Wrapping up this review, as you might tell, I have quite enjoyed my time with the Realme GT Master Explorer Edition. With its curved design and the Snapdragon 870 on board, it felt like I was using a flagship phone. Then again, it does have some caveats that you can’t expect at this price range. For instance, its cameras aren’t as good as last year’s flagships and you don’t get any sort of IP rating either. But with all things considered, among all the phones I have used this year, I can go as far as to say that this is the best premium midrange phone of 2021. And probably the “flagship killer” phone of the year too. Therefore, I am really looking forward to Realme launching this phone globally, and I hope BBK doesn’t mess this up and prioritize the OnePlus 9RT instead—which simply won’t be fair for Realme.

The Realme GT Master Explorer Edition isn’t a device without compromises, but it’s perfectly tailered for someone who’s looking for a gaming-centric smartphone that also offers a premium build and a fairly good main camera. Just keep in mind that there are some workaround needed to get the Google Play Store installed on the phone and you won’t necisserily have the best software experience. If this device checks all the right boxes for you, it’s not a bad buy at all, but there are definitely quite a few other smartphones for $50 or $100 more that will be less of a hassle, especially for those of us in North America and Europe.

A GT for everyone, that must have been at least part of Realme's goal. The GT Explorer Master is, at first glance, the photography-centric model of the bunch, offering a proper high-end main camera, and the best ultrawide Realme's put in a phone. The GT EM does deliver on this promise, but the list of good things about it goes on to include the beautiful AMOLED display, excellent battery life, and high-performing chipset. Add to that the eye-catching shell of the suitcase version, and there's very little missing. Having said all that, the Realme GT Explorer Master is still nowhere to be found on official channels in Europe. But when it does show up, we can't name a legitimate reason not to get one.

If you want to get away from the usual, this smartphone has a lot to offer by way of speed, its RAM and user memory options, its excellent display, its cameras, battery life, and its excellent sound. It’s a shame that realme isn’t more widely available in the US yet, but hopefully, that will be changing soon.

Qualcomm Adreno 650: Grafikchip für Smartphones und Tablets, integriert im Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Laut Qualcomm um 25% schneller als die alte Adreno 640 im Snapdragon 855.
Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

SD 870: High-End SoC (System on a Chip) für Smartphones welcher Mitte 2021 vorgestellt wurde. Integriert unter anderen einen schnellen "Prime Core" mit bis zu 3,2 GHz und drei weitere schnelle Cortex-A77 basierende Performance-Kerne.
