Die Stereo­laut­spre­cher machen ebenso eine gute Figur, wie der Akku, der in unserem Test ein gutes Durch­hal­tever­mögen zeigte und mit 65 Watt wieder aufge­laden werden kann. Leider kann der interne Spei­cher des 5G-Handys nicht erwei­tert werden. Das Kamera-Modul auf der Rück­seite ist aufgrund der Verschmel­zung mit dem Gehäuse zwar schick anzu­sehen. Die Kame­raleis­tung bei schlechten Licht­ver­hält­nissen (im Labor) könnte aber besser sein.

Noch schneller gehts am Kabel: mit 65 Watt ist der 4500 mAh Akku in 38 Minuten voll. Auch sonst ist alles dabei: Wasserdichtes Gehäuse, 5G und WiFi 6, Fingerabdruckscanner und dem Screen oder zwei SIM-Karten-Slots plus E-Sim.

The phone has been on sale for €100 to €200 cheaper on the likes of Amazon, but it’s still evidently priced as a premium flagship. The main thing I’m left wondering about is the price-tag. As good as this phone is, I think £1099 is a lot to ask of UK buyers, particularly when Oppo doesn’t have the same brand recognition as Samsung on these shores. The S21 Ultra, for instance, is similarly specced-out and is also very similarly priced on Amazon right now. Oppo has clearly tried to give itself a differentiating factor with its microlens camera, but personally I wouldn’t see it swaying me one way or the other. It’s a really cool feature for sure, but at the end of the day the novelty does wear off and you find yourself using it less and less. At least, that was the case for me. Regardless, Oppo has made a highly impressive flagship with the Find X3 Pro and I think the company will have a lot to say in the flagship Android smartphone conversation going forward. Ultimately I think the high price may just prevent this phone getting into as many pockets as it might otherwise have, but it’s still an excellent choice that does little wrong.

As a recording device, the Oppo Find X3 Pro fares much better, comparing well with other ultra-premium devices and with its brand forerunner. It produced good tonal balance overall, good dynamics, and also did well in the spatial attribute, with good wideness in life video and the meeting use case. The loudness in life video was also a strong point. In both video apps, overall sound is slightly muffled with a lack of treble and prominent low midrange. In many use cases, dynamics were impacted by some strange compression behavior, especially in the high SPL scenario.

The Oppo Find X3 Pro is yet another high-priced tour-de-force and a further example that there’s absolutely no need to stick with the mainstream to get your flagship fix. If you’re willing to take a step off the well-trodden path, you’ll be rewarded with the very best Android can muster, bar none. Of course, it isn’t an entirely faultless handset. In my view, Oppo would have done well to undercut the starting price of the iPhone 12 Pro, at least by a tiny bit, in order to boost the appeal of the Find X3 Pro. More attention should have been paid to battery life, too, rather than simply relying on fast charging speeds. But if you’ve got the money, and you aren’t spending long trips away from the wall socket, then the Oppo Find X3 Pro is still a mighty fine flagship indeed.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert.
