Das Fazit zum Sony Xperia 5 II fällt mir etwas schwer. Prinzipiell ist das Xperia 5 II ein sehr gutes High End Smartphone, für alle die es etwas kompakter und schmäler suchen. So ist das Display gut bis sehr gut, die Lautsprecher ordentlich, die System-Performance klasse dank Snapdragon 865 und auch die Kamera macht einen ordentlichen Job. Sogar die Akkulaufzeit ist nicht übel!

Das Fazit fällt mir relativ leicht, denn das Sony Xperia 5 II ist meiner Meinung nach ein echter Geheimtipp. Ich mag das die Haptik, auch wenn ich mir das kantige Design vom Sony Xperia 1 II gewünscht hätte. Es gibt nicht mehr viele Flaggschiffe mit einem kompakten Formfaktor, allerdings immer mehr Mittelklasse-Modelle.

A bright point for the Xperia 5 II is its nimbleness as a gaming device. Aside from some issues with aliasing, it’s fun for playing games.

Das Sony Xperia 5 II ist ein Smartphone mit 5G-Technologie. Laut Sony handelt es sich um das kompakteste Xperia-Smartphone. Das ganze Gerät ist schlank, es mißt nur 8 mm und wiegt 163 g. Mit einem 6,1-Zoll-Bildschirm (21:9) passt es gut in die Hand. Es gibt diesmal vier Farboptionen, nämlich schwarz, grau, blau, und rosa. Der Bildschirm verfügt über CinemaWide- und HDR-OLED-Technologie. Obwohl das Panel nur eine FHD+-Auflösung hat, erreichen die Bildrate und Touch-Sampling-Rate jeweils 120 Hz und 240 Hz. Mit der Motion-Blur-Reduction-Technologie entsteht ein Schöpfer-Modus, dessen Display-Effekt für kreative Projekte besser geeignet ist. Außerdem verfügt das Xperia 5 II über den X1™-Motor für mobile Bildverarbeitung, der BRAVIA-HDR-Bildoptimierungstechnologie auf jeden Inhalt anwendet. Sogar wenn man Videos streamt, erhält man besseren Kontrast, Klarheit und Farbwiedergabe. Die anderen Komponenten umfassen einen Snapdragon-865-Prozessor, 8 GB Arbeitsspeicher und 128/256 GB Speicherplatz (der mit einer Speicherkarte um bis zu 1 TB erweitert werden kann). Die Software basiert auf Android 10 und wird voraussichtlich auf Android 11 aktualisiert. Der Akku hat eine Kapazität von 4.000 mAh und unterstützt USB-PD-Laden. Auch BatteryCare-Technologie ist vorhanden. Die Akkulaufzeit wird ausgedehnt, indem die Laderate optimiert wird, doch auch HS-Modus steht zur Verfügung, der den Strom direkt das Smartphone antreiben lässt und den Akku gänzlich umgeht.

Das Xperia 5 II ist mit professioneller Sony-Alpha-Kameratechnologie ausgerüstet, die Nutzern ausgezeichnete Schnelligkeit und Genauigkeit bietet, um magische Momente mit scharfem Fokus und perfekter Beleuchtung einzufangen. Die Selfiekamera arbeitet mit 8 MP, die drei Kameras auf der Rückseite (Weitwinkel-, Ultra-Weitwinkel-Kamera und Teleobjektiv) bleiben immer noch bei 12 MP. Die Linse wurde mit Zeiss-T*-Beschichtung überzogen, damit widergespiegeltes Licht reduziert wird und exquisite Kontrast- und Bild-Effekte zum Vorschein kommen können. Videos kann man durchgehend mit 20 fps, Eye-Tracking und anderen Funktionen aufnehmen, es ist das erste Smartphone, das Videos in Zeitlupe mit 120 fps und in 4K und HDR aufnehmen kann. Zudem ist das Gehäuse wassergeschützt (IP65/68) und mit doppelten Dolby-Atmos-Lautsprechern ausgestattet. Das Smartphone unterstützt außerdem 5G und Wi-Fi 6 im Dual-Modus. Sogar der 3,5-mm-Kopfhöreranschluss wurde beibehalten, und mit HiRes-Audio, Dolby-Atmos, 360-Reality-Audio, usw. wird das Smartphone zu einem starken Multimedia-Powerhouse. Ein interessantes Merkmal des Xperia 5 II ist der Game-Modus, mit dem man die Bildrate, die Touch-Sampling-Rate, Ausgleich für Unschärfe und vieles mehr fixieren kann. Für Konnektivität stehen Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, HSPA, LTE-A und 5G zur Verfügung. Insgesamt ist das Sony Xperia 5 II eine aufgerüstete Version des Xperia 5. Als Flaggschiff mit kleinem Bildschirm hat es eine klare Stelle auf dem Markt. Aufgrund der vielen zusätzlichen Features wurde der Preis erhöht, es eignet sich vor allem für Benutzer, die nach einem Smartphone für Multimedia-Zwecke suchen.

SD 865: High-End SoC (System on a Chip) für Smartphones welcher Ende 2019 vorgestellt wurde. Integriert unter anderen einen schnellen "Prime Core" mit bis zu 2,84 GHz und drei weitere schnelle Cortex-A77 basierende Performance-Kerne. Zum Stromsparen wurden außerdem 4 weitere ARM Cortex-A55 Kerne verbaut. Integriert kein eigens Modem, sonder ist gedacht um mit dem Snapdragon X55 5G Modem zusammenzuarbeiten.
