Der AMD Ryzen 5 2600X ist ein Desktop-Prozessor mit 6-Kernen und Hyperthreading (SMT). Somit kann der Prozessor insgesamt 12 Threads gleichzeitig verarbeiten. Mit dem Launch im April 2018 ist er der zweitschnellste Ryzen Desktop-Prozessor hinter dem Ryzen 7 2700X und ist mit einer TDP von 95 Watt spezifiziert. 

Der Ryzen 5 2600X taktet mit 3,6 GHz Basistakt und kann per Precision-Boost 2 auf bis zu 4,2 GHz takten. Bei Last aller 6 Kerne (12 Threads) erreicht der Ryzen 5 2600X maximal 3,9 GHz. Damit taktet der neue Ryzen 5 bei voller Auslastung 200 MHz höher als der direkte Vorgänger (Ryzen 5 1600X), welcher nur einen All-Core-Boost von 3,7 GHz erreichte.

Die Anwendungsperformance ist in Anwendungen gut und dank der sechs Kerne profitieren Anwender vor allem bei Multi-Thread-Anwendungen von dem besseren All-Core-Boost. Die 6 Kerne sind in je zwei Cluster (je 3 Kerne mit eigenem L3 Cache) unterteilt die per Infinity Fabric verbunden sind. 

Auch in Spielen überzeugt die Leistung des Ryzen 5 2600X und ist vergleichbar mit Intels Core i5-8600K.

Der AMD Ryzen 5 2600 ist ein Desktop-Prozessor mit 6-Kernen und Hyperthreading (SMT), welcher insgesamt 12 Threads gleichzeitig verarbeiten kann. Mit dem Launch der 2. Generation im April 2018 ist er der zweitschnellste Ryzen 5 Prozessor und mit 65 Watt TDP deutlich sparsamer als das Flagschiff der Ryzen 5 Serie (AMD Ryzen 5 2600X (95 Watt)). Dadurch erreicht der Ryzen 5 2600 eine sehr gute Energieeffizeinz, was aber zu Lasten der Leistung geht.

Der Ryzen 5 2600 taktet mit 3,4 GHz Basistakt und kann per Turbo auf bis zu 3,9 GHz takten. Die Leistungsausbeute ist bei Multi-Thread-Anwendungen immernoch auf einem hohen Level, wenngleich aber der Abstand zum Ryzen 5 2600X deutlich ist. Bei der Single.Core-Leistung profitiert der Ryzen 5 2600 ebenfalls, wie alle neuen Ryzen-Prozessoren von der neuen Zen+-Architektur, welche eine bessere IPC mit sich bringt. Die 6 Kerne sind in zwei Cluster (je 3 Kerne mit eigenem L3 Cache) unterteilt die per Infinity Fabric verbunden sind. 

Bei Spielen kann der auf die Zen+ Architektur basierende Prozessor ebenfalls gut überzeugen. Sogar den vermeintlich schnelleren Ryzen 7 2700 ist der Ryzen 5 2600 überlegen. Der Grund dafür ist der etwas höhere Basistakt, was in Spielen einen leichten Vorteil mit sich bringt.
