Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra

EN→DESo, coming back to the question I asked right at the beginning of this review: do we really need a premium laptop with hardware this powerful? After spending a considerable amount of time with the Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Ultra, my answer is very simple: yes, we absolutely do. This laptop is simply for anyone who wants everything in one machine. It looks premium, feels premium, has one of the best displays I have used on a laptop, sounds fantastic, performs brilliantly, games surprisingly well, and still manages to deliver genuinely good battery life. Add Samsung’s ecosystem features on top of all this, and the experience starts feeling far more complete than what I usually expect from a Windows machine. Sure, there are still things that macOS does better. Trackpad gestures are more refined, some quality of life features are still missing on Windows 11, and Apple’s ARM-based chips still hold the crown when it comes to sheer battery efficiency.

EN→DELast year, I said the Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro was good when it needed to be great, and it feels like Samsung has largely met that challenge with its 2026 lineup. The Galaxy Book 6 Ultra didn’t change the basic recipe for success, but it spiced things up with dramatic performance improvements, upgraded speakers, the new anti-reflective display coating, a full-size SD card slot, and longer battery life. The areas left for improvement are minimal, with increased key travel as my only complaint that I think would be universally appreciated by users. Pricing is the biggest hurdle for would-be buyers, and that’s largely out of Samsung’s hands, although we have seen positive signs that the RAM crisis is correcting. If that leads to some of the discounts we used to see on Samsung laptops, the great Galaxy Book 6 Ultra could be a great buy.

EN→DESamsung tailored the Galaxy Book6 Ultra for a certain subset of professional power users, and for those shoppers, it excels. This laptop is a leading MacBook Pro-style alternative among premium Windows systems, with a high-end build, a broad feature set, and a potent silicon arrangement. However, higher-end (but comparably priced) MacBook Pro configurations will outpace the Book6 Ultra, as will Windows machines with more thermal headroom for CPU and GPU muscle. Still, Samsung’s top-tier laptop delivers respectable power. While the steep price will understandably scare off many shoppers, this is the going rate for premium machines aimed at creative pros. If this combination of performance and portability appeals to you, you’ll enjoy the Book6 Ultra, while more general users or demanding creative pros should consider the award-winning Framework Laptop 16 or Asus ProArt P16, respectively.

EN→DEIf you want a laptop that’s equally at home doing serious creative work, playing demanding games or feeding an all-day Netflix binge away from a power supply, the Galaxy Book6 Ultra has few competitors. The strong performance, especially when it comes to graphics and gaming, long battery life, powerful sound system and high-quality OLED display make the Ultra a true master of all tasks. But, and it’s a big but, given the cost, it only makes sense if you really do need a machine that can do all those things well. For hardcore creatives, the new M5 Pro MacBook Pro is a better recommendation. For those just wanting raw graphics performance, the Acer Nitro 16S AI is the pick of the bunch, while for those just wanting a high-end portable 16in laptop, the Asus Zenbook A16 is cheaper and lighter.

EN→DEThe Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra is a premium laptop that combines stunning design, an exceptional AMOLED display, and strong performance, making it ideal for content creators and professionals needing GPU power in a portable package. While it lacks a 360-degree hinge and has minor issues like fan noise and port clustering, its RTX 5070 offers impressive creative capabilities and light gaming without compromising on slimness or battery life. With Windows 11 Pro and enhanced Galaxy integration, it’s a top choice for those who prioritize visuals and efficiency in a luxury laptop. Highly recommended for those who can afford it.

EN→DESo, the big question: should you actually spend this kind of money on it? The RTX 5070 variant of the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra comes in at a hefty Rs 3,10,990, firmly planting it in ultra-premium territory. If you're a casual user or someone chasing max FPS per rupee, this isn't your machine. But if you're a creator, a heavy-duty multitasker, or someone who wants serious GPU muscle without lugging around a bulky gaming rig, this thing absolutely delivers. Between the gorgeous AMOLED touchscreen, the polished design, and Samsung's surprisingly tight ecosystem, it walks that fine line between boardroom elegance and creative powerhouse really well. That said, there's a smarter way to look at it. If hardcore gaming isn't your priority, the Core Ultra X7 358H variant makes a lot of sense. It's lighter, far more affordable at just Rs. 2,42,990, and still carries the same premium DNA, while offering enough graphical grunt for casual gaming at 1080p. Sure, you could also consider alternatives like the 16-inch Dell XPS 16 or the Apple MacBook Pro 16, but Samsung's feature set and overall balance give it a unique edge. It's not cheap, but it doesn't feel overpriced either. It just feels like a well-built, no-compromise machine for people who want a bit of everything done right.

EN→DEAfter spending some time with the Galaxy Book6 Ultra, one thing becomes very clear: it’s not trying to be everything at once. Instead, it focuses on getting the fundamentals right and then layering meaningful features on top. It looks premium, feels fast, handles demanding tasks with ease, and brings in a genuinely useful ecosystem experience. Add to that a stunning display and surprisingly capable thermal management, and you’ve got a laptop that feels well-rounded in a way that most devices in this space don’t. Of course, there’s more to explore. I still have to test out its battery life, sustained performance, and long-term usage to be able to tell the full story. But as a first impression, this is easily one of the most interesting Windows laptops to come out in a while. And if this is just the beginning, the full review is going to be very, very interesting.

EN→DEThe Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Ultra is a fantastic pro-grade Windows laptop with immense battery life, a lovely OLED screen and a hefty industrial feel, complete with a snappy keyboard, huge trackpad and solid port selection. I am left a little underwhelmed by its performance, though, not least with the very hefty price tag that’s attached to this laptop. For similar money, you can get a very tricked-out Apple MacBook Pro that’s likely to have a faster processor (although it may skimp out on graphical power) or the Asus ProArt P16 (4K Lumina Pro OLED) that has more graphical grunt and a richer, more detailed tandem OLED panel, although at the expense of half the battery life.

EN→DEI've been a fan of Samsung's laptops for years, starting with a 12-inch model we owned in the early 2010's. The Galaxy Book 6 Pro is my favorite of the two models I've been swapping between, partly because Panther Lake is so good that I never once thought I needed the Nvidia dGPU in the Book 6 Ultra.

EN→DEThe Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra is a gorgeously designed thin and light laptop with a stunning screen and some of the most powerful components you can buy right now. If you own other Samsung devices, you'll love how the Galaxy Book6 Ultra can interact with them. However, it's very expensive, and won't be the best laptop for everyone.

EN→DEThe Galaxy Book6 Ultra is one incredible laptop. The starting price is high, but whereas others might start lower, they quickly get expensive when you add the type of options that the Ultra includes. The Pro variant also starts at a far more palatable price and if you find the Ultra is reaching heights you can’t reach then that really is the Book6 for you. I guess weight is also a consideration if you are travelling a lot. And of course there is no 14in variant. But if money is really no object and you don’t mind the weight of this 16 incher, then you won’t be disappointed in any way with what the Ultra can offer you. It’s one of the best do-anything laptops we’ve ever seen and it’ll set you in good stead for the future.

EN→DEThe Galaxy Book 6 Pro and Ultra feel like solid refinements rather than flashy reinventions. The biggest wins for me are the improved audio, excellent haptics that finally rival premium competitors, the brighter display, and better cooling. The trade-offs are clear, too. There’s still no right-side USB-C, which remains mildly annoying, and the numpad removal will split opinions.
