Die ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 OC ist in einem matten, dunkelgrauen und silbernen Farbton gehalten, der gut zu den Spitzen-Motherboards ROG Crosshair und Maximus von Asus und dem ROG Thor III Netzteil passt.
Ein dünner RGB-Streifen verläuft über die gesamte Länge der Karte. Die Beleuchtungseffekte können über das GPU Tweak III Dienstprogramm von Asus angepasst werden.

Emissionen: Drosselfreie Leistung mit lauten Vier-Achsen-Lüftern
Die ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC verwendet eine vapor chamber in Verbindung mit einem Phase Change Thermal Pad und insgesamt vier Axiallüftern, um eine optimale Kühlung zu gewährleisten.
Stress test
Die GPU hält während eines Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty -Stresstests bei 1080p Ultra mit durchschnittlichen Kerntemperaturen von 57,7 °C Taktraten von 2.915 MHz aufrecht und verbraucht dabei nur 271 W.
Bei der Belastung mit FurMark (1.280x720, ohne AA) erreicht die ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC einen ähnlichen Boost-Takt, allerdings bei einer Leistungsaufnahme, die näher an der 400 W TGP liegt und bei einer höheren durchschnittlichen Kerntemperatur von 65,6 °C.

Während eines Cyberpunk 2077-Tests haben wir keine Probleme mit der Drosselung festgestellt, egal ob bei bei 1080p Ultra oder bei 4K Ultra Einstellungen.

Oberflächentemperaturen
Bei einer Umgebungstemperatur von 22 °C wird die hintere Abdeckung mit 64,7 °C beträchtlich heiß, während der GPU-Bereich auf bis zu 70,7 °C ansteigt.
Der Bereich in der Nähe des 12V-2x6-Anschlusses bleibt bei erträglichen 51,2 °C.
Lärmpegel
Das ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC fügt einen vierten Axiallüfter an der Rückseite hinzu, um den vertikalen Luftstrom zur Oberseite des Gehäuse zu verbessern.
Dies führt jedoch zu einem höheren Lüftergeräusch mit Emissionen bis zu 51,29 dB(A) unter Last beim Spielen im Performance VBIOS.
Da der mittlere und der hintere Lüfter gekoppelt sind, können Sie den hinteren Lüfter nur abschalten, indem Sie ihn physisch von der Platine trennen.
Abgesehen davon werden die Lüfter im Leerlauf vollständig abgeschaltet.

Wir sehen eine 13%ige Steigerung des Stromverbrauchs mit der ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC im Vergleich zur RTX 5080 FE in FurMark, obwohl sie in Cyberpunk 2077 bei 1080p Ultra bescheidener ist (6%).
