The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro ticks all the boxes for a high-end laptop. Like many of the brand’s products, its design oozes quality, and its super-thin profile is truly remarkable. Portability has been improved, although the considerable weight of the 16-inch model I tested marred this aspect somewhat. Performance is great, with even its graphical capabilities surprising me, given the integrated graphics. However, the star of the show is the wide 3K AMOLED display, which is as spectacular as you might imagine. Heavy keys and a lack of ports are a drawback, and the Book6 Pro isn't exactly cheap — but it's a fierce contender in the premium space, nonetheless.

There is no doubt that the Galaxy Book6 Pro is a top-quality laptop. It has a wonderful display, decent performance, impressive battery life and even a modicum of serious gaming capability, courtesy of that 12-core Intel Arc B390 integrated GPU. And it’s a lovely thing, too, carved out of a solid block of aluminium – all shark-like lines and stark minimalism. There are some issues. By 2025 standards, the Galaxy Book6 Pro 16 is expensive. Our laptop of the year last year – the Honor MagicBook Pro 14 is currently £999 and delivers performance that’s not a million miles away, while the recently reviewed Acer Nitro 16S Ai costs £400 less and delivers considerably better gaming performance. But neither can quite match the all-round appeal of the Galaxy Book6 Pro and, for those seeking a serious Windows-based alternative to the MacBook Pro 16, it’s the best we have right now, with a beautiful all-round build, impressive performance and great battery life.

Nonetheless, this is a capable laptop with beefier performance than last year’s Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro, stronger battery life than the LG Gram 16 Pro, and nearly as much style as the Asus Zenbook S 16 (2024), and it’s excellent. Das Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Ultra (getestete Modellvariante NP960UJH-XG4DE) ist ein echter Top-Laptop und bietet in jeder Hinsicht Top-Leistung: Es ist sehr schnell, auch bei Spielen, im Normalbetrieb superleise und sehr ausdauernd. Dazu kommt ein Top-Display mit OLED-Technik. Das Ganze verpackt in einem schicken und soliden Gehäuse. Der Preis dafür ist aber echt deftig – ähnlich ausgestattete Konkurrenzmodelle sind oft deutlich günstiger. Ein Tipp für alle, die mit ihrem Laptop "nur" arbeiten wollen. Ohne den schnellen Nvidia-Grafikchip ist das Galaxy Book 6 Ultra viel, viel günstiger – bei ansonsten nahezu gleicher Ausstattung.

The Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Ultra is a fantastic pro-grade Windows laptop with immense battery life, a lovely OLED screen and a hefty industrial feel, complete with a snappy keyboard, huge trackpad and solid port selection. I am left a little underwhelmed by its performance, though, not least with the very hefty price tag that’s attached to this laptop. For similar money, you can get a very tricked-out Apple MacBook Pro that’s likely to have a faster processor (although it may skimp out on graphical power) or the Asus ProArt P16 (4K Lumina Pro OLED) that has more graphical grunt and a richer, more detailed tandem OLED panel, although at the expense of half the battery life.

The Galaxy Book6 Ultra is one incredible laptop. The starting price is high, but whereas others might start lower, they quickly get expensive when you add the type of options that the Ultra includes. The Pro variant also starts at a far more palatable price and if you find the Ultra is reaching heights you can’t reach then that really is the Book6 for you. I guess weight is also a consideration if you are travelling a lot. And of course there is no 14in variant. But if money is really no object and you don’t mind the weight of this 16 incher, then you won’t be disappointed in any way with what the Ultra can offer you. It’s one of the best do-anything laptops we’ve ever seen and it’ll set you in good stead for the future.

Samsung: Die Samsung Group ist der größte südkoreanische Mischkonzern und wurde 1938 gegründet. In der Samsung-Gruppe waren 2014 489.000 Menschen beschäftigt, und sie gehört zu den weltweit größten Unternehmen gemessen an Umsatz und Marktstärke. Der Name Samsung bedeutet im Koreanischen "Drei Sterne" und repräsentiert die drei Söhne des Firmengründers. Das Unternehmen wurde 1938 als Lebensmittelladen gegründet. Mit der 1969 gegründeten Tochter Samsung Electronics nahm Samsung die Fertigung elektrotechnischer Artikel in Angriff, wobei man sich frühzeitig auf Unterhaltungselektronik und Haushaltsgeräte konzentrierte. Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

Intel Intel Graphics 4 Xe3: Die Intel Graphics 4 Xe3 ist eine integrierte Grafikkarte in Panther Lake SoCs mit 4 Xe3 Kernen (32 EUs / 512 ALUs), 4 Raytracing Kernen und einer Taktung von bis zu 2450 MHz.

Diese Grafikkarten sollten alle modernen Spiele flüssig darstellen können. Anspruchsvolle Spiele müssen jedoch in mittlerer Detailstufe gespielt werden. Ältere und weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele wie die Sims Serie können auch in hohen Detailsstufen flüssig dargestellt werden.

Intel Arc B390 Panther Lake iGPU: Stärkste iGPU in der Intel Panther Lake SoC Serie mit 12 Xe3 Kernen.

High-End Grafikkarten welche auch neueste und anspruchsvolle 3D-Spiele in hohen Auflösungen und Detailstufen flüssig wiedergeben können. Durch den hohen Stromverbrauch, werden diese GPUs nur in großen und schweren Notebooks mit geringen Akkulaufzeiten angeboten.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop: Eine kommende Grafikkarte der Blackwell-Familie für Laptops, die Team Green sehr wahrscheinlich auf der CES 2025 vorstellen wird. Wenn man bedenkt, dass der 4070 Laptop über 4.608 Unified Shader (CUDA Kerne) verfügt, wird die 5070 höchstwahrscheinlich weit über 5.000 Shader haben.
