EN→DE Archive.org versionThe Dell XPS 15 L502X P11F is a well-balanced desktop replacement laptop that will happily deal with everyday tasks and keep the family entertained. However, we can't help thinking that the touchscreen isn't necessary and when you consider it adds £160 to the overall price it just doesn't seem worth it.

EN→DE Archive.org versionWe were already fans of Dell’s XPS 15, but the improved performance, incredible stamina and smorgasbord of features make it more alluring than ever. We’d prefer a sturdier lid, but at $1333 the Dell is a fine example of just how much a Sandy Bridge entertainment laptop can offer.

EN→DE Archive.org versionOverall, the Dell XPS 15 L502X does a very good job with multimedia, and a fair to middling one with everything else. Its size and battery life preclude serious consideration by airport denizens, but if you're a general user who also likes to play a few games and watch movies when you're not working, it's well worth a look.

EN→DE Archive.org versionThe XPS is not quite perfection in laptop form, but considering it’s loaded down with goodies and outperforms hardware going for twice the price, it demands to be considered by anyone after a powerful portable.

EN→DE Archive.org versionAt $1,488, the Dell XPS 15 with Intel's second-generation Core i7 processor offers blistering performance, strong graphics, and stellar video and audio playback. If you don't plan on moving your notebook much, the larger Dell XPS 17 offers a 3D 17-inch display, the same great audio, and similar specs for the slightly lower cost of $1,474. And if you're looking for a more portable machine with longer battery life--and are willing to spend more--get the $1,799 15-inch MacBook Pro. Overall, though, those looking for a powerful 15-inch multimedia machine at a reasonable price should put the XPS 15 at or near the top of their shopping list.

EN→DE Archive.org versionTouch has come a long way, baby. From the first Windows convertible tablets (which are still being produced by a couple of manufacturers) to the Apple iPad in all of its touch glory, touch-input devices today look and feel a lot better than they used to. The highly configurable XPS 15 is a speedy performer, and the touch screen in our test unit was both convenient and fun. It's a winning touch laptop.

EN→DE Archive.org versionThe majority of this review shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. We know quad-core Sandy Bridge is faster than Clarksfield, and it’s much faster than Arrandale. It also manages reasonable power usage under light loads, although higher loads can definitely suck down power. So take one of our favorite laptops from last year and update the system with a Sandy Bridge CPU and a slightly newer GPU and what do you get?

EN→DE Archive.org versionDell recently updated its XPS line to include the new Intel 2nd Generation Core i processors. This refresh makes the systems faster with an economical starting price of just $799. Depending on your level of gaming, an upgrade to a full HD display and more advanced video card may be worth considering. In summary, the Dell XPS 15 is a great 15-inch notebook due to its portability, excellent audio quality, and overall value.

EN→DE Archive.org versionOne of last year's most impressively priced high-end multimedia laptops was the Dell XPS 15. Equipped with second-gen Intel Core i-series CPUs and improved Nvidia graphics, the new Dell XPS 15 performs even better than its predecessor, although it's still just as bulky. Also, keep in mind that the XPS 15 ranges greatly in price, from $799 up to $1,500.

EN→DE Archive.org versionThe ThinkPad Edge E220s is the best-looking and most comfortable small business notebook on the market. Its gorgeous soft-plastic and chrome design makes a bold statement in the boardroom or the coffee shop and its keyboard provides the best typing experience in the business. Plus, its slight frame fits comfortably in even the smallest bag. Our only issue is the E220's below-average battery life, though the approximate 5 hours of runtime will be long enough for many users. If you need more endurance, consider the $855 Toshiba Portege R835, which lasts an hour and a half longer on a charge. However, if you want the ultimate in small business style and comfort, the ThinkPad Edge E220s should be at the top of your list.
