Dabei hat Apple mehr Wert auf die Verbesserung der Qualität als auf Innovationen gesetzt. Trotzdem kann Apple derzeit noch mit dem Gesamtpaket von Hard- und Software sowie die reibungslose Integration in die Apple-Welt punkten. Eine alles überragende Funktion, mit dem das Gerät die Konkurrenz abhängt, fehlt. Es ist vielmehr das Gesamtkonzept aus perfekt abgestimmter Hard- und Software und dem Ökosystem, das das iPhone 5 an die Spitze befördert.

LTE steht zwar auf der Featureliste, das iPhone 5 unterstützt aber nur das 1800-MHz-Band ... Das Retina-Display erreicht mit 640 x 1136 Pixeln zwar keine HD-Auflösung, hat aufgrund der kleinen Abmessungen mit 326 ppi aber trotzdem eine sehr hohe Pixeldichte ... Befeuert wird das 5er vom inzwischen überholten Apple-A6-Prozessor, der aber immer noch satte Rechenpower liefert.

So for those using your iPhone for work purposes and as a camera replacement, we'd say it's worth an upgrade as early as possible. For anyone else, the updates aren't vital enough to merit rushing to upgrade and we'd instead suggest waiting until the next iPhone is out as this will likely offer a broader range of improvements.

So we're awarding the crown to the S4, as it won in the more important battles. The phone boasts a better camera, slightly faster performance and a clearer display than its Apple competitor. It was a close call, as despite being almost a year old the Apple iPhone still boasts superior build quality, more intuitive and bloatware-free software, and a slightly better battery life than the Galaxy S4. Because of this we're not convinced the S4 will be able to pull off the same feat when facing its real challenger, the next Apple iPhone.

We'll let you decide which you think is more attractive since it's down to personal taste. What is worth pointing out is that the Galaxy S4 uses a largely plastic build with a removable cover while the iPhone 5 is made from glass and aluminium. This is the key difference for us and where the iPhone 5 comes out distinctly on top.

Da das iPhone 5S aktuell das Flaggschiff von Apple ist und das iPhone 5C als iPhone-5-Update herausgebracht wurde, könnten einige Anwender überrascht sein, dass sich das iPhone 5 immer noch behauptet. Der Aluminium-Körper ist robust und schön und sieht immer noch nicht veraltet aus. Im Vergleich mit der Konkurrenz bekommt man jedoch nicht die beste Leistung oder einen überwältigend großen Bildschirm. Obwohl es die Besten am Markt nicht übertreffen kann, läuft es immer noch ausreichend flüssig und fühlt sich nicht veraltet an.
Ein offensichtlicher Vorteil, das iPhone 5 jetzt zu wählen, ist, dass es billiger als die jüngsten iPhones ist. Der 4-Zoll Bildschirm mag verglichen mit den Marktführern winzig wirken, doch er ist ausreichend. Apple ist für seine Retina-Bildschirme mit 326 Pixel pro Zoll bekannt. Doch auch dieser 1136 x 640 Pixel Bildschirm liefert großartige Farben und Details. Vielleicht ist das iPhone 5 auch deshalb eine gute Wahl, weil das jüngste iPhone 5S etwas seiner Zeit voraus ist und es noch an Apps mangelt, die tatsächlich von seiner Leistung profitieren würden. Insgesamt bleibt das iPhone 5 immer noch eine gute Wahl.

Apple: Apple Inc. ist seit 1976 ein Unternehmen mit Hauptsitz in den USA, das Computer und Unterhaltungselektronik sowie Betriebssysteme und Anwendungssoftware herstellt. Zu ihren Notebooks ist zu sagen, dass sie überwiegend im hochpreisigen Segment angesiedelt sind, ein eigenes Betriebssystem aufweisen, jedoch auch Windows auf den neueren Macbooks läuft.
Steve Jobs zur Entstehung des Namens "Apple": "Wir waren damals mit der Anmeldung unseres Unternehmensnamens drei Monate im Verzug, und ich drohte, das Unternehmen 'Apple Computer' zu nennen, falls bis fünf Uhr niemandem ein interessanterer Name einfällt. Die IDC-Studie 2007 führte Apple mit 5.7 Prozent Marktanteil auf Rang fünf aller PC-Hersteller weltweit. Apple gilt seit 2011 zumindest zeitweise als wertvollstes Unternehmen der Welt und befindet sich seit damals durchgehend in den Top 10 der umsatzstärksten Unternehmen der Welt.
Im Laptop-Bereich lag Apples Marktanteil 2014 bei 9.3% und 2016 bei 10.3%. Letzteres entspricht dem 5.Platz. Im Smartphone-Segment lag Apple im 1.Quartal 2016 bei 15.3% und hatte damit gegenüber 18.3% im Vorjahresquartal Marktanteile eingebüßt. Dennoch lag Apple damit in beiden Jahren auf Platz 2 hinter Samsung.
Es gibt Unmengen von Testberichten zu Apple-Laptops, Smartphones und Tablets. Die Bewertungen liegen deutlich über dem Durchschnitt (2016).
87.71%: Es handelt sich hier um eine überdurchschnittlich Bewertung. Dennoch darf man nicht übersehen, dass 10-15% aller Notebook-Modelle eine bessere Beurteilung erhalten. Der Prozentsatz entspricht am ehesten der Verbalbewertung "gut". Man darf aber nicht vergessen, dass Magazine nur selten richtig schlechte Beurteilungen verteilen.
