Der AMD A12-9700P ist ein Mittelklasse-Modell der Bristol-Ridge APU-Serie für Notebooks (7. APU-Generation), die Mitte 2016 vorgestellt wurde. Der ULV-Chip mit einer TDP von 15 Watt (auf 12 Watt konfigurierbar) integriert unter anderem vier CPU-Kerne (zwei Excavator-Module), eine Radeon R7 Grafikkarte sowie einen Dual-Channel DDR4-1866 Speichercontroller. Als vollwertiger SoC verfügt Carrizo darüber hinaus über einen integrierten Chipsatz, der sämtliche I/O-Ports bereitstellt.

Architektur

Bei Bristol Ridge handelt es sich um den nahezu baugleichen Nachfolger der Carrizo-Architektur, der dank optimierter Fertigung und aggressiverem Boost-Verhalten jedoch bei gleicher Leistungsaufnahme etwas höhere Taktraten erreicht. Des Weiteren unterstützt der Speichercontroller nun auch DDR4-RAM, in diesem Fall bis zu einer Frequenz von 1.866 MHz.Weitere technische Details können in folgenden Artikeln nachgelesen werden:

Performance

Die Performance des A12-9700P positioniert sich zwischen den beiden 15 Watt Prozessoren A10-9600P und FX-9800P und damit in etwa auf dem Level eines Core i3 15 Watt Prozessors der Skylake bzw Kaby Lake Serien. Im Vergleich mit dem Intel-Modell kann sich der AMD-Chip bei guter Parallelisierung teils leicht absetzen, unterliegt jedoch bei Auslastung von nur 1 oder 2 Kernen. Bei anhaltender Volllast fällt die Kerntaktrate des A10-9700P TDP-bedingt merklich ab, wodurch sich die Performance etwas reduziert.

Für typische Office- und Internet-Anwendungensowie leichtes Multitasking stehen damit ausreichende Leistungsreserven bereit.

Grafikeinheit

Die integrierte Radeon R7 (Bristol Ridge) GPU verfügt über 512 aktive Shadereinheiten, die mit bis zu 758 MHz takten. Infolge der besseren Ausnutzung des Taktspielraums sowie des schnellen DDR4-Speichers übertrifft die GPU knapp ihre Vorgängermodelle Radeon R7 (Carrizo) und konkurriert im Optimalfall (Dual-Channel-Speicher) mit einer dedizierten GeForce 920MX. Viele Spiele des Jahres 2015/2016 können damit in niedrigen Einstellungen flüssig dargestellt werden.

Leistungsaufnahme

Die TDP des A12-9700P wird von AMD mit 15 Watt spezifiziert und ist somit vergleichbar zu den ULV-Modellen von Intel. Damit eignet sich die CPU am besten für schlanke Notebooks ab etwa 12 Zoll Bilddiagonale.

AMD Ryzen 3 2200G

Der AMD Ryzen 3 2200G ist ein Desktop-Prozessor mit integrierter Vega Grafikkarte. Der SoC beinhaltet 4 Zen Kerne (Quad-Core CPU, ohne SMT / Hyperthreading) die von 3,5 - 3,7 GHz getaktet werden. Der TDP ist mit 65 Watt spezifiziert. Der L3-Cache beträgt beim 2200G 4 MB. Weiters ist eine Radeon RX Vega 8 getaufte Grafikkarte mit 8 CUs (512 Shader bei maximal 1100 MHz) integriert. Der integrierte Speichercontroller unterstützt maximal Dual-Channel DDR4-2933.

Der AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U ist ein Mobilprozessor für schlanke Notebooks. Technisch ist er identisch zum Consumer Ryzen 5 2500U, jedoch bietet er zusätzliche Sicherheitsfunktionen und längere Garantiezeiten / Verfügbarkeit. Der SoC beinhaltet 4 Zen Kerne (Quad-Core CPU) die von 2 - 3,6 GHz getaktet werden. Der TDP ist konfigurierbar zwischen 12 und 25 Watt (15 Watt nominell) und daher eignet sich die APU auch für schlanke und leichte Notebooks. Der L3-Cache beträgt beim 2500U 4 MB. Weiters ist eine Radeon RX Vega 8 getaufte Grafikkarte mit 8 CUs (512 Shader) integriert. Der integrierte Speichercontroller unterstützt maximal Dual-Channel DDR4-2400.
