Value-wise, the Omen Max 16 has to be weighed against other gaming laptops with similar specs, and a lot of them have come along at once. There's the MSI Vector 16 HX AI, which has 16 GB of RAM but costs $900 less. And there's the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) which costs $300 more and has a 120 W version of the GPU. So it does occupy some middle ground, especially when you put 32 GB of RAM in the Vector, and in recent laptop tests it's the cheapest to offer the 175 W RTX 5080 and 32GB of RAM. It's still not a budget machine—and that's okay—but the Omen Max 16 has a lot of competition out there from the usual suspects. You'll also have to keep the fans high if you want the best performance, so perhaps some of the best noise-cancelling headphones should be on your shopping list too.

EN→DEOverall, the HP Omen Max 16 is a great gaming laptop for the price of PHP 229,990. It’s not perfect; in fact, far from it. For starters, it’s not exactly the easiest to bring around. This specific variant of the Omen Max 16 also uses an IPS display only. The OLED version is a bit more expensive. But for the performance it offers, you get your money’s worth.Still, at this price point, you will have a lot of options at your disposal. More importantly, if you’re looking at this segment of gaming laptops, I’m sure you can easily stretch your budget by PHP 20,000 to PHP 40,000 more if you want a gaming laptop with an OLED panel or even a more powerful RTX 5090. But if you want to save a bit, you can’t go wrong with the HP Omen Max 16.

EN→DEThe HP Omen Max 16 (2025) is a solid gaming laptop with decent levels of power, a good port selection and a bright, punchy IPS screen. Against key rivals though, the battery life isn’t as strong, it leaves some performance on the table and the design isn’t as eye-catching. Both the Medion Erazer Beast 16 X1 Ultimate (RTX 5080) and MSI Vector 16 HX AI A2XW (2025) are slightly cheaper, have similar or better screens and much stronger endurance. They’re also more powerful, in spite of having the same components at their core. For the £2999/$3149.99 asking price of HP’s option, you can do better. EN→DEHP’s gaming arm is trying something different, though it’s still trying to claw attention from the competition with the inclusion of an RGB light bar under the front of the chassis. There are more than a few reasons I would gravitate toward the HP Omen Max 16 as my PC of choice, but there are niggling issues that need to be ironed out. HP is held back by its software more than anything else, but despite its keyboard, the Omen Max 16’s hardware—specifically, the Instant Pair feature with peripherals—is something every PC maker should look to emulate.

EN→DEHP's Omen Max 16 delivers top-tier performance without question. If you end up losing a game, rest assured that it won't be due to lag or hardware limitations. For gamers and creative professionals alike, this laptop offers excellent value – packing powerful specs at a price that undercuts many competitors in the same class. While it does have a few minor drawbacks, such as average speakers and noticeably loud fans under load, these don't significantly detract from the overall experience, especially considering the performance you're getting for the price. In the configuration we reviewed, the Omen Max 16 proves itself a worthy investment and a solid choice for anyone seeking a high-performance gaming laptop that can hold its own at the desk all day long.

EN→DEThe HP Omen Max 16 is a capable, though rather dull, option in the highly competitive field of mid to high-end gaming laptops with Nvidia RTX 50-series hardware. It provides performance that’s broadly like the alternatives yet lacks features that might help it separate it from the pack. It doesn’t have the flair of the Asus ROG Strix Scar 16 or the performance of the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i 16. Yet there’s one thing about the HP Omen Max 16 that’s very attractive: the price. Listed at an MSRP of $3,339.99 and currently sold (and in stock!) on Best Buy for $3,139.99, the Omen Max 16 is towards the low end of pricing for a 16-inch gaming laptop with an Intel Core Ultra 9 and RTX 5080. And, as mentioned, it performs about as well as its more expensive peers.

EN→DEThe Omen Max 16 is a great looking laptop, the model we were sent for the review is finished in a stunning white ceramic coating that certainly catches the eye. The finish is further accentuated by the great RGB implementation across the keyboard and underglow strip. However, when we look at performance, it is plagued by the usual thermal issues that arise when manufacturers cram power hungry parts in to thin chassis. When using the ‘Unleashed' power profile found in the Omen Gaming Hub software, the Core Ultra 275HX very quickly hits its thermal limits and in turn throttles power usage, which results in substantial dips in performance core clock speeds and performance. The 1TB SSD also disappointed when considering the £2999 price point. Game install sizes have grown year on year and we think 1TB just isn't enough for a premium gaming machine in 2025. The screen is a saving grace though – it's gorgeous, producing vibrant, crisp and smooth visuals which will satisfy even the most demanding pixel peepers.

EN→DEThe HP Omen Max 16 is a bold step forward for HP’s gaming lineup, delivering desktop-level performance in a sleek, redesigned chassis. With standout specs like the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, RTX 5080 GPU, and a vapor chamber cooling system, it’s clear HP isn’t just playing catch-up, they’re setting a new bar for value in the high-end gaming segment. While it does fall slightly behind rivals like the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 16 in benchmarks, the nearly ₹79,000 lower price tag makes the Omen Max 16 a compelling choice for gamers. Yes, it has some minor shortcomings like average speakers, a slightly mushy keyboard, and limited display options in India, but those feel like small trade-offs when you consider the overall package. For gamers and creators seeking power, style, and relatively better value, the Omen Max 16 is easily HP’s best gaming laptop to date.

EN→DEIn India, the HP Omen Max 16 is priced at Rs. 3,09,999. This configuration includes the Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, RTX 5080 Laptop GPU, 32GB DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB Gen5 SSD. It’s available as a single variant, which is a bit of a letdown when you consider the options available overseas. In global markets, the Omen Max 16 can be configured with an OLED display, an even more powerful RTX 5090 GPU, 2TB storage, or 64GB of RAM — all of which add a layer of flexibility that Indian buyers currently don’t get. Then again, at ₹3.1 lakhs, even this base model is an expensive proposition, putting it well beyond reach for most mainstream buyers. So, for the few who can afford it, is it worth it? If raw power is your top priority, then absolutely. The HP Omen Max 16 is easily one of the most capable gaming laptops of 2025.

The 2025 HP Omen Max is their highest end gaming laptop with a 16” matte black aluminum casing, 16” OLED 240Hz display option, Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and your choice of an NVIDIA RTX 5080 or 5070 Ti 175 watt GPUs. HP has really stepped up their game in terms of design, performance and specs. It competes with the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 and Asus ROG Strix Scar 16 laptops.

EN→DEIf your workflows involve pushing large numbers of pixels about, as video or in 3D, then a PC with a GPU like this will certainly help speed things up. The HP Omen Max 16 is a true desktop replacement, and is studded with fast ports to move data in and out. It has the expected low battery life of a gaming laptop, but its 32GB of RAM may also be a bit small for heavy modern workloads.

EN→DEAs someone who’s been using an HP Omen for quite a while now, I had high hopes for the HP Omen Max 16. And for the most part, HP delivered with its powerful overall performance, epic display, solid keyboard, and decent heat management. However, I wanted more out of the gaming performance and battery life, especially for its price. If you’re looking for something with strong battery life and epic performance, check out the Gigabyte Aorus Master 16 for over $1,000 less. However, you simply cannot beat the HP Omen Max’s 16-inch OLED display. That color is straight up dripping.
