Das LG Wing ist das neueste Mitglied der LG-Familie. Das Smartphone hat ein Vorderdisplay, das horizontal und hinauf geschwenkt werden kann, um ein kleineres Display zu enthüllen, was mehr Bildschirmfläche bietet. Trotz des Designs kann man das Smartphone noch mit einer Hand benutzen. Das LG Wing ist natürlich dicker und massiver als das LG Velvet bei genauem Vergleich, doch insgesamt sieht es auf den ersten Blick wie jedes andere Smartphone aus. Vom rechteckigen Design mit randlosem Bildschirm bis zum Fingerabdruck-Leser unter dem Display und USB-C-Anschluss auf der Unterkante sieht das Gerät den meisten Smartphones ähnlich. Allerdings sticht das LG Wing mit seinen Besonderheiten hervor. 

Der 6,8-Zoll-OLED-Hauptbildschirm wird horizontal und aufwärts geschwenkt, um einen 3,9-Zoll-Bildschirm freizugeben. Der kleinere Bildschirm funktioniert genau wie der größere, man kann dort Apps benutzen (wenn auch mit weniger Platz), bei der Kamera sekundäre Kontrollen anzeigen, oder die ganze Fläche als Tastatur benutzen. Für heutige Verhältnisse wirken 3,9 Zoll winzig, doch es ist nur etwas kleiner als der 4-Zoll-Bildschirm des iPhone 5 oder des ursprünglichen iPhone SE. Für Tippen und gelegentliches Browsen reicht es allemal. 

Das LG Wing wurde mit drei Kameras ausgerüstet, darunter mit einer 64-MP-Hauptkamera mit einem Blickwinkel von 78 Grad und einer 13-MP-Ultra-Weitwinkelkamera mit einem Blickwinkel von 107 Grad. Beide können für stille Fotografie- oder Video-Aufnahmen eingesetzt werden. Zusätzlich gibt es noch eine 12-MP-Ultra-Weitwinkelkamera mit einem Blickwinkel von 120 Grad, was besonders für Videos mit Schwenks gedacht ist. Sobald der Hauptbildschirm hochgeschoben wird, kann man mit dem Kardan-Modus und den Steuerungen auf dem zweiten Bildschirm die Kamera so bewegen, dass bei Videos der Eindruck eines Tragrahmens entsteht. Darüber hinaus gibt es einen neuen “Hexa-Bewegungssensor”, der Aufnahmen stabilisiert und es digital ermöglicht, einem Subjekt zu folgen und die Kamera zu schwenken. Zu den drei Hauptkameras kommt noch eine 32-MP-Vorderkamera, die aus der Oberkante des Smartphones auftaucht. Zum ersten mal bei LG kann man einen Dual-Recording-Modus verwenden, bei dem man während der Aufnahme zwischen der Vorder- und Hinterkamera wechseln oder sogar das eine Bild in das andere setzen kann.

Das LG Wing verfügt über einen Snapdragon 765G Chipsatz, der 5G-Verbindungen ermöglicht. Außerdem stecken im Inneren noch solide aber nicht großartige 8 GB Arbeitsspeicher und 256 GB Speicherplatz (mit einer Mikro-SD-Karte um bis zu 2 TB erweiterbar). Alles in allem handelt es sich um ein tolles Smartphone, die Wahl bleibt aber natürlich subjektiv.

SD 765G: Mittelklasse SoC mit 8 Kryo 475 Kernen (1x ARM Cortex A76 2,4 GHz Prime Core, 1x ARM Cortex A76 2,2 GHz Gold Core und 6x ARM Cortex-A55 1,8 GHz) und einem X52 5G Modem (bis zu 3,7 / 1,6 Mbps Down- und Upload, mmWave und Sub-6 Support). Im Vergleich zur Non-G Version ist der Prime-Core um 100 MHz höher getaktet und auch die GPU bietet einen nicht definierten höheren Takt (+20% mehr Leistung).
