Das Razer Blade Pro 17 ist der neueste Laptop in der Razor-Blade-Familie. Das Gerät soll die Funktionalität eines Gaming-Notebooks und einer Arbeitsstation in einem schicken, schlanken CNC-Aluminium-Paket bieten. Das Blade Pro 17 ist das jüngste Notebook mit eingebauten Prozessoren von Intels achtkerniger H-Reihe zehnter Generation, für Gaming-Leistung sorgen Nvidias neue RTX-Super-GPUs. Razer hat bei diesem Laptop außerdem die allzeit herrlichen Displays mit einer Bildrate von 300 Hz versehen.

Wie jedes andere Blade besteht das Blade Pro 17 auch aus CNC-Aluminium, diesmal in einer schönen ebenholzschwarzen Farbe. Unter der Tastatur befindet sich ein recht großes Touchpad, an den Seiten sind die Lautsprecher. Zwischen dem oberen Rand der Tastatur und dem runden Scharnier gibt es viel Platz für Lüfter, die heiße Luft aus dem Kühlersystem abführen. Die Island-Style-Tastatur des Razer Blade Pro 17 bietet ausreichend Abstand zwischen den Tasten und federndes Feedback. Die fantastische Chroma-Beleuchtung ist definitiv eines der Highlights dieses Laptops. Das Touchpad aus Glas ist glatt und reagiert schnell auf Windows-10-Gesten wie Pinch-Zoom oder mit drei Fingern klicken.

Das Notebook wurde mit einem 17,3-Zoll-Bildschirm mit Full-HD-Auflösung und ohne Touch-Funktionalität ausgestattet. Trotz des matten Überzugs bleiben die Farben leuchtend. Das Display ist von einem relativ schmalen Rand umgeben, außer an der Unterkante. Die Schnittstellen-Auswahl ist der doppelten Rolle des Razer Blade Pro als Gaming-Notebook und Arbeitsstation angepasst. Auf der rechten Seite befinden sich ein USB-3.2-Gen-2-Typ-A-, ein Thunderbolt-3-, ein HDMI-2.0-Anschluss, ein SD-Kartenleser und ein Anschluss für ein Kensington-Schloss. Zusätzlich sind auf der linken Seite zweimal USB-3.2-Typ-A, einmal USB-3.2-Gen-2-Typ-C, einmal Ethernet, eine Audiobuchse und ein Anschluss für das Netzteil vorhanden.

Das Razer Blade Pro 17 wurde mit einem 2.8-GHz Intel Core i7-10875H Prozessor und 16 GB Arbeitsspeicher ausgestattet. Allerdings wird das Notebook ziemlich schnell warm, sogar nach 15 Minuten Videowiedergabe im Vollbildschirmmodus; dies sollten Nutzer bei der Wartung beachten. Der Akku hat eine Kapazität von 70,5 Wh, hält aber nicht sehr lange beim Gaming. Der Laptop-Mag-Akkutest ergab dennoch eine Laufzeit von 4 Stunden und 41 Minuten, was recht beeindruckend ist. Darüber hinaus verfügt das Notebook über eine 720-p-Webcam, die scharfe und detaillierte Bilder produziert. Insgesamt ist das Razer Blade Pro 17 mit reichlich leistungsstarken Komponenten ausgerüstet, was der Preis aber natürlich widerspiegelt.

The Blade Pro 17 deftly straddles the line between thin-and-light 17-inch general-purpose power models like the Dell XPS 17 9700 ($2,940 at Dell, Inc.) and hulking, steroidal gaming systems like the Acer Predator Helios 700 and Gigabyte Aorus 17x ($3,982 at Amazon). While it may look like a Dark Side MacBook Pro 16, it's not really a competitor; it's much heavier and with far shorter battery life thanks to its more gaming-focused components. But its big, high-resolution color-accurate Adobe RGB screen and good performance in applications and games that use both the CPU and graphics processor for optimal performance -- think Shadow of the Tomb Raider, 3DS Max, Maya and so on -- and full set of connections make it particularly well suited for gaming, graphics and photo editing.

The laptop also managed to deliver great endurance on our battery test. And I can’t stress enough how gorgeous the new panels are. Is the price tag a bit hefty? Yes, but that’s to be expected from a premium gaming laptop, especially one that’s being positioned as a competent workstation.

Razer: Razer USA Ltd. ist ein 1998 gegründeter US-amerikanischer Hardware-Hersteller. Der Fokus liegt bei Gaming-Geräten sowie Zubehör, traditionell Computer-Mäuse und Mousepads. Oftmals wurden die Produkte nach Fabelwesen oder Tieren benannt. Es werden aber auch Razer Laptops angeboten unter der Reihenbezeichnung "Blade". Razer hat auch eine VOIP-Software namens Razer Comms herausgebracht.

Diese Grafikkarten sollten alle modernen Spiele flüssig darstellen können. Anspruchsvolle Spiele müssen jedoch in mittlerer Detailstufe gespielt werden. Ältere und weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele wie die Sims Serie können auch in hohen Detailsstufen flüssig dargestellt werden.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q: High-End Notebook-Grafikkarte basierend auf die mobile und Desktop RTX 2070 jedoch bei deutlich reduzierten Taktraten und verringertem Stromverbrauch.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q: High-End Notebook-Grafikkarte basierend auf die Turing Architektur. Die Max-Q Variante ist die Stromsparvariante der mobilen RTX 2080 Super (Max-P) mit deutlich reduzierten Taktraten und Stromverbrauch. Der TGP ist spezifiziert mit 80 - 90 Watt und dadurch deutlich niedriger als bei der normalen 2080S Mobile mit 150 - 200 Watt.

i7-10875H: Auf der Comet-Lake-Architektur basierender SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für große Notebooks. Integriert unter anderem acht CPU-Kerne mit 2,3 - 5,1 GHz (4,3 bei allen 8 Kernen) und HyperThreading sowie eine Grafikeinheit und wird in 14-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt.
