Guys, it’s hard to find any major cons regarding the Lenovo Legion 5i (16″, Gen 9). Alright, we’re expecting a metal base, but the plastic one here is solid which is very important. Aside from that, the overall performance is great thanks to the capable cooling system. The Core i5-13450HX (which is the default CPU option) can maintain a 4.00GHz P-core clock in short loads and 3.72 GHz / 3.08 GHz P and E-core frequency in longer max CPU stress. Not only that but the optional GeForce RTX 4060 (Laptop) can sustain a stable 2715MHz core clock. That’s the highest GPU frequency we’ve seen from an RTX 4060! That’s possible because of the potent thermal solution with large fans, many heat pipes, and big metal plates.

Featuring a Nvidia RTX 4050, 4060 or 4070 GPU and a large 16-inch, 165Hz display, the Legion 5i is built to push your gaming experience to the next level. The laptop is also very capable for daily productivity use and blends in at the office or Uni once you turn off the eye-catching RGB lighting. At 32 x 26 x 2.5 cm (0.99 x 14.16 x 10.33 inches) and weighing 2.3kg (5.1lbs), the 5i just makes it into the range of what I would consider as realistically portable, meaning that it slots into a larger backpack or laptop bag without too much fuss. At the time of writing, the three Legion 5i GPU variants (4050, 4060 and 4070) are sold with the Core i7-14650HX or i9-14900HX CPUs, up to 32GB of RAM, and a 512GB or 1TB SSD. All three video cards use the full 140W power profile.

Among its category, Lenovo Legion 5 is the player who came to the basketball court in a business suit. But interestingly, this did not affect its performance in any way. It demonstrates competitive performance for its configuration, has good manipulators, all the necessary ports, a good display, allows the owner to upgrade the memory, and so on. However, since this is not a flagship, there is no support for Wi-Fi 7, faster-than-gigabit Ethernet, or convenient authentication methods. But such moments will not be important for everyone. Still, if your goal is to buy a gaming laptop with a neutral design and without paying extra for all the colors of the rainbow on all sides of the case, the Legion 5 will be a great candidate for such a place.

The Lenovo Legion 5i is an all-around high-quality gaming laptop and a great value. It’s not the most premium machine, but it’s a very good price for a gaming laptop with discrete Nvidia graphics, a screaming fast Intel Core i9 CPU, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB solid-state drive. While the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 graphics here is far from the fastest part, this machine is set up to squeeze lots of gaming performance out of its hardware. Laptops with higher-end graphics — a GeForce RTX 4070 and up — will perform better in games, even if their other specs appear lower. But they’re also more expensive: That RTX 4070-powered Alienware m16 R2 we compared it to costs $1,849. That’s $449 more than the Lenovo Legion 5i. Of course, Nvidia’a GeForce RTX 50-series parts are on the way. Laptops like this one might end up on a good sale price soon. But, in the current market, this machine is a good buy even at its retail price.

Abysmal battery life aside, there’s very little to complain about with the entire Legion family. As the second-most budget-conscious of the Legion laptops (when on sale at third-party retailers), the Legion 5i is a solid current-gen update with plenty to recommend it, from impressive performance and solid graphics to a satisfying keyboard and more ports than I know what to do with. While the per-key RGB lighting on the Legion 7i and Legion Pro 5 and 7 laptops makes a solid argument for upgrading from the Legion 5i, there’s little other reason to opt for one of the higher-end Legion laptops unless you desperately need an RTX 4080 under the hood.

6.00: Es handelt sich um ein kleines Display-Format für Smartphones. Man sollte nicht stark fehlsichtig sein und man wird wenig Details am Bildschirm sehen und nur eine kleine Auflösung zur Verfügung haben. Dafür sollte das Gerät klein und handlich sein, gut transportierbar.

16.00: Dieser Bereich für Displayformate war und ist eine Seltenheit. Es ist größer als der allgemeine Standard von 15 Zoll, aber noch nicht im Bereich der großen Workstations. Man hat üblicherweise höhere Bildschirmauflösungen zur Verfügung, darunter leidet aber auch die Portabilität.
