It’s been a very long time since I’ve used a BlackBerry. I think the last one I used for any period of time was the BlackBerry 8700C. So reading several other reviews will certainly help give you a more rounded idea about what to expect with the KEY2 LE. I don’t hate the phone, but I didn’t find the physical keyboard experience as good as I thought it would have been. This may be entirely different for you and you might actually love it. The best I can say is, buy it and try it. Or maybe find someone with a KEY2 or KEY2 LE and give it a go for a few minutes just to get an idea. It’s a fine mid-range device, but it’s my opinion that physical keyboards are just not for everyone anymore.

The LE is suited for those that want a KEY2 but not pay the $649.99 price tag so of course you are compromising with a lower processor that can affect performance, no capacitive keyboard and significant change in build quality. On the plus side you the phone does feel lighter and easier to grip and I like typing on the LE keyboard more even with its omissions. Also, what will gear a decent amount of folks to the LE over the KEY2 is its inclusion of Verizon phone services. Its been wanted for awhile now and Big Red has flipped the switch for this device. That and the $200 price difference making it $449.99 doesn’t hurt either.

Modell: Das Blackberry Key2 LE ist ein Smartphone mit einer vollständigen physischen QWERTY-Tastatur, was heutzutage sehr selten und einzigartig am Markt ist. Es handelt sich um eine billigere Variante des Key2, die dünner und leichter ist. Das Design des Key2 LE ist verglichen mit etablierten Smartphone-Marken unkonventionell. Mit seiner Atomic Red Farbvariante und roten Bünden auf der Tastatur sticht es jedenfalls hervor. Es ist von Blackberry auch mutig etwas Stil und Abwechslung in ihre Produktlinie zu bringen. Die Farboption Slate wird also bei Business-Usern auch beliebt sein, denn BlackBerry ist für das Herstellen von business-orientierten Geräten mit ausgereiftem Design bekannt. In puncto Software ist das Key2 LE ein vollwertiges Android-Phone. Zwar nutzt es nicht das Closed-Source-Betriebssystem Blackberry 10 des Herstellers, doch es bietet Google Play Store und BlackBerry-spezifische Anwendungen wie BBM. Das Key2 LE wird mit Oreo 8.1 ausgeliefert. Pie 9.0 wird mit dem nächsten Update verfügbar sein. Das Key2 LE wird von einem Snapdragon 636 SoC angetrieben, welcher über vier starke Kryo Gold Cores und vier schwache Kryo Silver Cores verfügt. Es ist mit 4 GB DRAM sowie wahlweise 32 oder 64 GB Speicher ausgestattet. Via MicroSD-Kartenslot kann die Speicherkapazität erweitert werden.

Der verbaute 4,5 Zoll große Bildschirm bietet ein Seitenverhältnis von 3:2 und eine Auflösung von 1.080 x 1.620 Pixeln. Der kleinere Bildschirm ergibt sich, weil die Tastatur einen Teil des Platzes einnimmt. Trotzdem beträgt die Pixeldichte 432 PPI und ist damit höher als bei vielen aktuellen Smartphones am Markt. Dank hoher Pixeldichte kann alles knackig und klar dargestellt werden, ohne dass einzelne Pixel erkennbar wären. Die Kamera ist mit einem 13 MP f/2.2 Weitwinkel-Sensor und einem 5 MP f/2.4 Telephoto-Sensor für Zoom ziemlich durchschnittlich. Bei der Frontkamera handelt es sich dagegen um ein 8-MP-Modell mit Fixfokus. Zwar ist das keine herausragende Kamera-Spezifikation, doch sie kann ihre Aufgabe erfüllen. Das Key2 LE ist mit einem 3.000-mAh-Akku mit Quick Charge 3.0 ausgestattet. Weitere Schnittstellen sind eine 3,5 mm Audiobuchse und ein USB-Type-C-Port. Blackberry bietet ein Mittelklasse-Smartphone mit einem einzigartigen und außergewöhnlichen Design. Man kann die Notwendigkeit einer physischen Tastatur im Jahre 2018 in Frage stellen. Die Bildschirm-Tastatur ist fast perfekt und integriert viel Arten von Emoticons und Animationseinstellungen. Für jene, die weiterhin eine physische Tastatur bevorzugen, oder User, die Blackberry probieren wollen, ist es eine großartige Wahl bei niedrigerem Budget.

Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen.  Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.

SD 636: Mittelklasse SoC mit 8 Kryo 260 Kernen (bis 1,8 GHz) und einem X12 LTE Modem (bis zu 600 Mbps Download). Dieses Display ist winzig. Man wird wohl sehr wenig am Bildschirm sehen und Mini-Auflösungen nutzen können.

Auch wenn Verbalbewertungen in diesem Bereich gar nicht so schlecht klingen ("genügend" oder "befriedigend"), meist sind es Euphemismen, die eine Klassifikation als unterdurchschnittliches Notebook verschleiern.
