tensor-Prozessor bedingt sind. Selbst bei der Kamera ist Google nicht mehr unangefochten die Nummer eins. Gleichzeitig sind die Preise aber endgültig auf Apple-Niveau angelangt – die Hoffnung auf einen schnellen Preisverfall bleibt.

Kein anderes Pixel schnitt bis dato so stark im Testlabor ab! Das Pixel 10 Pro XL ist ein richtig gutes Smartphone mit besten Update-Aussichten und liegt nur knapp hinter den besten Handys. Bei der Fotoqualität in Standardsituationen bleiben weitere Verbesserungen aus, aber sie ist trotzdem auf höchstem Niveau. Die eigentliche Foto-Sensation zahlt zwar nicht auf die Testnote ein, weil man extreme Telefotos im Alltag selten braucht, aber die KI-gepimpten Ergebnisse des Pro Res Zooms sind mitunter wirklich verblüffend. Über das fehlende Reverse Charging tröstet der Qi2-Standard, der nun endlich auch magnetisches Zubehör nach Vorbild von Apples MagSafe erlaubt. Das Pixel 10 Pro XL ist schneller, heller und ausdauernder als sein starker Vorgänger und zoomt wie kein anderes Handy.

Die KI-Funktionen sind größtenteils nützlich und arbeiten dank 16 GB RAM flüssig. Google hat endlich ein Smartphone gebaut, das in allen Bereichen überzeugt – fast. Schwächen zeigen sich beim Tensor G5-Chip, der bei anspruchsvollen Aufgaben nicht mit Snapdragon oder Apple Silicon mithalten kann. Die Akkulaufzeit fällt trotz großer Kapazität nur durchschnittlich aus. Der hohe Preis macht das Gerät zu einer kostspieligen Investition, die sich nicht jeder leisten kann oder will. Wer Googles KI-Features schätzt, ein großes Display benötigt und bereit ist, viel Geld auf den Tisch zu legen, erhält ein hervorragendes Smartphone. Alle anderen greifen zum kompakteren Pixel 10 Pro oder warten auf Preissenkungen.

Das Google Pixel 10 Pro und 10 Pro XL liefern erneut ein starkes Gesamtpaket: Mit extrem hellem Display, sehr guter Triple-Kamera bei Tag und Nacht, edlem Design und cleveren KI-Funktionen gehören sie klar zu den besten Android-Smartphones 2025. Dazu kommen 7 Jahre Software-Support, moderne Features wie Wi-Fi 7, UWB und MagSafe-kompatibles Wireless Charging sowie ein flotter Ultraschall-Fingerabdrucksensor. Am Ende konnte Google sogar die Akkulaufzeit deutlich steigern. Abzüge gibt es beim Tensor G5 Chip, der nicht ganz mit der Konkurrenz mithalten kann, beim etwas langsamen Laden und bei der fragwürdigen Akkudrosselung nach 200 Ladezyklen. Dass Google beim Pixel 10 Pro noch 128 GB als Basisspeicher anbietet und dann „nur“ UFS 3.1 statt 4.0 Speicher verbaut, ist zudem schade.

Die Akkulaufzeit des Pixel 10 Pro XL hat sich trotz des etwas größeren 5.200-mAh-Akku im Vergleich zum Vorgänger mit 5.060-mAh-Akku kaum verändert. Ich komme weiterhin locker durch den Tag und habe am Abend noch einen großzügigen Puffer. Bei wenig Nutzung sind es auch zwei Tage, weil der Energieverbrauch im Ruhezustand so niedrig ist. Das Pixel 10 Pro XL lädt mit bis zu 45 Watt – tatsächlich habe ich mit maximal 25 Watt an einem normalen Netzteil und mit maximal 35 Watt an einem PPS-Ladegerät geladen. Beide können eigentlich 65 Watt. Die Ladezeit liegt damit bei fast 1,5 Stunden. Die ersten 70 Prozent erreicht das Smartphone dabei in etwa 30 Minuten. Danach sinkt die Ladeleistung rapide. Da hätte ich mir ehrlicherweise etwas mehr erwartet.

Die Helligkeit des großen OLED-Displays steigt erneut und befindet sich auf sehr hohem Niveau, und auch in puncto Bilddarstellung überzeugt es voll. Der Akku ist geringfügig gewachsen, was aber kaum Auswirkungen auf die Laufzeit hat. Glücklicherweise war diese schon beim Vorgänger prima, so erweist sich auch das Pixel 10 Pro XL als Dauerläufer. Die Ausstattung gefällt und beinhaltet nun Bluetooth 6. Nur der eigene Prozessor bleibt Googles Schwachpunkt. Zwar ist die Leistung des Tensor G5 mehr als genug für alle gängigen Anwendungen, aber mit Snapdragon und Co. kann er nicht ganz mithalten. Alles in allem ist das neue Google-Flaggschiff dennoch ein exzellentes Highend-Smartphone.

Pixel 10 Pro XL im Test: Endlich tut sich wieder was bei Handys

Das beginnt beim 100-fach-Zoom. Braucht man den wirklich? Nein. Aber es ist nett, ihn zu haben. Und auch, wenn man damit eher Gebäude und keine Menschen oder Tiere so nah heranholen sollte, es ist für mich das beeindruckendste KI-Feature, das das Pixel 10 zu bieten hat. Und es ist auch etwas, was ich im Alltag tatsächlich verwende. Gleichzeitig ist es auch der größte Eingriff, den ich KI bei meinen Fotos machen lassen möchte. Foto-Spielereien wie Menschen oder Dinge wegradieren, Hintergrund tauschen oder die zusammengeschnittenen Gruppenfotos greifen einfach zu stark in die Realität ein. Auf die Frage, “Hey, wann habt ihr denn dieses Gruppenfoto gemacht” müsste man mit “Nie” antworten, wenn die KI einfach aus 5 Fotos Gesichter zusammengestellt hat.

Das Google Pixel 10 Pro XL ist ein spannendes Gerät, aber auch ein zwiespältiges. Auf der einen Seite liefert es genau das, wofür Pixel-Smartphones seit Jahren bekannt sind: eine hervorragende Kamera mit einem sehr natürlichen Bildlook, eine cleane Software, ein starkes Display mit enormer Helligkeit und clevere Software-Tricks. Auch die Lautsprecher gehören zum Besten, was man derzeit in einem Smartphone finden kann. Auf der anderen Seite wirkt das Pixel 10 Pro XL in manchen Bereichen fast schon langweilig schlicht. Das Design ist unspektakulär, die Farbauswahl wenig inspirierend und in der Hand liegt es im direkten Vergleich zu Samsung oder Apple schlicht unkomfortabler. Dazu kommt der Tensor G5, der zwar für den Alltag mehr als ausreichend ist, aber immer noch klar hinter Snapdragon und Apple Silicon zurückbleibt.

Dasselbe gilt dafür, dass nicht alle KI-Funktionen, mit denen Googles Smartphones in den USA ausgeliefert werden, hier nutzbar sind. So fehlt etwa die »Magic Cue«-Funktion, die den Überblick über Termine, Reisen und vieles mehr behalten und jederzeit und überall darüber Auskunft geben können soll.

Lohnt ein Upgrade vom Pixel 9 Pro XL / Pixel 9 Pro auf eines der neuen Modelle? In meinen Augen sollte man dann lieber noch ein Jahr warten, zumal ich mir durchaus vorstellen könnte, dass das eine oder andere KI-Feature der 10er-Reihe auch seinen Weg auf einen der Vorgänger findet. Das Pixel 10 Pro XL (gilt auch für das einfach Pro) ist für mich das etwas bessere Pixel 9 Pro XL, was in der Tat vor allem an den KI-Funktionen liegt und der Tatsache, dass man hier mittlerweile auf die 128 GB verzichtet, stattdessen mit 256 GB startet. Der Tensor G5 arbeitet effizienter, das schlägt sich aber im normalen Alltag kaum nieder.

Still, with 7 years of updates, we fully expect Google to patch those issues and improve the phone as time goes by.

Whether you choose the Pixel 10 Pro or Pixel 10 Pro XL, however, you're getting what I consider to be the best Android phone you can buy right now.

Despite its weaknesses in terms of benchmarking and gaming performance, I’m a big fan of the latest Pro Pixel. It looks great, has a brilliant display and very consistent camera performance. It’s not perfect by any means, but with the added convenience of PixelSnap, it slots into everyday life easily and may just convince some iPhone users to switch to Android.

As a phone, the Pixel 10 Pro XL has a lot going for it. The design looks quite attractive, the display is incredible, the software is clean and functional, and the cameras work really well. As for the downsides, the phone is quite cumbersome to use because of its weight and stiff buttons, the G5 chip is lacking compared to rivals with questionable long-term performance, and the charging speeds and battery life remain unimpressive.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

Tensor G5: Der Google Tensor G5 ist ein von Google selbst eintwickelter SoC mit Fokus auf die AI Leistung. Er wird in den Pixel 10 Smartphones eingesetzt und integriert drei ARM basierte CPU Cluster. Ein schneller ARM Cortex-X4 Kern ist für Single Thread Performance zuständig und wird mit bis zu 3,78 GHz getaktet. Fünf mittlere ARM Cortex-A725 Kerne werden mit bis zu 3,05 GHz getaktet. Zwei kleine Effizienzkerne vom Typ ARM Cortex-A520 sind mit 2,25 GHz getaktet.
