Though some aspects of the Acer Aspire Switch 11 V's physical design could stand to be improved, its performance and high-quality display are highlights. Across the board, it's faster than the similarly priced or less expensive competition, and is an upgrade on the already-good Acer Switch 11. While the many of the physical characteristics remain the same, the Switch 11 V performs better and adds dual-band Wi-Fi for $50 less.

Acer's Aspire Switch 11 V is no runway model, but devices in its budget category rarely are. It's function over form here and the 11 V is as functional as they come. Yes, its battery is terrible, but its easy convertibility and rock-solid inputs more than make up for it. If you don't have a lot to spend (and you don't mind your devices a little homely), then the Aspire Switch 11 V is a 2-in-1 worth considering.

While there are plenty of detachable 2-in-1 hybrids on the market, the Acer Aspire Switch 11 V ($500) is a compelling option for shoppers on a budget. Its strong magnetic hinge makes it easy to switch between tablet and desktop modes, and its Intel Core M processor has enough oomph for everyday use.

I can't help but feel slightly let down by the Aspire Switch 11 V. On the face of it, it's a fantastic-value 2-in-1 with oodles of storage, a great keyboard dock and decent performance. However, things fall apart in the energy efficiency stakes, which is where a light 2-in-1 should shine. Under five hours of battery life is unacceptable, as are the roasting temperatures on the rear of the tablet. It's frustratingly close to greatness, but it just falls short.

At first glance, a 2-in-1 seems smart except evidence suggests few people want or need Windows tablets. Acer has also failed to address critisicms of last year's Switch 11 in this new model. This leaves us an underpowered, ill-balanced and clunky little laptop with mediocre battery life and a nice screen. A better Windows laptop is the £650 ZenBook UX305. But if you need a tablet, buy an iPad Air 2 for £399.

The Acer Aspire Switch 11 V has decent screen, good keyboard and is tough enough for everyday duties. Plus, you get the whole Windows 10 benefit as well. There are some issues, however. The weight of the device will be a problem if you want to carry the Acer Switch around with you for prolonged periods. In addition, it offers a relatively short battery life when viewing media and other performance hitting tasks. Then we come to the Acer Switch's overall cost.

The Acer Aspire Switch 11 V is the most affordable Core M hybrid of the moment, with an announced MSRP of roughly $500. The device itself checks most of the right boxes, although some corners were cut here and there, and is a good option for those of you looking after a fanless 2-in-1 with a bit more oomph under the hood. The excellent price comes as a bonus.

Serie: Die Acer Aspire Switch Series ist eine Serie an portablen Hybrid-Laptops. Ihr Design ist dank eines attraktiv aussehenden Bildschirmdeckels elegant. Das Scharnier der Windows-Systeme ermöglicht es dem User im Handumdrehen den Bildschirm zu wenden, drehen und sogar von der Tastatur zu trennen. Die Modelle der Switch Serie sind mit unterschiedlichen Prozessoren ausgestattet, die von 1.33 GHz Intel Atom Z3745 bis zu Intel Core i5-6200U Prozessoren reichen. Für die Grafikkarte gibt es ebenfalls verschiedene Optionen von Intel HD Graphics bis zu Intel HD Graphics 5300.

In puncto Speicher bietet Acer zwei verschiedene Optionen: 32 GB und 64 GB. Die Serie umfasst 10,1- und 12-Zoll-Modelle. Die Bildschirme verfügen über Full-HD-Auflösung und IPS-Technologie und liefern von allen Blickwinkeln guten Kontrast und Farben. Zudem werden sie für zusätzlichen Schutz vor Beschädigungen und Kratzfestigkeit von Corning Gorilla Glass 3 geschützt. Der Tablet-Teil bietet einen USB-2.0-Port, einen Micro-HDMI-Port und eine Headset-Buchse und das Tastatur-Dock verfügt über einen weiteren USB-2.0-Port. Das Gewicht des Laptops liegt je nach Modell zwischen 1,05 bis zu 1,6 kg.

Intel HD Graphics 5300: Integrierte Grafikkarte (GT2), welche in einigen Core-M-CPUs (Broadwell, 4,5 Watt TDP) verbaut wird.

Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.
