So, after all this time, should you still buy the Motorola Edge 60 Pro? If you can catch it in the upcoming Big Billion Day for around Rs 26,000-27,000, then absolutely. At that price, it’s an excellent deal for a phone that is this capable. Its key strengths have held up extremely well. The battery life is still one of its best features, and the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 keeps things running smoothly with great day-to-day performance. The display is vibrant and immersive, and the phone is extremely durable, especially against water. All that being said, the screen does pick up scratches easily, so definitely get a screen protector on day one. I did run into some network connectivity hiccups, but that could easily be down to my specific location and may not reflect your experience at all.

And also, apart from little optimization issues, there aren’t any major red flags about this phone if you think about it. It has a nice handy design, a good display, decent cameras, and satisfactory performance. And most of all you get a clean UI here where you don’t have to worry about bloatware or ads. It’s actually a really balanced phone and I have quite enjoyed using it during all this time. The Edge 60 Pro is a sleek all-rounder with a stunning display, strong battery life, clean software, and surprisingly capable cameras. Some polish is missing in the software and portrait shots, but for the price, it’s a solid pick.

Aside from slightly limited software support, my hands-on time suggests Motorola can mix it with the big names in the mid-range phone market. However, the cameras are still a big question mark for me. On paper, the 50Mp Sony Lytia sensor sounds good, but I’m not convinced Motorola’s software processing can quite match Google, Apple or Samsung. And while the ultrawide has had a nice boost to 50Mp and offers the flexibility of a 120-degree field of view, the 3x telephoto remains at just 10Mp. I don’t know if that’s enough for the Edge 60 Pro to become a top mid-range camera phone, which will be necessary to tempt people away from rivals. A few quick shots in the hands-on area looked decent, but it’s hard to draw any conclusions without extended real-world testing. Priced at €599.99 in Europe, the Edge 50 Pro represents good value for money, at least based on initial impressions. But will the camera end up being a dealbreaker when considering the fiercely competitive mid-range market? Time will tell.

But will the camera end up being a dealbreaker when considering the fiercely competitive mid-range market? Time will tell.

It punches well above its price tag in terms of appearance, while its vibrant display and huge battery ensure its not all about looks. I still need to test the Edge 60 Pro and Edge 60 in full to see how they perform compared to other mid-rangers out there, but both are certainly promising and left me with a great first impression.
