One strange omission that keeps affecting OnePlus phones is that there isn’t the correct DRM to allow streaming of Netflix, Google Play Movies or Amazon Prime in HD. Instead, it caps you at SD and sometimes forces you manually alter the resolution in YouTube. It’s a really strange missing feature that I haven’t seen on any other phone and considering this big screen is perfect for watching videos it’s even more annoying you can’t watch it in HD.

The OnePlus 5T is a great phone, especially as it's the same price as its predecessor. However, there's certainly no reason to upgrade if you already have a OnePlus 5. Most of the specifications are the same.

Other than the screen, the one big difference between the new OnePlus flagship and its predecessor is the fact that the secondary rear camera is now dedicated to low-light performance. You now get one 16-megapixel sensor and one 20-megapixel sensor on the rear, both with f/1.7 aperture lenses and the same 27.22mm focal length. In low light, the camera app will automatically switch to the secondary rear camera in an attempt to improve the output. With two cameras, the obligatory portrait mode is also supported. Modell: Wie der Name vermuten lässt, ist das OnePlus 5T kein vollständig neues Mobiltelefon. Stattdessen handelt es sich um ein inkrementelles Upgrade vom OnePlus 5. Das OnePlus 5T gehört zu den Phones mit dem besten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis am Markt. Allerdings sollte man einige kleine Kompromisse beachten, etwa kein QHD-Bildschirm, keine Stereo-Lautsprecher, Speicher nicht erweiterbar und keine herausragende Kamera. Das industrielle Aluminium-Unibody-Design des 5T ist großartig, obwohl es sich im Wesentlichen um das gleiche Design wie beim OnePlus handelt. Die Kanten sind schön gekrümmt und es ist nicht zu groß und wirklich schlank. Im Gegensatz zum 5 ist das 5T nur in Midnight Black erhältlich. Die größte Veränderung am Design ist, dass sich der Fingerabdruckleser nun unter der Kamera an der Rückseite befindet und nicht mehr an der Vorderseite des Phones. Der Fingerabdruckleser wurde an die Rückseite verlagert, denn die Vorderseite des Phones wurde vollständig neu gestaltet. Der klobige Rahmen um den Bildschirm ist gemeinsam mit den kapazitiven Tasten an seiner Seite verschwunden. User erhalten nun ein 18:9 Seitenverhältnis und ein fast kantenbündiges 6-Zoll-Design. Ein 6-Zoll-Bildschirm in einem Gehäuse, das nur um ein Haar größer als das 5,5 Zoll große OnePlus 5 ist, ist beeindruckend und ein Argument für das 5T. Das OnePlus 5T nutzt einen Samsung OLED-Bildschirm. Es handelt sich um ein großes, helles 6-Zoll-Panel mit einer etwas seltsamen Auflösung von 2.160 x 1.080 Pixeln, die als FHD+ klassifiziert ist, jedoch oben etwas mehr Pixel bietet, sodass der User keine Schärfe durch die Verlängerung des Bildschirms verliert. Diese Auflösung entspricht nicht den Quad-HD-Panels, die einige Konkurrenten sogar in dieser Preisklasse benutzen, doch der Bildschirm des OnePlus 5T ist ausreichend scharf, sodass User keine einzelnen Pixeln erkennen können. Zudem wird HDR und Dolby Vision nicht unterstützt.

Im Inneren des OnePlus 5T arbeiten ein Snapdragon 835, 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM und 64/128GB UFS 2.1 Speicher. Das OnePlus 5T nutzt seine Komponenten effizient. Es kommt zu keinen Verzögerungen und Apps öffnen sich unmittelbar. Das OnePlus 5T verfügt über 16-MP- und 20-MP-Sensoren von Sony mit einer größeren f/1.7-Blende für bessere Bildqualität unter schlechten Lichtbedingungen und gleicher 27.22 mm Brennweite. Was Software betrifft gehört dieses optimierte Android, welches OnePlus auf seinen Phones nutzt, zu den besten am Markt. Es ist wenig anspruchsvoll und sieht sehr wie Basis-Android aus, bietet jedoch eine Fülle an wirklich durchdachten und nützlichen Erweiterungen. ‘Face Unlock’ ist ein neues Schlüsselmerkmal des 5T. Es handelt sich um ein selbsterklärendes Sicherheitsmerkmal, das Face ID auf dem iPhone X ähnelt. Auch wenn es nicht so technisch wie die Lösung von Apple ist, denn Face Unlock nutzt nur die Frontkamera und nicht eine Fülle von eigenständigen Sensoren, funktioniert es überraschend gut. Die Lösung ist einfach. Schaut der User gerade auf das Phone, um es zu entsperren, wird der Lock-Screen vollkommen übersprungen. Eine weitere Software-Erweiterung ist Parallel Apps. Diese ermöglicht Erstellen von sekundären Versionen von Apps wie LinkedIn, Instagram und Facebook für Arbeitsprofile. Das ist ein toller Trick, wenn User das Phone sowohl privat als auch geschäftlich einsetzen. Das 5T ergänzt ein bereits großartiges Phone mit allen Features, die notwendig sind, um jedes beliebige Flagship von 2017 zu übertreffen.
