Superlative und Performance gibt es woanders, hier geht es um Vernunft und jeden Euro. Schließlich kann man sich auch mit einem eher langweiligen Handy spannende Dinge anschauen. Unter 200 Euro ist das Samsung Galaxy A17 5G ein guter Kandidat dafür. Es bietet ein großes und kontrastreiches Display, was vor ein paar Jahren zu dem Kurs kaum vorstellbar war. Das Tempo ist einerseits die Achillesferse, sofern Sie flottere Smartphones gewohnt sind, andererseits muss sich der alte Exynos-Prozessor nicht hinter den ähnlich teuren Konkurrenten von Motorola, Poco und Redmi verstecken. Hier wie dort werden Zocker nicht glücklich und sollten mehr investieren. Die Ausdauer ist allenfalls durchschnittlich, dafür punkten die Haupt- und Selfiekamera mit erfreulich guten Fotos. Das schlichte Design ist zeitlos. Dazu passt das in dieser Klasse nicht selbstverständliche langfristige Support-Versprechen.

The Galaxy A17 5G is meant to be a low-priced phone with a decent design and long software support from Samsung, but at its current pricing, it's far from competitive in its price bracket. You can easily find more powerful smarrtphones with longer battery life, faster charging and brighter displays with HDR support. Perhaps the biggest issue we had with the Galaxy A17 5G is how laggy it is. It's important to note that this is our experience with the 4GB variant. It's possible that the 6GB version has it much better. The poor performance now also raises the question of how Samsung will be able to keep this phone up to date with newer software versions, which will likely be more demanding of the hardware.
