Aufgrund der langen Wartezeit auf das OnePlus 5, sind inzwischen auch schon einige Updates veröffentlicht worden, welche kleine Bugs für die Kamera, Akku und Verbindungen behoben hat. Mein erster Eindruck ist, dass das OnePlus 5 Ratten schnell ist. Kein Wunder, 8 GB RAM und eine Snapdragon 835 Octa-Core-CPU (2,45 GHz), könnten „rein theoretisch“ auch in einem Laptop zum Einsatz kommen.

Kein Wunder, ist das OnePlus 5 so beliebt in den USA: Man bekommt Topqualität zum Sparpreis. Bei uns ist der monetäre Vorteil nicht ganz so gross. Aber das Verhältnis von Preis und Leistung ist immer noch sehr gut. Schade eigentlich, hat OnePlus 5 das aufregende Technikpaket in ein ziemlich konventionelles, fast schon langweiliges Design gesteckt.

Das OnePlus 5 wird des Öfteren als Flaggschiff-Killer tituliert. Dabei war es im Test von inside-handy.de handzahm und hat auch keines der anwesenden Galaxy S8, iPhone 7 oder Huawei P10 angenagt. Trotzdem kommt es nicht nur gefährlich nah an die Spitzenmodelle der Konkurrenten Samsung, Huawei, Apple, LG, Sony und so weiter ran, es ist in einigen Teilen deren Modellen sogar überlegen.

I liked this phone. The Dash Charging is awesome. It charges the battery quickly and is the best I’ve used with fast charging. I thought the overall performance was good and the phone really is a decent work horse. Getting hold of it is a different story though. If you want to purchase it cash you can buy it from the distributor direct for R11 970 else you can only get it on contract via FNB connect. That’s annoying, I wish more providers would make it available.

This is with an average of 4.5 to 6 hours’ screen on time and although phone calls in particular do drain the battery somewhat, the OnePlus 5 battery certainly does a pretty good job at keeping the handset powered all day. On the other hand, if you opt for the 8GB/128GB version for AED 2099, that puts the OnePlus 5 in close range of the Samsung Galaxy S8 which might have a lesser amount of RAM and storage space but has a better design and features such as the Infinity Display, Always-On screen, Wireless Charging and a Dual Pixel camera which takes incredibly good pictures. Okay, there is the Xiaomi Mi 6 for RM1899, but we haven't really tested it so we can't say for sure about that. But one thing for sure is that this is called a "flagship killer" for a good reason, if you compare to the iPhone 7 Plus which is RM3699, the OnePlus 5 is obviously a better alternative since both have that similar telephoto lens. It's also much more affordable than the Samsung Galaxy S8 which goes for RM3299 (now RM2595, but still if you don't like the Infinity Display, the OnePlus 5 is definitely more preferable). Granted, the Huawei P10 is currently going for RM1939 from RM2499 but this is more of for those who prefer a dedicated monochrome sensor.

Modell: Während das OnePlus immer als Flaggschiff-Phone ohne Flaggschiff-Preis angepriesen wurde, hat sich das anscheinend beim OnePlus5 geändert. Wie schneidet die neue Generation verglichen mit seinen Konkurrenten ab? Jedenfalls wirkt diese Oneplus + Nummer Nomenklatur allmählich angestaubt. Das OnePlus 5 verfügt über einen Qualcomm 835 SoC mit, je nach Variante, 6 oder 8 GB RAM und 64 GB internen Speicher. Allerdings kann das Gerät nicht mehr mit einer normalen SDXC-Karte erweitert werden, denn ein entsprechender Slot fehlt. Das wirkt wie ein Schritt zurück, vor allem wenn man bedenkt, dass es sich beim OnePlus 5 um ein Android-Gerät handelt. Doch auch andere Hersteller von Android-Phones beschränken ihre Phones auf diese Art. Das OnePlus 5 ist mit einem 5,5 Zoll großen AMOLED-Bildschirm mit einer Auflösung von 2.560 x 1.440 Pixeln ausgestattet. Verglichen mit Konkurrenten wie dem iPhone 7 ist der Bildschirm ausreichend scharf und lebendig. Allerdings ist er weniger hell als das iPhone 7. Dennoch bleibt er in heller Umgebung angenehm ablesbar. Das Gehäuse des OnePlus5 ist akzeptabel solide gebaut. Anders als die meisten aktuellen Flagship-Phones ist das OnePlus 5 nicht wasserfest. Das könnte ein Grund sein, das Phone nicht zu kaufen, da es sich dabei heutzutage um ein Standard-Merkmal handelt.

Was nutzt all das Gerede über LCD-Panel und Hardware, wenn ein offensichtliches Problem nicht angesprochen wird. Die Kamera ähnelt Apples Dual-Kamera-System. Um einen optischen Zoom zu ermöglichen, muss das OnePlus zwei verschiedene Kameras mit unterschiedlicher optischer Wellenlänge nutzen. Das ermöglicht einen Hardware-Zoom – während die meisten Phones nur über einen Software-Zoom verfügen. Doch all diese Vorteile könnten irrelevant sein, denn, anders als sein Vorgänger, verfügt das OnePlus 5 nicht über optische Bildstabilisierung. Einsparungen gehören also nicht der Vergangenheit an, obwohl es sich um ein Flaggschiff-Modell handelt. Trotzdem schießt das OnePlus 5 gute Bilder, obwohl es durch die fehlende Stabilisierung etwas behindert wird. In puncto Software ist am OnePlus 5 Android 7.1.1 OxygenOS vorinstalliert, welches Googles Basis-Android-Funktionalität um konfigurierbare Gesten erweitert. Ein herausragendes Features dieses Flaggschiff-Phones ist, dass das OnePlus 5 mit viel Speicher ausgestattet ist. Allerdings könnte dies auch für Android als zu viel des Guten empfunden werden. In Anbetracht des Verkaufspreises handelt es sich tatsächlich um ein Schnäppchen. Bei portablen Geräten ist Akkulaufzeit ein wichtiger Aspekt. Man kann mit Sicherheit feststellen, dass das OnePlus 5 seinem Flaggschiff-Titel entspricht, denn es kann mit seinem 3300 mAh Akku einen Tag lang verwendet werden. Insgesamt entspricht das OnePlus 5 in bestimmten Aspekten dem, was sich die meisten User von OnePlus erwartet haben. Andererseits wirkt das OnePlus 5 in anderen Merkmalen, über welche sein Vorgänger verfügte, wie ein Kompromiss .
