Das Design ist ansprechend und die Wasserdichtigkeit zeitgemäß. Auch das Display und die Kamera überzeugten im Test – nur bei voller Vergrößerung glänzt Letztere nicht. Dafür ist in den niedrigeren Zoomstufen und auch bei den Selfies die Detailtreue gut. Schade ist, dass Motorola dem Pro-Modell im Vergleich zum Vorgänger weniger Leistung beim Prozessor gönnt. Der verbaute Snapdragon ist zwar nicht langsam, aber er sorgt dafür, dass sich das Gerät eher in Richtung Mittel- statt Oberklasse bewegt. Da hilft auch das große Netzteil gepaart mit einem ordentlichen Akku wenig.

It compares well with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, with the compromises generally coming from specifications that aren’t strictly directly related to the quality of the onboard camera, such as to the screen. The best results come from the 1x lens, but the others also put in a very good performance too, making this a great all-rounder. I’ve seen better macro options elsewhere, but the pictures are reasonable enough for ordinary usage, but portraits and low light are a bit more impressive. So, in answer to the question – is the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra as good as a Samsung flagship – well, it’s a definite maybe.

Gaming on Genshin Impact etc seems smooth on the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, despite the lesser Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, vs rivals like Samsung's Galaxy S24 Ultra. You've got the usual stock Android setup here, with the Moto app adding some nifty bonus tools. The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra has a dedicated gaming mode and user-friendly camera experience, with Pantone colour approval. You've also got a 4500mAh battery with 125w charging (and 50w wireless charging). Stick around for my full review of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra to see how the battery life and camera hold up against rival phones like the S24 Ultra and Pixel 8 Pro. The one issue—and it isn't a small one—that we have with the Edge 50 Ultra is that it only comes with 3 years of Android updates. Now, granted, if you don't plan on owning the phone for any longer than that, then maybe you wouldn't mind this setback.

In any case, despite the promising hardware, a full review will reveal whether the 4,500 mAh battery will be enough for dependable endurance and it's going to be interesting to see how the new camera system will fare against the competition. The Moto Edge 50 Ultra is expected to come to market by the end of May and a lot could change in that timeframe.

At €999, it’s closer competition to the Google Pixel 8 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S24+. Style-wise I think it comfortably competes, especially the Nordic Wood version, and it has them both beaten on charging speeds. Performance should be almost level, and the display is up to par too. Battery life is an unknown, and Motorola’s software additions aren’t quite as head-turning as Samsung’s Galaxy AI, though. Ultimately how well those rear cameras perform will dictate whether it can earn a place among flagship rivals.

Ok, so with everything I just talked about, this phone, the Moto Edge 50 Fusion for a starting price of 23,000, is definitely an excellent package with a gorgeous design, superb display, acceptable performance, battery life, and “not-so-optimized cameras” but still good enough for the price! The no. 2 problem with Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is stock availability! The one I have with me is a review unit, and I was able to get it before the launch, but if you want to buy the Edge 50 Fusion right now, after more than 1 month of its launch, the stock is just not there. So, I think these are the things Moto has got to improve because I see real potential here! In fact, Motorola has currently entered the Top 10 Android smartphone brands in India, with over 100% growth in 2023.

Ok, so with everything I just talked about, this phone, the Moto Edge 50 Fusion for a starting price of 23,000, is definitely an excellent package with a gorgeous design, superb display, acceptable performance, battery life, and “not-so-optimized cameras” but still good enough for the price! The no. 2 problem with Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is stock availability! The one I have with me is a review unit, and I was able to get it before the launch, but if you want to buy the Edge 50 Fusion right now, after more than 1 month of its launch, the stock is just not there. So, I think these are the things Moto has got to improve because I see real potential here! In fact, Motorola has currently entered the Top 10 Android smartphone brands in India, with over 100% growth in 2023.

From the camera tech and gaming prowess to the battery life, here's what to expect from the Motorola Edge 50 Neo. Official launch should be in a month or so, stay tuned for the Tech Spurt unboxing and review! This mid-range smartphone will have serious competition in the Nothing Phone 2a Plus, OnePlus Nord 4 etc. However, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo is more compact, and boasts full IP68 water and dust resistance. You've also got a lovely stock Android vibe as usual. Performance will be limited for gaming, but shoul dbe more than good enough for everyday shenanigans. And the Dimensity 7300 is energy efficient, so hopeully you'll get a full day of use from a charge, no worries. The Motorola Edge 50 Neo also boasts upgraded camera tech vs the older 40 Neo. You've got a fresh zoom lens slapped on there, alongside the 50MP main and 13MP UWA shooters.

Das ursprüngliche Unternehmen Motorola Inc wurde 2011 aufgespalten. Motorola Mobility bekam den Smartphone-Bereich und wurde 2012 von Google übernommen und 2014 von Lenovo.

Das Unternehmen ist bekannt für seine Mobiltelefone und andere elektronische Geräte wie Smartwatches, Tablets und Zubehör. Motorola war eines der ersten Unternehmen, das Mobiltelefone hergestellt hat, und hat in den letzten Jahren auch in den Bereichen 5G-Technologie und modulare Smartphones (Moto Mods) Innovationen hervorgebracht. Motorola ist auch in den Bereichen öffentliche Sicherheit und professionelle Kommunikation tätig und bietet Lösungen für Regierungsbehörden, Unternehmen und andere Organisationen an. Das Unternehmen hat Niederlassungen in Nordamerika, Europa, Asien und Lateinamerika und beschäftigt weltweit mehr als 10.000 Mitarbeiter. 

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.

Qualcomm Adreno 710: Grafikchip für Smartphones und Tablets, integriert im Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC. Laut Qualcomm um 2x schneller als die alte Adreno 644 im Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

Qualcomm Adreno 644: Grafikchip für Smartphones und Tablets, integriert im Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. Laut Qualcomm um 20% schneller als die alte Vorgängergeneration.

ARM Mali-G615 MP2: Mittelklasse Grafikchip für Smartphones mit 2 der 6 möglichen Kernen. Basiert auf die vierte Generation der Valhall Architektur. Bietet Variable Rate Shading.

Qualcomm Snapdragon:

SD 7 Gen 3: Mittelklasse SoC mit 8 Kryo Kernen (1x ARM Cortex-A715 2,63 GHz Prime Core, 3x ARM Cortex A715 2,4 GHz Performance-Cluster, 4x ARM Cortex A510 mit 1,8 Effizienz-Cluster) und einem X63 5G Modem. Der Chip wird im modernen 4nm Prozess gefertigt.

SD 8s Gen 3: High-End SoC (System on a Chip) für Smartphones welcher in 2024 vorgestellt wurde. Integriert unter anderen einen schnellen Cortex-X4 "Prime Core" mit bis zu 3 GHz und 4 weitere schnelle Cortex-A720 2,8 GHz. Zum Stromsparen wurden außerdem 3weitere ARM Cortex-A520 Kerne mit 2,3 GHz verbaut. Integriert ein 5G Modem, WiFi 7 und eine deutlich schnellere AI Engine.

SD 7s Gen 2: Mittelklasse SoC mit 8 Kryo Kernen (4x ARM Cortex-A78 2,4 GHz Performance-Cluster, 4x ARM Cortex A55 1,95 GHz Effizienz-Cluster) und einem5G Modem (bis zu 2900 Mbps Download). Der Chip wird im modernen 4nm Prozess gefertigt.

SD 7 Gen 1: Mittelklasse SoC mit 8 Kryo Kernen (4x ARM Cortex A710 2,4 GHz Performance-Cluster, 4x ARM Cortex A5108 mit 1,8 Effizienz-Cluster) und einem X62 5G Modem (bis zu 4400 Mbps Download). Der Chip wird im modernen 4nm Prozess gefertigt.

Mediatek :

Dimensity 7300: Der Dimensity 7300 ist ein Mittelklasse-Prozessor mit integriertem 5G Modem. Der CPU-Teil integriert vier ARM Cortex-A78 Kerne mit bis zu 2,5 GHz und vier Stromsparkerne vom Typ Cortex-A55 mit bis zu 2 GHz. Der SoC wird im modernen 4nm Prozess gefertigt.
