The MSI Prestige A16 AI+ is, you guessed it, a dedicated AI laptop. It excels at delivering increased productivity when doing word processing, photo editing, and some 3D modelling, but as soon as I tried to do anything seriously demanding, I wished I had a laptop with a discrete GPU. Aside from performance, this is a good-looking laptop that boasts a bright and vibrant IPS display.

For its price, the Prestige A16 AI+ represents very good value, delivering a well-made package with impressive performance, long battery life, a comprehensive keyboard and a bright, colourful IPS display. Given that MSI seems to have been so careful to tick all the boxes that a demanding business user wants to see ticked, it's surprising that it didn't feel the need to fit a second SSD mount or to install a rather better sound system. Of course, unless you plan on storing masses of data on your laptop or using it to listen to Wagner, both those failings may pass you by unmarked.

MSI: Micro-Star International (MSI) wurde 1986 in Taiwan gegründet. MSI ist besonders als Hersteller von Hauptplatinen und Grafikkarten für PCs bekannt, bietet darüber hinaus Computerzubehör, Komplettsysteme, Motherboards, Grafikkarten, Laptops, Desktop-PCs, Monitore und andere Komponenten an. Der Markenname Microstar gehört in Deutschland allerdings der Firma Medion. MSI ist bekannt für seine Gaming-Produkte und hat eine breite Palette von Gaming-Laptops und Desktop-PCs entwickelt. Das Unternehmen ist auch in den Bereichen Workstations, Server und industrielle Automatisierung tätig. MSI hat Niederlassungen in Nordamerika, Europa, Asien und Australien.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

Ryzen AI 9 HX 370: Der Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 ist ein schneller Strix Point prozessor für Notebooks welcher in 2024 vorgestellt wurde.
