With so much competition in the affordable 5G handset space, the Nokia G60 5G stands apart by nailing the basics – it’s a solid-feeling device with a HD display that’s big, if not overly beautiful. There’s plenty of onboard storage and decent performance, one impressive camera, and it’s a nice cheap way to get on board with Android and get 5G speeds. If you can look past the dull speaker and very basic camera setup (aside from the main snapper), it’s well worth a look.

But the camera quality could have been better, while not giving a charger to the mid-range phone might not be a great idea. Overall, if you are looking for a clean UI experience under $400, then we will recommend you purchase this phone but don’t expect higher camera quality or fast charging support. Apart from this, if you are in search of an all-rounder mid-range phone, we suggest you look out for the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G which grants a great balance of software and hardware. Nokia G60 smartphone is announced in September 2022 and this 5G smartphone features a 6.58 inches IPS LCD display panel with a high 120Hz refresh rate and 400 nits brightness rating. Besides this, you get Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and splash resistance on the phone. For performance, the Nokia G60 offers the 6nm Qualcomm SM6375 Snapdragon 695 5G chipset integrated with Adreno 619 GPU. In terms of software, you get the latest Android 12 OS. For internals, the device is available in 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage options. Furthermore, the phone equips a triple-rear camera with a 50MP main, 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP depth lens. On the front, you get a decent 8MP selfie lens that can record 1080p videos at 30fps. The phone is powered by a decent Li-Po 4500 mAh battery with 20W fast charging. You get the device in two colors- Pure Black, and Ice Gray. The phone is expected to cost $319 (Rs 33,000 in India) approx.

The G60 5G is well built, takes a decent photo (as long as you stick to the main sensor) and delivers respectable performance for a sub-£300 phone. But the same can be said for many of its rivals. The Motorola G82 doesn’t demand much more cash, yet comes with an AMOLED screen, bigger battery and stabilised main camera. It’s the Nokia’s environmental chops that give it reason for being. You can pick one up on the firm’s Circular subscription plan for £12.50 a month, keep it for the length of a typical contract from any of the UK mobile networks, and be quids in when it’s time to hand it back – while also knowing it won’t just end up in landfill, but get reused or recycled. Plus you’re contributing to environmental efforts all the while you’re actually using it. We appreciate Nokia’s commitment to sustainability, even if it feels like very early days for a scheme that has yet to demonstrate any meaningful change. Still, for those concerned by the impact their gadgets are having on the planet, that might be enough to sway things in Nokia’s direction.

Qualcomm Adreno 619: Grafikchip für Smartphones und Tablets, integriert im Qualcomm Snapdragon 750 SoC. Die Performance ist deutlich besser als der alte Adreno 612.
