Das Gehäuse besteht aus Magnesium, ist jedoch mit 8,3 Millimetern etwa im Vergleich zum aktuellen iPad recht dick. Der Klappständer auf der Rückseite ist aus Metall gefertigt und lässt sich sehr weit zurückklappen.

Gut, das war mein Microsoft Surface Go Test. Kann ich das Tablet empfehlen? Tatsächlich finde ich das Surface Go richtig gut. Die Verarbeitung ist ausgezeichnet, das Display und die Performance sind gut genug und auch das Type Cover ist großartig. Der Surface Pen funktioniert ebenfalls richtig gut.

Wer viel unterwegs ist, für den kann sich die Anschaffung lohnen. Mit seiner kompakten Größe und dem geringen Gewicht trägt das Gerät in der Tasche gewichtsmäßig nicht größer auf. Als mobiler Begleiter dürfte jedoch die Akkulaufzeit etwas besser sein und performancemäßig kann man mit dem Tablet keine Bäume ausreißen. Display und Tastatur hingegen machen einen sehr guten Job.

Ich habe das Surface Go jetzt schon 3 Tage bei mir uns habe es täglich genutzt. Der erste Eindruck ist gut. Ich war beim 10 Zoll Bildschirm sehr skeptisch. Aber aufgrund des 3:2 Formfaktors wirkt er nicht so klein. Inhalte passen gut ins Fenster. Beim Surface 3 oder damals dem RT war das noch ganz anders.

Als Tablet kann das Surface Go das iPad nicht überflügeln, das überraschenderweise für ein Apple-Produkt auch beim Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis vorne liegt. At the end of the day, Surface Go is worth the money. If you’re looking for a solid first tablet or computer or introduction to Surface, then this model of the Surface Go is the way to go. It performs just as good as a Surface Pro, but with the limits and security of S Mode and the benefits of USB C. The design and build are both excellent, and inking is just so natural. The keyboard and type cover might be extra costs, and initially uncomfortable, but it adds up in the long run for multi-tasking and getting work done. Surface Go is well worth the money, and I hope that you think so too.

Modell: Erinnern Sie sich an das Zeitalter der Windows-Tablets. Ich auch nicht und das hat einen Grund. Doch dazu später.

Das Surface Go ist im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes eine kleinere Version des Surface Pro. Die Größe, die Hardware etc. sind kleiner. Doch am ärgerlichsten ist, dass alles Zubehör extra verkauft wird und das ist nicht gerade billig. Ist da alles? Nein. Lassen Sie mich eine Frage stellen: Warum nutzen Sie Windows? Wegen der Produktivität, nicht wahr? Ich meine, Sie sind im Büro, benutzen Excel, Power Point und brauchen andere Software zum Erledigen von Dingen. Doch mit diesem Gerät ist das vorwiegend nicht möglich. Es ist nämlich kein Kraftwerk. Beschränktes RAM, beschränkte Rechenleistung, beschränkte GPU – die Liste könnte man fortsetzen. Ich werfe nun die Frage auf, wofür Sie ein Windows-Tablet brauchen könnten. Leider weiß ich keine Antwort.

Ok, Ich akzeptiere die Tatsache, dass es sich um ein Tablet mit Windows handelt. Das ist absolut ok. Wenn ich ein Gerät jedoch hauptsächlich für Videos und Internet-Surfen nutzen möchte, warum sollte ich dann dieses kaufen? Es gibt iPads und Android-Tablets, die ein Ökosystem mit einer Fülle an installierbaren Apps bieten, die fast alle für die Geräte, auf denen sie laufen, gut optimiert sind. Warum sollte man also eine abgespeckte Windows-Version wählen? Vor allem ähneln sich die Preise stark.

Natürlich liegt die Entscheidung, was er gerne möchte, beim Käufer. Ich will hier jedoch vernünftig sein. Nur zum Video schauen und Surfen würde ich ein Android-Tablet wählen, weil diese billig sind. Mit dem gesparten Geld, kann ich mir nächstes Jahr ein neues Gerät kaufen. Will ich das Gerät viele Jahre nutzen, würde ich etwas mehr investieren und wegen seines besseren Bildschirm sowie der verfügbaren Apps und, was am wichtigsten ist, vieler Jahre Nutzung ein iPad kaufen. Leider finde ich gar keinen guten Grund, ein Windows-Tablet zu kaufen. Der Hauptgrund ist, dass Microsoft zu spät dran ist. Sie haben mit dem Surface-Book gute Arbeit geleistet und ein mobiles und benutzerfreundliches Windows-Gerät angeboten. Doch bei Tablets fehlt es dem Windows-Ökosystsem einfach an Stärke und es wird noch dauern, bis sie die Konkurrenz einholen. Sobald die Plattform ausgereift ist, kann ein Einsatz als Tablet in Betracht gezogen werden.

Meine Lieblingsfrage: Würde ich meiner Mutter dieses Gerät kaufen? Nein. Meiner Mutter würde ich definitiv ein Android-Gerät oder vielleicht ein iPad kaufen. Ich denke, dass ein iPad die bessere Wahl ist, denn damit kann sie keine Viren oder ähnliches bekommen und das würde mir weniger Kopfzerbrechen bereiten.

Sind Sie ein Windows-Fan, sollten Sie das Tablet sicherlich kaufen. Doch wenn Sie eine bessere Spezifikation und ein besseres Ökosystem suchen, sollten Sie zuerst Android-Geräte und dann iPads in Betracht ziehen. Danach bilden Sie sich eine Meinung.
