Modell: Das Nokia 7 Plus ist das erste Nokia-Smartphone mit einem 18:9-Bildschirm. Es verfügt über einen großen 6-Zoll Full HD+ IPS-Bildschirm mit einer Auflösung von 2.160 × 1.080 Pixeln. Im Inneren arbeiten ein Snapdragon 660 Prozessor, 4 GB RAM und 64 GB interner Speicher. Die Speicherkapazität kann mit einer MicroSD-Karte erweitert werden. Ein 3.800 mAh Akku versorgt das Gerät mit Strom. Fast-Charging via USB-C wird unterstützt. Für Fotos erhalten User eine primäre Dual-Kamera-Lösung mit 12 MP Primärsensor, 1.4 µ Pixelgröße und f/1.75 Blende und einen 13 MP Sekundärsensor mit 1 µ Pixelgröße und kurzer f/2.6 Telephoto-Linse. Beide nutzen ZEISS Optik. An der Vorderseite befindet sich eine 16 MP Selfiekamera. Mit 16 MP hat die Frontkamera tatsächlich eine höhere Auflösung als beide Sensoren an der Rückseite und HMD behauptet, dass sie sich ausgezeichnet für das Aufnehmen von Selfies unter schlechten Lichtbedingungen eignet. In puncto Software läuft das Smartphone unter Android 8.0 Oreo mit Nokias Zusage für Sicherheits- und Software-Updates. Die Beschichtung an der Rückseite ist das, was User am meisten anzieht. Antennen-Linien sind nicht sichtbar, was großteils der 6-Schicht-Keramik-Farbbeschichtung zu verdanken ist, die Funkverbindungen verbessert. Die Beschichtung macht die Rückseite des Phones matt und fühlt sich absolut wunderbar an.

Das Gesamtdesign mit gerundeten Ecken am Bildschirm und minimalen oberen und untern Rahmen erinnert stark an das Google Pixel 2 XL. Dreht man das 7 Plus dagegen um, sieht es eher wie ein traditionelles von HMD hergestelltes Nokia-Phone aus. Das Dual-Kamera-System, der Fingerabdruckleser und das Nokia-Logo werden mit einem schönen Kupferton akzentuiert. Der Lautstärkeregler und der Stromschalter an der rechten Seite sind einfach zu finden und zu drücken. An der Unterseite befindet sich ein USB Type-C Ladeport. Anders als bei Sirocco steht Usern an der Oberkante des Phones auch eine Kopfhörerbuchse zur Verfügung. Das Nokia 7 Plus ist ein schönes Phone und es ist eine Freude es zu berühren. Der 6-Zoll-Bildschirm lässt es groß aussehen. Dank der griffigen Keramikbeschichtung wirkt es nicht so als würde es aus der Hand rutschen. Der IPS-Bildschirm sieht farbenfroh, relativ hell und scharf aus. Die meisten von HMDs neuen Nokia-Phones laufen mittlerweile unter Android One. Daher gibt es keine Bloatware, sondern nur Google Apps. Die Software-Erfahrung ist reines Android 8.0 Oreo und User erhalten schnellen Zugriff auf Versions- und Sicherheitsupdates. Ein Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Prozessor und 4 GB RAM sollten normalen Usern ausreichend Leistung bieten. 64 GB interner Speicher stehen zur Verfügung. Zudem gibt es einen MicroSD-Kartenleser, sollten User mehr Speicher benötigen. Das größte Versprechen, das HMD mit dem Nokia 7 Plus gibt, ist zwei Tage Akkulaufzeit.

Die Nokia-Marke ist ein Gruß aus der Vergangenheit für die meisten von uns, die schon mal die Möglichkeit gehabt haben, in Mobiltelefone vor der Smartphone-Ära zu investieren. Jetzt macht dieser Gigant von einer Marke ein Comeback mit vielen neuen, Android-basierten Geräten. Das neueste Angebot ist das Nokia 7 Plus. Mit einem Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Prozessor und 4 GB Arbeitsspeicher ist es für maximale Leistung vollkommen optimiert. Das neue Handy von Nokia ist außerdem mit Android 8.1 Oreo, einem großen 3800-mAh-Akku mit zweitägiger Standby-Leistung, sowie einer Nokia-exklusiven Dual-Kamera mit ZEISS-Optik ausgerüstet. Die Hauptkamera verfügt über eine 12-MP-Weitwinkellinse, die sekundäre Kamera über eine 13-MP-Linse mit doppeltem optischen Zoom. Die weiten Blendenöffnungen beider Kameras (f/1.7 bzw. f/2.6) ermöglichen problemloses Fotografieren bei schwachen Lichtverhältnissen. Für jene, die an Selfies interessiert sind, gibt es noch eine 16-MP-Vorderkamera, ebenfalls mit ZEISS-Optik. Um diesem Smartphone einen ästhetischen Vorteil gegenüber den zig anderen Geräten, die zurzeit erhätlich sind, zu geben, verpasste Nokia dem 7 Plus ein brillantes zweifarbiges Finish. Die keramikartige Beschichtung des Gehäuses verleiht dem Gerät gute Griffigkeit. Man muss sich auch keine Sorgen über schmutzige und ölige Fingerabdrücke machen. Die dünne Einfassung des 6-Zoll-IPS-Bildschirmes mit Full-HD-Auflösung bietet Platz für mehr Inhalt auf dem Display. Multitasking? Kein Problem - mit einem leichten Tippen auf das Display bekommt man zwei 1:1-Fenster.

Abgesehen von der ausgezeichneten Ästhetik und leistungsstarken Hardware unter der Haube ist das Beste am Nokia 7 Plus das Betriebssystem: Android One. Es handelt sich hierbei um die originale Version von Android, ohne jegliche Modifikationen oder Bloatware vom Hersteller. Es bedeutet auch, dass Nutzer die neuesten Sicherheitspatches und Updates erhalten, sobald sie von Google veröffentlicht werden. Auch sonst scheint Nokia Schritt mit der Zeit zu halten, denn das 7 Plus ist mit einem USB-Typ-C-Anschluss für schnelleres Laden ausgerüstet, um genauer zu sein Qualcomms Quick-Charge-3.0, was sich die meisten Handynutzer wünschen. Ein USB-Typ-C-Anschluss mag zwar für Technologie-Benutzer wie die Norm erscheinen, doch eine überraschend große Anzahl an Herstellern will sich nicht vom Mikro-USB-Anschluss trennen. Nokia war einst ein sehr guter Handy-Hersteller, und es ist erfreulich zu sehen, dass sie noch immer wettbewerbsfähig sind, besonders wenn der Markt mit so vielen Marken - alten und neuen - übersät ist. Das Nokia 7 Plus ist stilvoll, gut verarbeitet, und die Technologie im Inneren wird Nokia zweifelsohne den techologischen Vorsprung geben, den sie unbedingt brauchen, um mit anderen Smartphone-Herstellern mitzuhalten.
