The Z2 Plus (3 GB/ 32 GB) was one heck of device even when it was priced at Rs. 17,999 but now that Lenovo has slashed down the price of the smartphone by three grand, we think this makes it an even sweeter deal. There could have been some improvements around the camera and few more tweaks in the UI would have been nice but that said, the smartphone is a beauty in the looks department with beast-like power. Although there are a number of devices in this price segment, we do not think any of them comes remotely close to the Z2 Plus. So if you are on a tight budget and want a flagship level device, should you buy it?

With the Z2 Plus you are getting a flagship level chipset in the mid-range segment pricing. So it will definitely appeal to the college going crowd or someone who is upgrading from sub-Rs 10,000 phone.

Modell: Dank seines schlanken Profils eignet sich das Z2 Plus perfekt für einhändige Nutzung, ohne dass es Kompromisse bei Leistung und Qualität eingehen würde. Es misst 141,7 x 68,9 x 8,5 mm und wiegt nur 149 g. Sein Chassis ist aus Magnesium-Legierung mit einem Roll-Cage-Design. Das heißt, dass alle Komponenten auf ein Metallrahmen montiert sind, um die strukturelle Integrität des Phones zu erhöhen und zu einem effektiven Kühlsystem beizutragen. Die Rückseite des Phones ist vollständig mit Glas bedeckt. Dies verleiht dem Gerät ein einfaches und elegantes Aussehen, ist jedoch ein Magnet für Fingerabdrücke und Schmutz. Die Bildschirmgröße wurde beim Z2 Plus auf 5-Zoll verringert, wobei die Auflösung von 1.080 x 1.920 Pixeln beibehalten wurde. Dies ergibt eine Pixeldichte von 441 ppi. Der Bildschirm kann scharfe, saubere und helle Bilder mit ziemlich genauen und natürlich aussehenden Farben erzeugen. Das Z2 Plus wird durch einen Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Prozessor in Kombination mit einer Adreno 530 GPU angetrieben. Das Gerät ist in zwei Varianten erhältlich: 3 GB RAM mit 32 GB internen Speicher oder 4 GB mit 64 GB internen Speicher. Leider bietet keine der beiden Varianten eine Speichererweiterungsmöglichkeit via MicroSD-Karte. Das Z2 Plus verfügt über eine primäre 13-MP-Kamera an der Rückseite mit f/2.2-Blende, die es ihr auch bei schlechten Lichtbedingungen ermöglicht qualitativ hochwertige Bilder zu schießen. Die 8-MP-Frontkamera kann 1080p-Videos aufzeichnen. Das Phone verfügt über einen großen, nicht entfernbaren Akku, der zirka 2 Stunden Akkulaufzeit ermöglicht.

Am Z2 Plus läuft ab Werk Android v6.0.1 Marshmallow mit einigen interessanten Zusätzen. Eine davon ist die U-Health App, bei welcher es sich im Wesentlichen um eine angepasste Version von Google Fit handelt. Die App zeichnet immer die Schritte des Users, die Kalorien und die Strecken auf. In Kombination mit der U-Health-App hat Lenovo Pro-Fitness Ant+-Sensoren eingebaut, um Echtzeitdaten für Health und andere Anwendungen aufzuzeichnen. User können manuell verschiedene Übungen wie Laufen, Yoga oder Schwimmen hinzufügen und die U-Health-App ist intelligent genug, um zwischen den verschiedenen physikalischen Aktivitäten zu unterscheiden. Alle diese Daten werden sicher am Phone gespeichert und User können ihre Fortschritte über die Zeit verfolgen. Der physikalische Home-Button des Z2 Plus names U-Touch-Button fungiert auch als Fingerabdruckleser und kann durch den User so konfiguriert werden, dass er echte Einhand-Bedienung ermöglicht. Der Fingerabdruckleser ist mit einem Selbst-Lern-Algorithmus kombiniert. Das heißt, dass er mit der Zeit genauer wird und ein ziemlich schnelles und einfaches Entsperren des Phones ermöglicht. Der CAC-Algorithmus des Fingerabdruckmoduls entdeckt sogar Abweichungen (abgehende Haut, Wunden, trockene Haut, etc. und kann das Phone auch mit nassen und öligen Fingern entsperren). Standardmäßig fungiert ein Tippen am U-Touch-Button als Back-Button, während Hinunterdrücken den Home-Screen darstellt. Der User kann die Aktionen für Wischen nach links und rechts, Doppelklicken oder langes Drücken des U-Touch-Buttons in der Settings-App festlegen. Das Smartphone ist definitiv eine gute Wahl für Käufer, die sich nach einem Flaggschiff-Gerät mit 5-Zoll-Bildschirm umsehen.
