Das Sony Vaio T überzeugt im Test durch die edle und frische Optik genauso wie durch gute Alltagsqualitäten. Auch der austauschbare Akku und die gut erreichbaren Komponenten sammeln Pluspunkte. Nicht so gut gefallen haben uns im Test der leicht instabile Displaydeckel, die angesprochenen Tastaturbereiche sowie die Bildqualität.

The Sony Vaio T13 is a budget ultrabook, but an overall nice, solid and fast machine. It does have its downsides of course, as corners are cut in order to meet the low price, although I don't find any of them true deal-breakers.

Will the company successfully mobilise the wealth of expertise it has acquired from previous models, such as the Z series, to outperform the competition while adhering to Intel's standards of computing power, thinness and battery life? In terms of both design and price, the Sony Vaio T13 is closer to the Aspire S3 than the Zenbook Prime UX31A or MacBook Air. Despite a few shortcomings, the T13 is good value for your money, as long as you stick with the less expensive options.

Still, for around £300 less than its fancier peers this a usable Ultrabook, and even with an Ivy Bridge upgrade the price is lower than the competition. Screen quality remains disappointing, as it is with all the other low-end Ultrabooks, but if you’re craving a thin-and-light laptop on the cheap, the Sony VAIO T13 is the best of the current crop.

On the one-hand it is a beautiful piece of technology with an attractive price-point, while on the other it has limited power and disappoints on a few levels. The response time from sleep is great and for everyday usage you probably won’t notice the lack of power, or encounter any major performance issues.

Intel HD Graphics 3000: In Sandy Bridge Prozessoren (Core ix-2xxx) integrierte Grafikkarte von Intel. Stärkere GT2 genannte Version mit 12 Execution Units (EUs). Je nach Modell mit unterschiedlichen Taktraten (350-650MHz) und TurboBoost Unterstützung (900-1350MHz).

Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.

13.3": 13 Zoll ist ein häufiges, jedenfalls aber das grösste Displayformat für Subnotebooks. Der Vorteil von Subnotebooks liegt darin, dass das Notebook klein dimensioniert sein kann und daher leicht tragbar ist. Das verhältnismäßig kleine Display hat noch den Vorteil wenig Strom zu benötigen, was die Akkulaufzeit und damit die Mobilität weiter verbessert. Der Nachteil ist, dass das Lesen von Texten ein wenig anstrengend für die Augen ist. Sehr hohe Auflösungen sind nur bedingt nutzbar. Nicht fehlsichtige Menschen sollten mit dieser Displaygröße aber zurechtkommen können.
