Das leichte Gewicht lässt im ersten Moment fälschlicherweise einen hohen Kunststoffgehalt und mindere Materialqualität schließen, bei genauerer Betrachtung ist jedoch das Gegenteil der Fall.

Die technische Basis und die Ausstattung des ZenPad S 8.0 weisen klar Richtung Oberklasse, dazu passen auch die sehr hohe Leistung und das gelungene Display.Selbst die Kameras schlagen sich für ein Tablet mehr als wacker. Gut aussehen tut das leichte und kompakte Tablet obendrein.

Archive.org versionDas Gehäuse ist nicht nur schick, sondern das Tablet auch noch handlich und leicht - das fängt gut an. Auch bei der Darstellung gibt es wenig zu meckern - höchstens die Helligkeit könnte etwas höher sein. Die Leistung gibt ebenfalls keinen Grund zur Kritik, auch wenn der Chip schon etwas älter ist.

Archive.org versionDas ASUS ZenPad 8S ist ein wirklich schickes Stück Hardware. Schön dünn fällt es kaum ins Gewicht und die Größe ist für meinen Geschmack optimal. Mir persönlich sind 10 oder gar 12 Zöller einfach zu groß und unhandlich – spätestens dann, wenn länger damit gearbeitet wird.

A strong set of benchmark scores argue the point that the included Z3560 CPU is a mid-range processor. This CPU will please even the most impatient tablet users with its sheer speed. An 8MP camera is capable of delivering decent photos, too. They are not spectacular and I would still recommend using a modern smartphone for photography on the go. That said, images are fairly detailed for a tablet, and colours look good – so this camera can do a job.

It has a really nice looking display with a 2048x1536 resolution, a fair bit of power provided by an Intel Atom Z3580 processor and 4GB of RAM, and even a newfangled (and reversible) USB Type-C port, though it limits transfers to USB 2.0 speeds.

Das Asus ZenPad S 8.0 Z580CA ist ein Luxus-Tablet ohne übertriebenen Preis. Asus hat definitiv auf Verarbeitungsqualität Wert gelegt, wie an den eleganten, von der Mode inspirierten Oberflächen sichtbar wird. Dir Rückseite besteht aus einem metallischem Panel mit Diamant-Haarlinien-Muster und das gesamte Chassis fühlt sich in der Hand solide an. Man kann zwischen zwei Farben wählen: schwarz und weiß. Der Bildschirm des Asus ZenPad S 8.0 Z580CA ist ein 8 Zoll großes IPS LCD-Panel mit guter Sättigung und Helligkeit. Der Touscreen wird durch Corning Gorilla Glass 3 geschützt, damit man sich keine Sorgen machen muss. Abhängig von der Variante verfügt das Android 5.0 Lollipop-Gerät entweder über einen Intel Atom Z3560 oder Z3580 Quad-Core-Prozessor.
Die Hardware besteht aus bis zu 4 GB RAM, einer PowerVR G6430 GPU und bis zu 64 GB Speicher. User können den verfügbaren Speicher mit einer microSD-Karte um bis zu 128 GB vergrößern.
