Mein Fazit zum OnePlus 8T fällt irgendwie gemischt aus. Auf der einen Seite ist es ein sehr gutes Smartphone für knapp 600 Euro und für 700 Euro bekommt man sogar ordentliche 12 GB RAM und 256 GB Speicher, aber die Konkurrenz in dieser Preisklasse ist extrem groß geworden und somit wird auch der Druck größer.

I thought OnePlus was going to take the best parts of the high-end OnePlus 8 Pro and return to its roots by making a serious flagship-killer, especially after the underwhelming OnePlus 8. But the $749 price tag is too much, given the competition, and disappointing camera performance has made the OnePlus 8T a letdown. Build quality, performance, and 120Hz display are serious high points for the OnePlus 8T. But I don’t think it really marks a major upgrade over the OnePlus 7T from last year. It’s a bit faster in benchmarks, but in real-world use that doesn't make a huge difference. And I don't think a jump from a 90Hz display to 120Hz is worth the price of an upgrade.

Dan and I both bought the OnePlus One when it came out in 2014, and over the years I have owned many of their later models. I’ve watched the OnePlus’s devices become even better over time, and while there’s been a big price shift from the $299 that the original OnePlus One sold for to the nearly $1000 that their latest phones have cost, for the most part, I’ve felt it was justified. Where in the not too distant past, I might have loved the hardware but hates the camera, OnePlus has really stepped up. OnePlus continues to offer better features, faster speeds, larger RAM, and glorious displays with some of the fastest refresh rates available at any price. I can manage without wireless charging and Wi-Fi calling, but if those features were ever available on this device, I would call it perfect.

Since then, the OnePlus has done this. The OnePlus 8T checks all the boxes for me except for the $1,100 price, which is a lot to ask for a smartphone that you can’t subsidize from a carrier. If it came in closer to $700 like the Nord, I think this would be my favourite phone of the year. But for now, it’s nice to see OnePlus release a phone that’s as stellar as this and hopefully, it can take what it’s learned and apply it to the next Nord handset.

The green model I have is cheaper than the OnePlus 8 Pro but has the same CPU, the same memory, the same storage and a smaller screen which I actually found more suitable. Sure, there’s no wireless charging, no microSD and the screen is a little different, but this is – as with all the OnePlus phones – a lot of bang for your buck. While OnePlus didn't announce a US version of the OnePlus Nord along with the 8T, I hold out more hope for a version of that attractive midrange model. The Nord has a level of polish that you generally don't see in $400 phones, and with its shimmery blue back and OxygenOS 11, it could really shake up a price point that's typically dominated by duller devices. For now, our general-purpose Android pick remains the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. It has the reasonable price, long battery life, and solid zoom camera that most people want, and it's rife with trade-ins and sales that can make it an even better deal than its list price.

Das OnePlus 8T ist eine aufgerüstete Version des OnePlus 8. In einigen Hinsichten übertrifft es sogar das OnePlus 8 Pro. Es hat einen acht-kern Snapdragon 865, 12 GB Arbeitsspeicher und 256 GB Speicherplatz. Diesmal stehen zwei Farbvarianten zur Verfügung, nämlich “Blue Field” und “Silver Time”. Außerdem hat OnePlus die Rückseite verändert, die vom OnePlus 6 bis zur OnePlus-8-Reihe konstant blieb. Das 8T ist 8,4 mm dünn und wiegt 188 g, im Vergleich zu ähnlichen Produkten ist es also recht leichtgewichtig. Eine weitere Neuigkeit ist der 6,55-Zoll-Bildschirm mit einer Auflösung von 2.400 x 1.800 Pixel, Fluid-AMOLED-Technologie, einer Bildrate von 120 Hz und einer Aussparung in der oberen linken Ecke. Nicht nur das, es arbeitet mit 8.192 Niveaus von automatischer Helligkeitsanpassung (zweimal so viel wie beim OnePlus 8), die maximale Helligkeit erreicht 1.100 nits. Im Freien kann man problemlos alles lesen, die Helligkeit wird mit Sensoren auf der Vorder- und Rückseite noch besser angepasst. Der Bildschirm wird nicht enttäuschen. HDR-Videos auf Netflix und YouTube werden normal wiedergegeben, die Stereo-Lautsprecher mit Dolby-Atmos-Unterstützung verbessern noch das Erlebnis. Der Akku des 8T wurde auf 4.500 mAh vergrößert und somit auf das Niveau des 8 Pro gebracht.

Einer der besten Punkte des OnePlus 8T ist die neue Warp-Charge-65-Schnellladefunktion. Das 8T kann mit 65 W anstatt 30 W geladen werden, die Stärke wurde also mehr als verdoppelt. In nur zehn Minuten kann der Akku von 0% auf 42% sein, eine ganze Ladung benötigt 39 Minuten. Warp-Charge-65 ist das gleiche wie Oppos 65W-SuperVOOC-2.0- und Realmes 65W-SuperDart-Schnellladefunktion. Wenn man das Ladegerät der anderen beiden Hersteller und ein Ladekabel mit VOOC-Zertifierung in das OnePlus 8T steckt, wird es auch das als Warp-Charge-65 erkennen. Das OnePlus 8T unterstützt allerdings kein kabelloses Laden, genau wie das OnePlus 8. Die Hauptkamera des 8T ist immer noch der 48-MP-Sony-IMX586-Sensor des OnePlus 8, die 16-MP-Kamera stammt vom OnePlus 8 und 8 Pro. Bei guten Lichtverhältnissen nimmt es draußen Fotos mit vielen Details auf. Im Vergleich zum Schwarz-Weiß-Modus des OnePlus 8 erstellt das 8T Schwarz-Weiß-Fotos, die traditioneller wirken und die Schärfe, den Kontrast und die Körnigkeit besser hinbekommen. Zusammenfassend ist das OnePlus 8T ein tolles Smartphone mit ausgezeichneten Komponenten und sehr guter Leistung. Der 120-Hz-Bildschirm und 65-W-Laden sind ansprechende Pluspunkte für OnePlus-Benutzer. Zudem liefert OxygenOS, das in Übersee gut angenommen wurde, ein flottes Benutzererlebnis.

Qualcomm Adreno 650: Grafikchip für Smartphones und Tablets, integriert im Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Laut Qualcomm um 25% schneller als die alte Adreno 640 im Snapdragon 855.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

SD 865: High-End SoC (System on a Chip) für Smartphones welcher Ende 2019 vorgestellt wurde. Integriert unter anderen einen schnellen "Prime Core" mit bis zu 2,84 GHz und drei weitere schnelle Cortex-A77 basierende Performance-Kerne. Zum Stromsparen wurden außerdem 4 weitere ARM Cortex-A55 Kerne verbaut. Integriert kein eigens Modem, sonder ist gedacht um mit dem Snapdragon X55 5G Modem zusammenzuarbeiten.
