Motorola Razr Fold

Motorola is firing on all cylinders in 2026 and you can tell. The Motorola Razr Fold (2026) is a premium, book-style foldable that genuinely impressed me. The rounded edges and the beautiful styling certainly help. I am not particularly impressed by Motorola's take on AI, but its clean software and absolute dominance in areas like battery life and charging, plus a capable camera system make this one an easy recommendation.

Motorola Razr Fold Review: Shockingly great, but is it too late?
Quelle: 9to5google Englisch EN→DE
For one, we’re less than two months from the debut of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, which is set to deliver some major fixes such as upping the battery capacity. The new wider Fold 8 is also going to be an appealing form factor for many. Motorola not only needs to convince prospective foldable buyers that it has a better option than Samsung and Google – which I feel it does – but also not to wait for Apple’s release, a conversation we wouldn’t have had if Motorola had launched this device a year ago, or even back in January when it was first unveiled. I remain pretty shocked at how good the Razr Fold is – Motorola stuck the landing in every important way on this device, but only time will tell if it worked out.

Motorola Razr Fold review: A foldable that gets the fundamentals right
Quelle: Business Standard Englisch EN→DE
The Motorola Razr Fold may be a newcomer to the book-style foldable segment, but it arrives as a mature product rather than an experimental one. It does not have the thinnest profile. It does not eliminate the display crease entirely. Nor does it offer the best video recording experience in its class. What it does deliver is a balanced foldable experience that addresses several of the category's long-standing weaknesses. The displays are excellent, multitasking feels purposeful, battery life is among the best in the segment, and the camera system performs reliably for photography. Most importantly, the Razr Fold feels like a device designed around everyday usability rather than engineering demonstrations. Motorola may have entered the book-style foldable market later than its rivals, but the Razr Fold shows that arriving late is not necessarily a disadvantage when the lessons of the past six years are applied correctly.

80% Motorola Razr Fold Review: Why It Breaks All the Rules
Quelle: Mark Ellis Reviews Englisch EN→DE
There’s one more thing hanging over the Razr Fold, and it’s not the phone’s fault: it’s the timing of the launch. I’m writing this in June 2026, and next month we should, in theory, see the next Samsung Z Fold series. Then there’s Apple, which doesn’t currently have a foldable but is rumoured to launch the iPhone Ultra later this year — a passport-shaped foldable iPhone. So, buying the Razr Fold now means potentially choosing it over a Samsung device that might land next month and an Apple device that might land before Christmas. Motorola seems genuinely confident about this phone and its audience. And that audience is real — every Motorola device I’ve covered, from the wood-backed flippable to the Edge, brings a serious fan base with it. If those fans have been waiting for a foldable to call their own, this is it.

In a world where money was no object, I’d recommend the Razr Fold to commuters who watch a lot of content on the go, need a reliable battery and only need a good enough camera. I’m thinking like a soccer mom who commutes to work every day and likes her pictures a bit overly vibrant. Or maybe a nerdy guy in college who likes gaming on his phone and wants the bigger screen to play games, while also multitasking and watching his lectures.

The Razr Fold is a stylish and impressively polished first book-style foldable from Motorola, getting the big things right with lovely displays, a minimal crease, dependable battery life and a genuinely strong camera setup. 73% Motorola Razr Fold vs Galaxy Fold 7: Motorola built a Galaxy killer, but don’t buy it just yet

On paper and in daily use, the choice feels surprisingly simple. The Razr Fold is just easier to live with than the current Galaxy Z Fold 7. It unfolds with less friction, multitasking feels more effortless, it charges faster and the battery actually lasts. On top of that, the cameras have a slight edge and it costs a bit less. Motorola has built a proficient Galaxy killer.

The Motorola Razr Fold is a beautifully designed, surprisingly cohesive full-sized foldable phone with a pair of excellent displays, strong cameras, and dependable battery life. It might not be as slim and light as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, but its warm and inviting design makes it deceptively easy to live with. Meanwhile, its consummate photographic skills, sizeable battery and extensive software support leave us searching for the points of friction. They’re still very much there, of course, in the shape of less-than-cutting-edge performance and a predictably high asking price. But neither of those things is sufficient to keep the Razr Fold from ‘serious contender’ status.

The Moto G Stylus 2026 is a fine phone. It’s quick enough, its cameras mostly work when I need them to, and its battery life never left me wanting. At this point, though, that’s all table stakes. There’s no shortage of phones around the G Stylus’s $500 price point that do nearly everything this phone does, often more competently. Motorola’s promise of just two Android version updates also lags behind much of the competition.

Motorola might be a latecomer to this specific form factor, but they clearly used that time to systematically fix some pain points plaguing competitor devices. By blending a remarkably slim chassis with a massive silicon-carbon battery and a pro-grade camera array, they have delivered a first-generation foldable that instantly handles like a mature, polished flagship slab phone. The software multitasking still needs a tiny bit of refinement, and the $1,899 price tag will certainly cause some hesitation for some.

90% The Motorola Razr Fold shouldn't matter, but I can't put it down
Quelle: Android Authority Englisch EN→DE
The Motorola Razr Fold is on sale now with a retail price of $1,900. That puts it right in between the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 ($1999.99 at Samsung) and the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold ($1919 at Amazon). However, despite its middle-child pricing, I’d argue that the Razr Fold is the best of the trio — and by a pretty considerable margin. Compared to your foldable options from Samsung and Google, the Razr Fold is the only one you can easily rely on for two-day battery life (and has the fastest charging by a significant margin, too). The Razr Fold’s camera system is the one I’d choose every single time over its competitors. The Razr’s performance is on par with the Z Fold 7 while simultaneously running cooler; its software is excellent, and it doesn’t come with the usual Motorola caveat regarding update support. I can't recommend the Motorola Razr Fold enough. Samsung still has the upper hand if an ultra-thin design is your top priority, while Google remains the only foldable in the US with an IP68 rating and Qi2 magnetic charging. Those aren’t insignificant advantages, but they pale in comparison to everything else Motorola’s phone does better. The Razr Fold isn’t perfect, but for a book-style foldable you can buy in the US, it’s the closest I’ve ever seen. It’s one of those phones I don’t want to put down, and if you’re in the market for a folding phone like this, I can’t recommend the Razr Fold enough.

Motorola Razr Fold Review: The Complete Foldable Package
Quelle: BGR Englisch EN→DE
I hesitate to treat the Razr Fold as a first-generation product because the situation isn't that simple — Motorola has been building foldables for years now. In this form, it is the first of its kind from the company, though, and it's a pretty compelling option. What it's not is the new clear leader. There are aspects of the phone that don't measure up to the likes of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Despite those issues, I found the Motorola Razr Fold to be the best foldable on the whole right now, even if the hardware differences are fairly minor. It's well-rounded, offers great software, and takes good photos.

Motorola RAZR Fold BETTER than Samsung Z Fold 7? | Camera, Battery, Gaming & Beyond
Quelle: Tech Spurt Englisch
For a first full-sized folding phone, Moto really has smashed it out of the park in many ways. You've got a respectable triple lens camera slapped on the back, plus long battery life courtesy of the 6000mAh silicon carbon cell. The Motorola RAZR Fold also comes with bonus features like a stylus pen. Meanwhile the Samsung Z Fold 7 doesn't even support the maligned S Pen. I like the big-screen experience when you open this phone up, with the ability to multi-task with three apps side-by-side - although yes, the Motorola RAZR Ultra isn't quite as impressive as the OPPO Find N6 here. Nor is it as superbly slender - that's one battle the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 certainly wins.

83% Motorola Razr Fold review: a formidable first foldable
Quelle: 91mobiles Englisch EN→DE
Motorola’s first book-style foldable looks quite polished, which is saying something. The Razr Fold avoids the classic “first-generation pitfalls” by leveraging years of flip-phone expertise, resulting in a device that is robust, practical, and highly competitive right out of the gate. It does require a few intentional trade-offs. If your priority is the absolute slimmest chassis or the bleeding-edge benchmark scores of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, rivals like Samsung and Vivo remain ahead. Motorola’s software environment, while clean and highly customisable, also still needs a bit of large-screen optimisation to match the mature multitasking polish of OneUI. However, where the Razr Fold chooses to win, it wins decisively. By prioritising physical endurance, both in the form of a massive, fast-charging 6,000mAh battery and a robust steel hinge, alongside a genuinely excellent periscope camera system and unmatched eye-comfort display tech, Motorola has built a foldable designed for the real world. Backed by an industry-best 7-year software update promise, the Razr Fold isn’t just a great first attempt; it is one of the most reliable and practical book-style foldables you can buy in 2026.

90% Motorola Razr Fold Review: Samsung Should Be Worried
Quelle: Android Headlines Englisch EN→DE
Honestly? Yes. The Motorola Razr Fold is the most exciting book-style foldable I’ve used in a long time, and the fact that this is Motorola’s first attempt at this form factor makes it even more impressive. Motorola didn’t just show up to the book-style foldable party with some mediocre offering. They kicked the doors down with a massive battery, incredibly fast charging, eye-searingly bright displays, and a cheaper price tag. Though I do firmly believe Motorola was targeting an even lower price, the RAM crisis had other plans. That said, the Razr Fold isn’t perfect. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is plenty fast, but if you’re benchmark-obsessed, the Find N6 will edge it out. Motorola’s software is good but still trails OPPO and Samsung when it comes to multi-tasking gestures, and the Moto Pen Ultra, costing an extra $99, stings a bit when you’re already spending $1,899. For the first time in a long time, the Galaxy Z Fold isn’t the obvious pick at the top of the foldable heap, and that’s a great thing for all of us.

The Motorola Razr Fold feels remarkably polished for a first-generation book-style foldable. Instead of chasing gimmicks or trying to reinvent smartphone usage entirely, Motorola focused on solving many of the frustrations that have followed foldables for years. Battery life is genuinely strong. The hardware feels premium and comfortable. The displays are excellent. The software stays approachable. That may sound like faint praise, but practicality has not always been a guarantee in the foldable category. Many early foldables felt experimental first and useful second. The Razr Fold reverses that equation. Unfortunately for Motorola, this may also be one of the roughest possible moments to launch an ultra-premium foldable phone. Consumers are feeling squeezed from nearly every direction right now.

The Motorola Razr Fold 2026 is a solid start for Motorola's flagship fold ambitions. It's thin enough, light enough, and fast enough. Plus, it's infused with enough AI to compete with the big guns. Motorola Razr Fold Review: Edge Case

I think to make a successful Android foldable in 2026 you need to be either better than the competition; cheaper than the competition; or earlier than the competition – but you’ve gotta have two of those. The first book-type foldable from Motorola is better, but it’s not much cheaper and it is in no way earlier. So while I might prefer the new Razr Fold to phones like the Galaxy Fold 7 and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, I’m not sure how much that will matter in the long run. I’m MrMobile and these are my thoughts after almost two weeks with the Motorola Razr Fold (and its pen!).

The Motorola Razr Fold is, without question, the best foldable phone on the market right now. For years, Samsung has enjoyed a comfortable lead in this category, but Motorola has managed to overtake its rival by delivering a device that finally feels like the closest thing to being a complete laptop replacement. By combining a nearly invisible display crease with a robust, rugged design and a massive 6,000 mAh battery that goes the distance, the Razr Fold addresses the two big pain points I have with notebook foldables: durability and longevity. When you factor in the aggressive $1,899 price point — which undercuts the Galaxy Z Fold 7 while offering double the base storage — it becomes clear that Motorola isn't just competing. It's winning. That's made more poignant in how it handles multitasking, its desktop-class Smart Connect experience, and the highly novel Laptop and Desk modes that genuine makes it a productivity powerhouse. Even more impressive is how it's shortened the gap with its camera performance, which has historically been a weakness for Moto. If you’ve been waiting for a foldable that justifies its premium price with uncompromising performance, the Motorola Razr Fold is the one to get.

83% Motorola Razr Fold Review: One Hell of a First Impression
Quelle: CNet Englisch EN→DE
If you've been thinking about switching to a book-style foldable for the first time, the Motorola Razr Fold makes a strong case for itself -- even with its hefty $1,900 price tag. The phone's sleek feel, impressive cameras and solid battery life are the biggest selling points, and the interface is generally well-suited for its dual-screen design. Motorola's support for seven software upgrades helps to solidify the Razr Fold's premium flagship status. The Razr Fold is thin enough to feel like a slab phone when closed, and both the cover and main displays are comfortable and natural to use. Moto Pen stylus compatibility is an added bonus if you prefer jotting down notes the old-fashioned way -- though you'll have to shell out more money and can't store the pen inside the phone. If you're already using a foldable phone like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 or the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, it's harder to recommend making the leap to Motorola's offering. The overall experience doesn't feel different enough to justify switching. There are also pros and cons to each option, so it depends on what you choose to prioritize. The Razr Fold has a bigger battery, but I think the Z Fold 7 has more impressive cameras. And the Pixel 10 Pro Fold has a durable IP68 rating that makes it notable in its own right. Motorola's new foldable might not tap into nostalgia the way its clamshell-style Razr phones do, but it still feels poised to carve out an identity of its own.

Quelle: Android Central Englisch EN→DE
Overall, I am happy to say that Motorola largely stuck the landing on its first book-style foldable. The design and hardware are solid, the software is decently polished, and the image quality is a step above what I've come to expect from Motorola. It may not be as thin as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and the AI experience may be lacking, but the Motorola Razr Fold makes up for it with better battery life and stylus support, something it also has over the slightly cheaper Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Motorola also has the upper hand with more RAM and storage for the price, and the company is known for frequent sales on its phones, which is something to look forward to. The Razr Fold is available for preorder and retails for $1,900, with some nice bundles available. If you can deal with Motorola's lack of accessories and less reliable software upgrade policy, the Razr Fold is definitely worth checking out if you're in the U.S. and interested in buying a foldable.

88% Motorola Razr Fold review: A worthy rival to Google and Samsung
Quelle: Engadget Englisch EN→DE
Motorola might be a bit late when it comes to big foldables, but its first effort is a major success. The Razr Fold combines excellent screens and great cameras with class-leading battery life and top-notch charging speeds, assuming you don't mind paying extra for a new set of power adapters. And thanks to native stylus support, Moto is keeping the torch alive for a feature that seemed like it was headed for extinction. I still prefer the Galaxy Z Fold 7's design, because on devices like these, every ounce and millimeter matters. And it's not like Samsung's flagship is lagging much (if at all) when it comes to performance, image quality and overall usability. On the flipside, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold still has the best cameras, the most helpful AI features and the best durability thanks to its superior dust resistance. If you're in the market for a big new foldable phone, the Razr Fold is more than just a third wheel. It's a great option in its own right, and starting at $1,900, it's a touch more affordable than the Z Fold 7 too. The main thing that would stop me from getting one out the gate is that Motorola's two biggest rivals are last year's models and are due for a refresh this summer. But if you don't feel like waiting, the Razr Fold won't disappoint.

Moto Razr Fold Review: The Folding Phone That Puts Samsung On Notice

For years Motorola has enjoyed success with its affordable Moto G lineup (especially abroad), and since 2023, has established itself as a leader in flip-style folding handsets with its fashionable Moto Razr models. But when it comes to flagships, the company has struggled to compete against Apple, Samsung, Google, and Chinese heavyweights like Oppo, Honor, and Xiaomi. The Razr Fold changes all this. By applying its folding phone expertise to a book-style flagship, Motorola has delivered a solid hit. With its superb cameras, outstanding battery life, fast charging, and active pen support, the Razr Fold doesn’t just match today’s best Chinese folding handsets from Oppo and Honor, it outshines Samsung right here in its biggest market. Chipset aside, the Razr Fold is the best book-style folding phone available in North America today. The Moto Razr Fold ($1,899) is available for pre-order today from Motorola.com and Best Buy, with general sales starting May 21. The Motorola Razr Fold is up for preorder starting on May 14, 2026 at Best Buy and Motorola.com for $1,899.99. Preorders will be a free Motorola Pen Ultra included, which is a nice perk. Please remember that this is Motorola, and it's very likely this phone will be on perma-sale within the next few weeks or months, so if you don't need a new phone today, you might be better off waiting. But you should definitely consider it. This is, simply put, the best book-style foldable you can buy today. Whether or not that will be the case after summer has passed with one or potentially two competitors launching in that time frame, we'll have to wait and see. But as things stand right now, this is a phenomenal phone that can stand up to any other foldable phone on the market today. I wish, considering the price, Motorola had gone with the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, if for no better reason than futureproofing, and justifying the $1,899.99 price tag. But it's understandable. But if you're looking for the best foldable you can buy, the Motorola Razr Fold is your only choice.

The new Razr Fold is the company’s first swing at a book-style foldable, a direct competitor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. At $1,899.99 with a premium design and high-end specs, this phone is designed to compete directly with the big dogs - and Moto’s efforts pay off (well, for the most part). The Razr Fold feels like the type of phone that Motorola hopes will stand out by filling in the gaps left by others on the market. The camera quality and support for a stylus are two big factors. Between the great pictures I’ve taken and the fact that you can take notes by writing them down, there’s reason enough to get this phone over Samsung or Google’s. It’s also plenty fast, looks beautiful, and lasts all day on a full charge. Motorola’s software chops aren’t quite up to par with what Samsung’s been able to do with One UI, which does affect the multitasking experience of this foldable. I’m also not a fan of the lack of Qi2 MagSafe support, and it’d be nice not to have to pay an extra $100 for the pen. But as a whole, the Razr Fold stands on its own as a well-rounded smartphone that folds in half. If you’re just entering the world of foldables or need one you can write on, Moto’s device is for you.

70% Moto Razr Fold Review: A Promising Foldable With Serious Stamina
Quelle: PC Mag Englisch EN→DE
Motorola did a great job with its first book-style foldable phone, though I can tell it's seven generations behind Samsung and three behind Google. It's a bigger, weightier phone than its competitors, though that's primarily due to its larger 6,000mAh battery, which gives it a leg up in battery life. It has bigger, faster, and brighter screens, but not the top processor. And as neat as it is to claim having a triple-50MP camera system, Motorola's algorithms aren't as refined as Samsung's and Google's at producing the best photos. Last, Motorola's AI tools are solid but feel a bit rudimentary compared with Galaxy AI. At least Motorola has boosted its support commitment to a full seven years, the same as Google and Samsung. For those seeking top battery life, bright screens, and stylus support, the Motorola Razr Fold is a good option, but the Galaxy Z Fold 7 remains our Editors' Choice for folding phones thanks to its superior performance, svelte design, better cameras, and smarter AI.

Motorola Razr Fold review: The most sensible book-style foldable yet?
Quelle: Digit.in Englisch EN→DE
The Motorola Razr Fold, for me, is an important device for Motorola, not just because of the book-style foldable category, but because it attempts to make the segment feel slightly more approachable. And to a large extent, it succeeds. It has a premium design, slim form factor, bright display, strong multitasking, dependable battery life and a camera system that performs decently. At the same time, the device is not entirely free from compromises. The inner crease, while reduced, is still visible under certain lighting conditions. Software polish also needs some work, particularly with occasional transition stutters between the cover and inner display and a few inconsistent foldable-specific modes. The cameras are capable, but Motorola’s image processing can sometimes feel slightly aggressive, specifically with colours.

That being said, the Motorola Razr Fold is the brand's first book-style foldable smartphone, and it made sure to make it the best. The handset comes with a premium design, a sleek profile, decent internals, and more. However, the competition is quite tough here, as we have well-established brands like Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Vivo X Fold 5, and more, all of which are quite popular. That being said, stay tuned with us to know whether the new Motorola Razr Fold makes it to the league of premium foldable smartphones or not.

Motorola Razr Fold vs. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Can Moto Compete on Foldables?
Quelle: PC Mag Englisch EN→DE
Without firm testing data, we can't declare a real winner here, at least not quite yet. If you need to order a new folding phone soon, here are some points to consider. If you need the longest battery life, the Razr Fold's significantly bigger battery is likely to outlast the Z Fold 7.If productivity is paramount, Samsung's customized software is top-notch and will help you power through your day.Using your phone outside a lot? The screens on Motorola's foldable are more than twice as bright as Samsung's. If size matters, Samsung's phone is thinner, lighter, and more refined, giving it more appeal as your daily driver.

Motorola's 2026 Razr Fold Hands-On: Watch Out, Galaxy
Quelle: Hot Hardware Englisch EN→DE
The focus at this event was on the new Moto Razr Fold which, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 aside, is shaping up to be a competitive book-style folding phone. Between the flagship-grade triple 50MP rear camera system, 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, and active stylus support, this handset is poised to give Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold7 a serious run for the money. You’ll have to wait for my full review to find out how it stacks up in the real world, though. Moto’s trio of flip-style folding phones – the Razr 2026, Razr+ 2026, an Razr Ultra 2026 – only deliver incremental updates across the board. While I welcome the larger silicon-carbon batteries and improved cameras, the lack of updated SoCs and higher prices make these handsets harder to get excited about. Then again, perhaps that’s to be expected considering the current economic landscape shaped by a massive DRAM and NAND shortage. The Razr Fold ($1,899), Razr Ultra 2026 ($1,499), Razr+ 2026 ($1,099), and Razr 2026 ($799) will be available for pre-order on May 14, with general sales starting May 21 from Motorola.com and Best Buy. In addition, the Razr 2026, Razr+ 2026, and Razr Ultra 2026 will also be available from Amazon.com and select carriers. The Moto Buds 2 Plus are coming to Motorola.com on April 30, and the Moto Pen Ultra on May 21.

Motorola Razr Fold Specifications, Pros and Cons
Quelle: OI Spice Tech News Englisch EN→DE
Meet the new Motorola Razr Fold a phone that is as clever as it is cool. This is not just a foldable, it is a statement. When unfolded, you get a massive 8.1 inch screen that feels like a small tablet, but when folded, it tucks neatly into a 160.1 x 73.6 x 10.1 mm package that fits in any pocket. It is surprisingly light at 243 grams, and Motorola has made it tough enough for real life with IPX9 water resistance meaning it can handle high pressure water jets and even survive a dunk up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. Plus, you get dual SIM options (Nano + eSIM) and built-in stylus support for jotting notes or sketching. The displays are absolutely next level. The main foldable screen is a stunning 8.1 inch LTPO P-OLED with a buttery 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+. But it hits a staggering 6200 nits peak brightness that is visible even under direct sunlight. The cover screen is no slouch either a 6.6 inch LTPO P-OLED running at an ultra smooth 165Hz and 6000 nits brightness, protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3.

Motorola Razr Fold first impressions: focussing on the core experience
Quelle: 91mobiles Englisch EN→DE
With the Razr Fold, Motorola has jumped into the fray of book-style foldables, and while the brand has countered Samsung well over the years in the flip segment, this is serious territory. Samsung has had a hold over the fold (pun unintended) segment for a while now, especially in India, and the subcontinent is a crucial market for Motorola as well. Motorola hasn’t broken the mould here, but seems to have gotten the basics right. There’s no word on exact pricing and availability of the Razr Fold in India, but when it does land, we’d have a strong contender in the productivity-oriented, book-style foldable segment — capable enough to challenge both Samsung and Vivo, the two key players in this arena.

We put the Motorola Razr Fold through our rigorous DXOMARK Camera test suite to measure its performance in photo, video, and zoom quality from an end-user perspective. This article breaks down how the device fared in a variety of tests and several common use cases and is intended to highlight the most important results of our testing with an extract of the captured data. The Motorola Razr Fold delivered a well-rounded performance for a foldable device in the DXOMARK Camera tests. The optically stabilized 50MP primary camera and the 50MP ultra-wide both offer reliable exposure, nice colors and good detail in everyday use, outperforming folding competitors, such as the Honor Magic V5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, in the camera department.

Motorola Razr Fold hands-on review: In need of a good sharpening
Quelle: Expert Reviews Englisch EN→DE
As a long-time fan of Motorola’s clamshell output, it pains me to say that my first impression of the brand’s inaugural full-size foldable is… fine? There are some elements that I like, and some that I’m willing to be lenient on due to this being the first-generation model, but that price point is a bold statement and I’m just not sure that the specs can back it up. In particular, that IP49 dust and water resistance rating feels lacking. As it stands, I think the Motorola Razr Fold has a chance to surpass the Pixel Fold as the bronze medal, but neither Samsung nor Honor should be particularly concerned about this late-in-the-game arrival usurping their spot. I’ll be getting my hands on the Motorola Razr Fold closer to its April release date, so keep an eye out to see my final verdict soon.

Motorola Razr Fold hands-on: Moto promises the best cameras on any foldable
Quelle: The Shortcut Englisch EN→DE
Motorola invited The Shortcut to a meeting in Barcelona at MWC to check out the new Moto Razr Fold, and I have to admit, it did more than just impress me with its potential. The new device, Motorola’s first book-style folding smartphone, was teased back at CES in January. Now, we’ve had a chance to go hands-on and spend time with it, and it could be the next phone you put in your pocket if Motorola can live up to its claims. See, not only does the Motorola Razr Fold have a premium design, high-end specs, and support for stylus input (whereas Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 does not), it also has some of the best cameras in any smartphone, at least according to Motorola. That’s a big claim for any smartphone maker, especially Motorola, whose reputation isn’t entirely positive when it comes to smartphone cameras.

Motorola competes against Samsung and Google with new Razr Fold
Quelle: Mobile Syrup Englisch EN→DE
However, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the Razr Fold, such as its battery capacity, how much RAM it has, its processor and more. Additionally, it’s going to be interesting to see if Motorola can carve out a path into the book-style foldable market. Globally, the company already has a lot of competition. In North America, Motorola might have the best chance, but it’ll have to offer something great if it’s going to compete against the likes of Google, with a fully IP68-rated foldable and Samsung, which showed off a creaseless foldable at CES 2026. And with reports that Apple is also working on a foldable this year, hopefully, the Razr Fold will offer an experience that allows it to stand out.
