The OPPO Reno 2 is a weird character. It's half the price of the current generation of flagship devices. But I can, in good conscience, recommend it just as heartily as I would something like the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. It's not perfect; the display could be better, ColorOS might not be to everyone's taste, and it lacks wireless charging. That said, it gets the fundamentals right. Despite its middle-of-the-pack silicon, it feels slick and fast. The industrial design is solid. And the camera is excellent.

Oppo Reno 2 is a natural and much expected successor to the original Reno. It has all the bells and whistles and makes the right noises. However, there are a few caveats that may concern both Oppo and the buyer. The biggest one is the over-hyped 20x zooming camera feature. The smartphone does shoot images at 20x digital zoom but in most cases we found it not useful enough. The use of Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G doesn’t really add up to the mix as it is a processor specifically made for gaming purposes and the handset is not really marketed as a gaming device. Using a new processor and four cameras at the back not just adds to the overall cost here also struggles to justify the overall experience. It will still leave you wanting for more.

Es gibt Smartphones, die Flaggschiff-Design mit mittleren Komponenten vereinen, um den Preis niedrig zu halten; ein perfektes Beispiel ist das Xiaomi Mi Note 10, welches den ersten 108-MP-Smartphone-Kamerasensor der Welt mit einem mittelmäßigen Chipsatz vereint. Ähnlich kam das Oppo Reno 2 auf den Markt, mit einem Flaggschiff-Design, minimal vier Hauptkameras und einem Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G Prozessor, genau wie das Mi Note 10. Der Prozessor ist definitiv nicht die beste Option für Gamen im Vergleich zum weit stärkeren Snapdragon 855, der im OnePlus TT und dem Realme X2 Pro eingebaut ist. Allerdings bietet das Oppo Reno 2 zu einem guten Preis bis zu 256 GB internen Speicherplatz. 

Das Display ist randlos und sehr futuristisch. Das Gerät verfügt außerdem über insgesamt 8 GB Arbeitsspeicher und einen größeren 4.000-mAh-Akku, der längere Akkulaufzeiten und ein besseres Nutzererlebnis bietet, da man das Gerät nicht so oft laden muss. Darüber hinaus steckt unter dem Bildschirm des Oppo Reno 2 ein Fingerabdruck-Leser. Es sollte wiederholt werden, das all diese Funktionen zu einem günstigen Preis angeboten werden. Die Ansammlung an Kameras ähnelt der des viel teureren iPhone 11 Pro. Mit dabei sind eine Weitwinkelkamera, eine Ultra-Weitwinkelkamera, eine Zoom-Kamera und eine 2-MP-Monochrom-Kamera, die nötige Informationen für Porträt-Effekte sammelt. Zusammen liefern sie ein hochwertiges Benutzererlebnis und nehmen großartige Bilder auf.

Trotz aller zusätzlicher Features ist das Oppo Reno 2 wahrscheinlich immer noch nicht das beste Kamera-Smartphone auf dem Markt, denn es fehlt der 5x optische Zoom des Oppo Reno 10x Zoom und des Huawei P30 Pro. Bei der Telefoto-Kamera mangelt es auch an OIS, und die 4K-Videoaufnahme wird definitiv von vielen übertroffen. Doch das Oppo Reno 2 ist unbestreitbar das beste günstige Kamera-Smartphone zurzeit. Das ist nicht nur die Meinung einiger Rezensenten, sondern die Erfahrung der Benutzer. Tatsächlich nimmt das Smartphone bei guten Lichtverhältnissen Bilder mit einer guten Menge an Details und Dynamik auf, ungeachtet der eingesetzten Kamera.

Das Oppo Reno 2 ist in zwei Farben erhältlich, Ocean Blue oder Luminous and Black. Trotz der begrenzten Farbvarianten kann dieses Gerät nie für seinen Preis und Komponenten ignoriert werden.
