The lower end models offer great build quality and good value for the price. The high end $1,449 UHD 4K model with SSD and 16 gigs of RAM used for this review isn't as great a value when you can get more powerful laptops at that price. Still, it has a classy chassis, excellent build quality and serviceable internals, which earn points back.

At the end of the day, if it you’re shopping in this price range, even Dell has better options. The base XPS 15 is only $100 more, and while it’s technically less impressive in some respects, the actual user experience is far superior. The XPS system is more attractive, more portable, and ships with relatively little bloat.

Windows convertibles are in a sorry state. The Dell Inspiron 13 7000 SE 2-in-1 is the sixth model we’ve reviewed so far this year, and like those that’ve come before it, there are some serious flaws. Battery life is not on par with the best thoroughbred laptops and the hardware is a bit too expensive, given what’s received.

Dell made the Inspiron 15 7000 an elegant multimedia notebook. Its sexy design will make you want to show it off, and its stunning and responsive optional 4K touch screen will be the envy of your friends. However, while this system offers solid overall performance, the discrete AMD graphics aren't powerful enough to play the most demanding games, especially at its native resolution.

If a big laptop is on your shopping list, the Inspiron 15 7000 is a contender, but a quirky one. It can take time to get used to its design; the lack of a number pad on the keyboard makes it unlike big laptops we’ve seen from other vendors, and gives the notebook an over-sized feel. The 4K screen is great for viewing photos, but its reflective finish was an annoyance. For navigation, the touchpad wasn’t good to us.

Dell Inspiron 7548 is a great multimedia notebook with a thin, sleek and premium design. Maybe a bit on the heavier side, but quite manageable. The laptop is designed to look great, but it does struggle a bit to keep the internals cool. This may be because of the sufficient grills for dispersing the heat, which are located only at the bottom. Nevertheless, this can be fixed easily with an external cooling pad. But it’s quite unlikely that a normal user would be capable of reproducing such big CPU and GPU loads in real-life conditions, so we can’t say this is a considerable drawback.

Modell: Das Dell Inspiron 15-7548 ist ein Allround-Laptop mit einem schlanken Profil und beeindruckender Hardware. Der schlanke Laptop muss mit der aktuell verfügbaren Technologie keine Kompromisse in puncto Robustheit oder Leistung eingehen. Dell hat das Dell Inspiron 15-7548 solide und, mit abgerundeten Kanten, einem schönen Bildschirmdeckel und einem Farbschema mit zwei Tönen, elegant gestaltet. Das Innere ist dunkelgrau, während die Außenseite eine matte Metall-Oberfläche aufweist. Der 15,6 Zoll große 4K Ultra HD Truelife Bildschirm unterstützt 10-Punkt-Toucheingabe. Die Farben sind genau und die Übersichtlichkeit ist beeindruckend, was man leider von der Helligkeit nicht sagen kann.

Das Windows-8.1-System verfügt über einen Intel Core i7-5500U Prozessor, 16 GB DDR3L RAM, eine AMD Radeon R7 M270 GPU mit 4 GB eigenständigem DDR3 VRAM und eine 256 GB SSD als Speicher. Daher eignet sich das Dell Inspiron 15-7548 gut für gemäßigtes Gaming sowie Arbeit. Mit den Stereo-Lautsprechern die Waves MaxxAudio nutzen, ist die Audio-Qualität beeindruckend. Weitere Features sind eine Webcam, Bluetooth 4.0, zwei USB-3.0-Ports, ein USB-2.0-Port, ein HDMI-Ausgang und ein Kartenleser. Das Dell Inspiron 15-7548 wiegt 2,06 kg und ist mit einem Lithium-Ionen-Akku mit einer Nennkapazität von 58 Wh ausgestattet.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
