Wenn ihr wirklich auf der Suche nach einem großen Smartphone seid und Leistung für euch an erster Stelle steht, dann ist das Poco X8 Pro Max definitiv eine Überlegung wert. Aber die meisten von euch sollten sich den doch hohen Aufpreis eher sparen, denn auch das X8 Pro ohne Max ist bereits ein echter Dauerläufer und bietet bei der Leistung genügend Reserven für die nächsten Jahre. Im Vergleich zu anderen „Flagship-Killern“ auf dem Markt sticht das Poco X8 Pro Max mit einer etwas längeren Laufzeit, brachialer Performance, eSIM und dem exzellenten Fingerabdruckscanner hervor. Das Gerät ist mit seinem 6,8-Zoll-Display jedoch schon gewaltig, und dass beim Max gar nicht auf eine bessere Kamera gesetzt wird, finde ich etwas schade. Das macht die Poco F8-Serie definitiv empfehlenswerter, um beim Hersteller zu bleiben. Die X- und F-Serie von Poco sind der stärksten Konkurrenz in Form der Samsung Galaxy A-Serie mittlerweile so weit davongelaufen, dass eine Erwähnung an dieser Stelle einfach verstörend wirkt. Egal, in welchen Vergleich ihr ein Samsung Galaxy A-Gerät einbindet: Jedes Poco der X- oder F-Serie macht komplett Kleinholz aus dem Modell. Aber auch das X8 Pro Max ist nicht das perfekte Smartphone, wenn es so etwas denn jemals geben sollte. Es lässt einige der von uns genannten Kritikpunkte verschwinden, aber das doch nur durchschnittliche Kamerasetup hat in diesem Preisbereich eigentlich nichts mehr verloren. Gleiches gilt für den bekannten Fokus-Bug und auch das “Sometimes-on-Display”, also das fehlende echte AOD. Für Gamer gibt es von mir eine glasklare Kaufempfehlung für das Pro Max Modell, ansonsten solltet ihr zum fairen Preis lieber zum normalen X8 Pro Modell greifen.

Weiter überzeugt das Poco mit einem 6,8 Zoll großen OLED-Display, das im Labor mit hoher Schärfe, flüssiger Darstellung und starker Helligkeit punktet. Der MediaTek Dimensity 9500s liefert zwar keine Spitzenleistung, reicht für den Alltag jedoch völlig aus. Bei der Kamera fehlt eine Telelinse, dafür schießt die Dual-Kamera mit ihrer 50-Megapixel-Hauptkamera schöne Fotos mit hoher Detailtreue. Auch die Frontkamera erfüllt ihren Zweck gut. Zur weiteren Ausstattung zählen ein Ultraschall-Fingerabdrucksensor, eSIM, moderne Funkstandards sowie ein Wasserschutz nach IP68. Die Verarbeitung wirkt hochwertig und das Gerät liegt angenehm in der Hand.

The price is definitely higher, but I do think the Xiaomi 15T Pro is worth the price premium if you need better cameras. I truly love the performance of the POCO X8 Pro Max. For the price, it’s really a no-brainer even though when there are definitely some shortcomings here and there to make the price possible.

But if POCO is able to keep the prices low for the POCO X8 Series just like what they did with the F8 Series, then it’s gonna be easily one of this year’s most compelling options. Period.
