Mein Fazit zu dem Dell XPS 13 ist das es neben dem Asus UX21 und UX31 das schönste Ultrabook auf dem Markt ist, wenn auch VGA, HDMI oder Thunderbolt Anschluss schön wären. Nur zwei USB, Kopfhörer und ein MiniDisplayport, auch ohne Kartenleser sind etwas wenig, aber dem schönen Design zu verschmerzen.

Nach so vielen Seiten ist es nun sicherlich kein einfaches Unterfangen, zu einem abschließenden Fazit zu kommen. Kurz gefasst kann gesagt werden, dass alle drei Testkandidaten ihre Berechtigung haben. Samsung bedient das Budget-Segment, muss sich den niedrigen Preis aber mit Abstrichen bei der Gehäuse-Qualität und dem Storage-System erkaufen.

You’re not stuck with different aspects of a design you may or may not appreciate. The XPS 13 is a class act from Dell, and if you ignore the rather liberal inspiration from the MacBook Air, then the aluminum chassis with carbon fiber composite base presents an aesthetically pleasing design. The light weight and 18mm – 6mm thickness is something that makes for an ideal ultrabook. Also, starting at $300 cheaper than a similarly specced MacBook Air, you can’t go wrong with the XPS 13 at all.

We loved the smaller form factor and the soft-touch wrist pad and, while it wasn't all that impressive, the carbon fiber base plate did at least prove to be equal, if not slightly better, than aluminum as a build material.

Intel HD Graphics 3000: In Sandy Bridge Prozessoren (Core ix-2xxx) integrierte Grafikkarte von Intel. Stärkere GT2 genannte Version mit 12 Execution Units (EUs). Je nach Modell mit unterschiedlichen Taktraten (350-650MHz) und TurboBoost Unterstützung (900-1350MHz).

Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.

2467M: Stromspar-Doppelkernprozessor mit nur 1.6 GHz Basisfrequenz aber einem Turbo bis zu 2.3 GHz (bei ausreichender Kühlung). 13.3": 13 Zoll ist ein häufiges, jedenfalls aber das grösste Displayformat für Subnotebooks. Der Vorteil von Subnotebooks liegt darin, dass das Notebook klein dimensioniert sein kann und daher leicht tragbar ist. Das verhältnismäßig kleine Display hat noch den Vorteil wenig Strom zu benötigen, was die Akkulaufzeit und damit die Mobilität weiter verbessert. Der Nachteil ist, dass das Lesen von Texten ein wenig anstrengend für die Augen ist. Sehr hohe Auflösungen sind nur bedingt nutzbar. Nicht fehlsichtige Menschen sollten mit dieser Displaygröße aber zurechtkommen können.

80.55%: Diese Bewertung muss man eigentlich als durchschnittlich ansehen, denn es gibt etwa ebenso viele Notebooks mit besseren Beurteilungen wie Schlechteren. Die Verbalbeurteilungen klingen aber oft besser als sie wirklich sind, denn richtig gelästert wird über Notebooks eher selten. Obwohl dieser Bereich offiziell meist einem "Befriedigen" entspricht, passt oft eher "mäßiger Durchschnitt".
