Aufgrund der durchschnittlichen Akkulaufzeit von unter 5,5 Stunden und fehlender LTE-Schnittstelle eignet sich das 8,0-Zoll-Tablet nur bedingt für längere Reisen.

Superschnell: Das sündhaft teure Windows-Tablet ist das mit Abstand schnellste Gerät im Test. In nur acht Sekunden war es startklar und es lief auch flüssig, wenn viele Programme geöffnet waren. ... Der Bildschirm zeigt Fotos und Videos in Full HD mit 1920 x 1200 Bildpunkten scharf und mit hohem Kontrast - super! Leider ist das Bild etwas dunkel, und sehr starke Reflexionen stören den Genuss.

Deutliche Abzüge gibt es für die geringe Ausdauer, Vorteile unter anderem für die höhere Auflösung bei Kamera und Full-HD-Display oder die LED zur Unterstützung der Kamera.

Although it does lack the battery time of other devices and we did have a little trouble with the WiFi. Right now you can find the ThinkPad 8 at my favorite online retailer for $449, which makes it a little more expensive than other 8-inch Windows 8 tablets, but with that screen resolution and other features I would say it is worth it. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Lenovo ThinkPad 8 Tablet a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!

Das Lenovo ThinkPad 8 nutzt das Windows 8.1 Betriebssystem, ein Freude für die Einen und eine Qual für andere. Es ist wichtig, zu wissen, zu welcher Gruppe man gehört, bevor man das Tablet in Betracht zieht. Abgesehen davon, ist das Lenovo ThinkPad 8 tatsächlich ein ziemlich großartiges Gerät. Seine Größe ist beachtenswert. Mit 22,35 x 13,21 x 0,89 cm (8,8 x 5,2 x 0,35 Zoll) passt das Gerät perfekt in die Hände und arbeitet ziemlich gut mit dem Tile-System eines Windows-Betriebssystems. Es entspricht der allgemeinen Meinung, dass ein kleinerer Bildschirm ein Windows-Betriebssystem viel besser nutzen kann. Apropos Bildschirm: Das ist mit einem 8,3-Zoll-Bildschirm mit einer Auflösung von 1200 x 1920 Pixeln ausgestattet und bietet eine hohe Pixeldichte von 273 ppi.
Leider ist die Akkulaufzeit des Lenovo ThinkPad 8 unterdurchschnittlich. Laut Lenovo hält das Gerät bis zu 8 Stunden durch, was verglichen mit anderen Tablets ziemlich kurz ist. Wer den Kauf dieses Geräts plant sollte sich den Akkulaufzeit-Aspekt sorgfältig überlegen.
Insgesamt ist das Lenovo ThinkPad 8 ein Gerät, das sich für viele Aufgaben eignet, doch für keine spezialisiert ist. Es ist ein Alleskönner, aber kein Meister für irgendetwas. Potentielle Käufer sollten sich vor dem Kauf gut überlegen, ob sie mit den Nachteilen des Gerätes leben können.

Intel Atom: Die Intel Atom Serie besteht aus 64-Bit Mikroprozessoren für günstige und stromsparende Notebooks, MIDs oder UMPC. Besonderheit der Architektur, ist das die Befehle nicht wie derzeit üblich (z. B. Intel Core Architekture oder AMD Turion) "out of Order" sondern "in Order" ausgeführt werden. Dadurch verliert man zwar einiges an Performance, jedoch spart dies Transistoren und daher Kosten und dadurch auch etwas Strom.
